Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 231
Chapter 231: You’re sorely mistaken Chapter 231: You’re sorely mistaken “Dude, you’re here?” Karl remarked, approaching Roderick with a glass of whiskey in hand.
His tone carried both surprise and curiosity as he sank into the lounge chair beside him.
“Weren’t you supposed to be at your grandfather’s birthday party?” Roderick leaned back as he took slow sips of the alcohol from the glass he was holding.
“Don’t start, Karl.
I’m not in the mood for small talk.” Karl raised an eyebrow but said nothing further, sensing the tension.
Moments later, Maxwell strolled over, his phone still in hand, the glow from its screen lighting up his face.
He stopped in his tracks before plopping down into the chair opposite Roderick.
“What the hell is going on, man?” Maxwell began, his voice incredulous.
“I just saw the news-your aunt is the new chairwoman of the De Salvo Group?
I thought you were next in line for that!
Did your grandfather actually cut you out?” He chuckled, though his humor was poorly timed.
“Damn, man.
That’s gotta sting.” Roderick’s head snapped up, his dark eyes burning with barely contained rage.
“Shut your fucking mouth, Maxwell,” he growled, each word sharp and deliberate.
Maxwell raised his hands defensively, the smirk wiped from his face.
“Alright, alright.
No need to bite my head off.” Karl exchanged a wary glance with Maxwell but said nothing further, sensing that pushing Roderick would only worsen his simmering anger.
“I think I’ve seen your aunt before,” Maxwell said, his gaze fixed on the glowing screen of his phone.
“Wait a second!
Isn’t she the one who went to our college?
And hold on-isn’t that the same woman you used to date?
And two timed with her with her younger sister?” He smirked, leaning back casually.
“She’s damn hot.
Turns out why your uncle married her.
Why the hell did you even cheat on her?” He chuckled, clearly amused by his own question.
The room fell deadly silent.
Roderick’s hand clenched tightly around the glass in his grasp, his knuckles white from the pressure.
Without a word, he hurled it toward Maxwell.
The glass shattered against the wall just inches behind Maxwell’s head, the sharp crash echoing through the lounge.
Maxwell froze, his smirk vanishing as shards of glass rained down onto the floor.

Maxwell sat up abruptly in shock.
“Roderick!
What the hell are you doing?” he exclaimed.
Roderick stood, his frame rigid with barely restrained fury.
“Watch your fucking mouth, Max,” he growled.
“Say one more thing about Layla, and I won’t miss next time.” Maxwell swallowed hard, his earlier bravado now replaced with visible unease.
He raised his hands in surrender, glancing at Roderick.
“Alright, man, relax.
It was just a joke.” “Try joking about something else,” Roderick snapped, his piercing glare pinning Maxwell in place before storming out of the room.
Aiden shifted back into the shadows, carefully positioning himself out of sight.
The last thing he wanted was for Roderick to spot him.
If it weren’t for Lucius’s explicit orders to keep an eye on his unruly nephew, Aiden would have gladly avoided this entire ordeal.
Roderick, meanwhile, staggered through the dimly lit corridor.
His steps faltered, and he collided with someone coming from the opposite direction.
“Watch where the fuck you’re going!” Roderick yelled with irritation.
Without waiting for a response, his fist flew out, connecting with the stranger’s jaw.
The man stumbled back but quickly recovered, a scowl twisting his face.
“Big mistake,” he snarled, gesturing to the group of four others who immediately closed in around Roderick.
The corridor erupted into chaos.
Roderick barely managed to stay on his feet as fists and shouts flew around him.
His head spun, not just from the blows but from the multiple shots of alcohol he’d downed earlier.
Just as one of the men raised a hockey stick in his hand, ready to strike, Aiden stepped in.
His movements were swift.
Within seconds, he incapacitated the first attacker with a swift kick to the chest, sending him crashing into the wall.
The second barely had time to react before Aiden swept his legs out from under him.
The third and fourth men tried to rush him simultaneously, but Aiden moved like a predator.
A brutal elbow strike to one’s temple and a calculated knee to the other’s stomach left both writhing on the floor.
Roderick sat slumped against the wall, his chest heaving as he struggled to regain his bearings.
The dizziness from the alcohol clouded his senses.
Aiden glanced down at Roderick.
“Next time, try picking your fights more wisely,” he said coolly, offering a hand to help him up.
Roderick glared at Aiden, his pride stung.
“I didn’t ask for your help,” he muttered, though he reluctantly accepted Aiden’s outstretched hand.
Aiden pulled him to his feet with ease.
“Good thing I didn’t wait for you to ask,” he said, his tone calm but edged with authority.
Roderick wobbled, brushing off Aiden’s grip.
“I can handle myself,” he snapped, attempting to regain his composure.
Aiden stepped in close.
“Stay quiet unless you want your drunken brawl plastered all over tomorrow’s headlines,” he warned sharply.
Roderick scowled, his frustration boiling over.
“You’re nothing but my uncle’s lapdog,” he spat, attempting to shove Aiden away.
His efforts were futile against Aiden’s firm stance.
“Call me whatever you want,” Aiden said coolly, grabbing Roderick’s arm and twisting it just enough to make his point.
“Insults mean nothing to me.
But if you think you can challenge me, you’re sorely mistaken.” “Ahh!” Roderick winced, pain shooting through his arm as he struggled against Aiden’s unyielding grip.
Aiden leaned in, his voice dropping to a low, menacing tone.
“I don’t care if you’re the boss’s nephew.
If you come at me again, I’ll teach you a lesson you won’t forget.
Consider this your only warning.” With that, Aiden released him, letting Roderick stumble back.
Roderick held his arm, his face flushed with a mix of pain and humiliation.
He opened his mouth to retort but thought better of it.
Instead, he fell silent, casting a dark look at Aiden before following him.
Now, all Roderick wanted now was to get home, collapse into bed, and sleep off the chaos of the evening.
