Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 224
Chapter 224: The same house Chapter 224: The same house “Yes, Lucius?
It’s almost seven.
Shouldn’t you come home by now?” Layla’s voice carried a hint of worry.
“I’m sorry for keeping you waiting, Wife,” Lucius said, his tone apologetic but steady.
“But I’ve stumbled upon something interesting.
Orabela’s old number was used to give away your location on the day of the attack.
I’m at your family home right now, interrogating her.
However, she denies any involvement.” Layla paused, her confusion evident.
“So?
Why are you calling me about this?” She felt Lucius would have handled it in his own way.
Lucius sighed, his voice lowering slightly.
“Orabela claimed you bought her a new SIM card a few months ago, and that she stopped using the first number after that.
I wanted to confirm it with you.” “That’s correct,” Layla replied.
“I got her a new SIM card a while back.
She’s been using the second number ever since, not the old one.” Lucius’s gaze hardened as he processed the information.
“That means someone else is using her old number,” he said, his voice cold with determination.
“I’ll confirm this with Demitri to track its usage history.” “Alright.
Be careful,” Layla said.
“I will.
I’ll be home soon,” Lucius assured her before ending the call.
He quickly dialed Demitri, who picked up after a few rings.
“I forgot to ask you about the device used to make the call,” Lucius began, his voice calm but focused.
“I’ve sent you Orabela’s new number just now.
Check if the IP addresses are the same or different.” “Already on it,” Demitri replied briskly.
“Hold on for a second.” Lucius listened to the clatter of keyboards on the other end.
Finally, Demitri spoke.
“The IP addresses are different.
The devices’ locations don’t match either.
Orabela didn’t make or receive that call-it was someone else using her old number.” Lucius’s jaw tightened as he asked, “So, where’s the second location?” There was a brief pause before Demitri answered, his voice dropping to a lower, almost hesitant tone.
“The same house.” Lucius’s eyes narrowed, his grip on the phone tightening.

“You still won’t tell me, will you?” he asked, his voice edged with frustration, but Demitri remained silent.
Lucius exhaled sharply.
“Fine.
I’ll find out myself.” With that, he ended the call.
Slipping it inside his pocket, he walked to the waiting people in the living room.
“Orabela isn’t the one behind this attack,” Lucius announced firmly, his gaze sweeping across the room.
“I told you it wasn’t me,” Orabela said, her voice trembling with relief.
Her gaze flickered toward Miriam, who avoided meeting her eyes.
“However, the question is how your old sim card used by someone else?” Lucius muttered.
“Did you give it to someone else?” “No.
I have no idea how the old number in my name is still in use,” Orabela murmured.
“Alright.
Roger will drop you off at the airport,” Lucius said, his tone neutral.
“I believe your flight still has some time.” Orabela glanced at her wristwatch and gave a curt nod.
“I’ll go by myself,” she replied, her voice steady but tinged with weariness.
She clearly wanted to distance herself from the chaos.
“Great.
Sorry for the inconvenience,” Lucius said, turning to Darius and Miriam with a polite nod.
“I’ll take my leave now.” As Lucius prepared to walk away, Orabela stopped him with a quiet but resolute voice.
“My mother may be a culprit, but I’m not like her.” Lucius paused, his expression unreadable as he turned back to her.
“Perhaps.
But in the past, you made grave mistakes,” he said, his voice carrying a sharp edge of warning.
Without waiting for a response, he walked out, leaving her standing there.
Roger followed closely behind Lucius as they descended the stairs.
Halfway down, Lucius’s sharp gaze lingered on a servant passing by.
He narrowed his eyes slightly, as if filing the observation away for later, but he said nothing and continued toward the car.
Once inside, Roger took the driver’s seat while Lucius settled in the back, his expression unreadable.
“Boss,” Roger began cautiously, his brow furrowed in thought, “isn’t it strange?
Someone used Orabela’s number to contact X and leak Madam’s location.
Why would they use her number out of all possibilities and how did they access it?” Lucius’s eyes drifted out the car window, landing on the servant again, who was now disappearing around the corner.
“That servant over there,” he said suddenly.
Roger immediately turned his head, peering out the driver’s side window to catch a glimpse of the figure.
“Find out everything about her, including the others,” Lucius continued.
His tone was low, but the urgency was unmistakable.
“We can’t afford any delays.” “Then I’ll stay here and investigate,” Roger offered.
Lucius nodded slightly, a quiet “Hmm,” escaping his lips before leaning back against the seat.
Roger hesitated for a moment before asking, “Boss, what happened between you and Demitri?
You seemed… so wasted last night.” Lucius’s gaze darkened, and he exhaled slowly.
“Demitri knows more than he’s letting on,” he said finally.
“He’s figured out who’s behind the attack, but he’s refusing to tell me.” Roger’s jaw dropped slightly.
“What?
Why would he hold back something so important?” “Because he regrets helping Matteo.
He feels responsible for Matteo’s death and doesn’t want to repeat his mistakes.
I was angry at him, but I understand why he’s hesitant now.” Roger absorbed the information, his confusion slowly giving way to concern.
“Understood, Boss.
I’ll handle the servants investigation while you deal with the rest.” “Hmm.
Thank you,” Lucius said, his voice carrying a tone of finality.
He glanced at Roger, his expression softening slightly.
“By the way, don’t forget to come to my dad’s birthday tomorrow.
Make sure to inform the others as well and keep the security tight.
Last time, things got out of hand, and a freak ruined my dad’s day.
I won’t tolerate that happening again.” Roger nodded firmly.
“Understood, Boss.
I won’t disappoint you this time,” he assured, stepping out of the car.
Lucius gave him a slight nod of approval before signaling the driver.
The car pulled away, leaving Roger standing by the mansion gates.
