Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 204
Chapter 204: To distance myself Chapter 204: To distance myself Lucius returned to the living room, but Alekis was nowhere in sight.
“Father went outside to see your mother,” Fiona informed him.
“You aren’t my grandpa’s child?!” Roderick asked.
“How can you live here and claim this family name?” He said scornfully.
“How dare you speak like that?
Don’t you dare say another word to my son.” He walked over as his voice rang out in the living room.
“I married your grandmother, and with that, her son became mine.
Family isn’t defined by blood alone,” he said firmly.
Fiona held the hand of her son tightly, gesturing to him to stay quiet.
“Dad, you must rest in your room,” Lucius said and turned to go upstairs.
“Follow me to my room,” Alekis urged.
He didn’t wait for Lucius’s response and left.
But before leaving he asked Roderick to be serious for his work.
Lucius quietly went after his father and entered his room.
He closed the doors behind him and saw his father taking a seat behind his working desk.
Lucius took a seat across from him and said, “I know what Dad wants to know– how I found out I wasn’t his son.” “I never considered you of someone else’s son,” Alekis answered.
Lucius looked up, his voice faltering as he asked, “But did you ever hate me?
I’ve always wondered… You had no obligation to raise me.
I wasn’t your blood, yet you took care of me.” “Hate you?” Alekis shook his head slowly as a small smile carved on his lips.
“Never.
How could I?
When you were born, it felt as though everything in my life started to fall into place.
So many good things happened.
I achieved dreams I thought were out of reach, and even Antoine-who was always so difficult-started to change for the better.
Your presence brought light into my life and Antoine’s too.” Lucius’s throat tightened as a lump formed there.
But he remained silent.
Alekis continued while carefully choosing his words.
“I only regret that I wasn’t there for you the way I should have been.
I focused too much on my work, and your mother was equally preoccupied with her own career.
I failed to give you the attention you needed.

And when the divorce happened…” His voice quivered for a moment before he continued, “I regret that I couldn’t stop it.
You were left to carry that burden alone, and for that, I will always feel guilty.” “I wish my mother was this understanding.
Was my father… a drunkard?” Lucius asked in a hesitant voice.
“That’s what your mother told me,” Alekis replied evenly.
“But don’t waste your thoughts on a man who was never truly a part of your life,” he added firmly.
Lucius nodded, but his gaze was distant.
“Dad, once my arm heals completely, I’ll be returning to my mansion.
I can’t stay here.” Alekis frowned slightly, leaning forward.
“You don’t need to listen to Roderick.
He’s just a kid, rebellious and impulsive.
He’ll grow out of it.” “It’s not about Roderick,” Lucius replied, shaking his head.
“I understand his anger.
But it’s the memories I’ve made in this house-they haunt me.
For some reason, they still hurt.
I need to distance myself from this place because of that.” Alekis was taken aback by his son’s confession.
For a moment, he was silent, processing Lucius’s words.
Finally, he nodded.
“Alright,” he said quietly, not wanting to push Lucius further.
Lucius hesitated before speaking again.
“I’ll leave this life-the mafia work-once I uncover the truth I’ve been searching for all these years.” Alekis’s expression darkened.
“And what if that truth never comes to light?
In the world of crime and deceit, finding answers is no simple task.” Lucius met his father’s gaze, determination burning in his eyes.
“But it’s not impossible.” Alekis sighed, realizing that Lucius’s resolve was unshakable.
He noticed something different in his son now-a maturity and thoughtfulness that hadn’t been there before.
Perhaps the weight of marriage and responsibility had changed him.
Alekis decided not to argue further.
Whatever fate awaited Lucius would unfold in its own time.
“I feel sleepy,” Lucius said, deciding to end the conversation there.
“I’m going to my room.” Alekis nodded, watching as Lucius turned and left.
As Lucius crossed the living room, Fiona approached him with an apologetic expression on her face.
“I’m sorry for Roderick’s behavior.
You were right-I haven’t disciplined him well.” Lucius glanced at her briefly before replying, “You should hate me too.
Don’t show me kindness-it’s unnecessary.” He began to turn toward the stairs, but Fiona’s voice stopped him.
“Antoine was happy to have a brother like you,” she said quickly.
Her words carried the sincerity, showing she was telling the truth.
“He always told me to make sure you never felt separated from this family.
I know I’ve been biased at times because of my son.
But I don’t want you to hurt yourself, Lucius.
Not like this.” For a moment, Lucius didn’t respond.
Then he hummed softly in acknowledgment and continued up the stairs.
In the solitude of his bedroom, Lucius sat on the bed, resting his head against the headboard.
He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone as he stared at the screen.
“Dad didn’t tell me the truth nor did my mother,” Lucius murmured as he looked at the photo on his phone.
His phone buzzed with a message from Demitri.
Reading its contents, Lucius knitted his brows together.
Without hesitation, he dialed Demitri’s number, holding the phone to his ear as he waited for the call to connect.
The line clicked, and Demitri’s voice came through.
“X met someone at the old shipyard before coming to the city,” he began, his tone brisk and focused.
“I think you should send your skilled men there to check for CCTVs.
If they find anything, I can hack the footage and figure out who he met.” Lucius listened intently, his mind already racing with possibilities.
“Alright,” he said curtly.
“I’ll get it done.” Without another word, he ended the call.
