Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 234
Chapter 234: Family Trip (1) Chapter 234: Family Trip (1) “All of us are going!” Layla asked in bewilderment as she stopped midway in closing the zipper of the cabin bag.
“Yeah.
Sorry, I just felt it would be wrong to leave Roderick and Fiona behind.
Also, I am trying to become a good uncle to Roderick.
I mean…
I want him to stop misunderstanding me,” Lucius explained.
“That’s good to hear,” Layla said with a smile.
“You aren’t upset, right?
It was me who suggested not to take them at first, later, I decided on my own that they also should join us,” Lucius said in a low voice.
“I’m not upset.
I am done with the packing.
Father wants it to be a day trip only, so I packed light,” Layla asserted.
“A day trip won’t be fun,” Lucius murmured.
“I told Father.
However, I need to take over my duties too.
It feels surreal sometimes.
Father chose me.
I-I feel such a huge responsibility on my head,” Layla said, feeling a bit worried if she would do well.
“You’re going to see me every day now, my boss-wife,” Lucius remarked, his tone laced with playful affection.
Layla raised a curious brow, her lips curling into a soft smile.
“What do you mean?
We already see each other every day.” “Not while we’re at work,” he countered, stepping closer, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
“But now, when I feel like seeing my wife, I won’t have to drive to another company.
I can simply walk into your office anytime I please.” As he closed the distance between them, Lucius gracefully lowered himself onto one knee, taking her hands gently in his.
Pressing a tender kiss to her knuckles, his lips lingered for a moment before he looked up at her.
“No romance in the office,” Layla said, though her voice held no sternness-just an amused challenge.
Lucius chuckled, his warm breath grazing her skin as he nuzzled her hands against his cheek.
“I don’t think that rule applies to us,” he murmured, his tone teasingly defiant.
“Well, it will,” Layla teased back, her grin widening.
“And I’ll make sure of it.” “Is that so?” Lucius arched a brow, his smirk growing.

“I enjoy playing games like these, wife.
How about this?
If you lose, you grant me a wish.
If I lose, I’ll grant you one.
Deal?” Her eyes gleamed with intrigue.
“Deal,” she agreed with a confident nod.
Then, glancing at the clock, she added, “We should head down.
They’re probably waiting for us.” Lucius sighed but didn’t move just yet.
“Hmm, perhaps.
But first…” His voice dropped to a sultry whisper as he leaned in, his lips barely brushing hers.
“…let me have a taste of you.” Before she could respond, his lips captured hers in a slow kiss, his fingers threading through her silken hair.
For a moment, the world around them faded into insignificance.
Layla gently pushed him back, her laughter bubbling up as her hand rested against his chest.
“That’s enough, husband.
Once you start, it’s nearly impossible to stop you.” Lucius smiled, brushing a thumb across her cheek before helping her to her feet.
“Fair enough-for now.” She slipped on her long coat while he grabbed her cabin bag with ease.
As Lucius and Layla descended the stairs, they found Alekis and Roderick deep in conversation, while Fiona instructed the servants to load the luggage into the car.
“Grandpa, I really think we should stay the night there,” Roderick suggested earnestly.
“We’ll all be exhausted, and it’ll be hard to enjoy ourselves if we’re rushing back.” Lucius nodded in agreement, setting the cabin bag on the floor.
“I second that, Dad.
I’ve already booked the place for two nights.
It’s been years since we’ve gone on a trip together.” Alekis glanced between the two of them, his resolve softening as he considered their plea.
With a sigh, he relented.
“Alright, alright.
We’ll stay the night.” “Now, that sounds like fun!” Roderick exclaimed with a grin, clearly pleased with the change in plans.
Leaning toward Layla, Lucius whispered, “I’ll grab another bag.
Be right back,” and hurried upstairs before she could respond.
Just as Lucius disappeared, Fiona’s voice rang out, drawing everyone’s attention.
“Oh, look!
Ivy is here too!” The announcement caught Roderick off guard.
His expression tightened as his gaze flicked to his mother, then shifted to the doorway, where Ivy stood with a tentative smile.
“Mom,” Roderick said quietly, his voice laced with frustration, “this was supposed to be a family trip.” “And Ivy will be family soon,” Fiona replied matter-of-factly, as if the matter was already decided.
Ivy stepped forward, greeting everyone politely.
“I hope my presence doesn’t bother anyone.
I just couldn’t refuse Mrs.
Fiona’s invitation,” she said, her tone humble but firm.
“You did the right thing,” Alekis assured her, offering a kind smile.
“Where’s your luggage?” “I’ve already given it to the driver, Grandpa,” Ivy replied with a soft nod.
Her gaze met Roderick’s briefly, and she smiled faintly, though it didn’t entirely mask her unease.
“We should get going,” Fiona urged, glancing at her watch.
“Layla, ask Lucius to hurry.
It’s still early, and the traffic should be light.” “Of course, I’ll call him down,” Layla replied, turning toward the staircase as the others made their way outside.
As she reached the base of the stairs, Lucius appeared, carrying a sleek leather duffle bag.
“I packed this quickly,” he said, his grin boyish as he leaped down the last few steps.
“Let’s go.” Taking her hand with ease, Lucius led Layla outside, their steps in sync as they joined the rest of the group.
The cars were already lined up and ready.
Roderick and Ivy climbed into the first car in which Aiden and Roger were present too.
Lucius and Layla settled into the second car with Alekis and Fiona.
“How are you feeling, Roderick?” Roger asked as he turned on the engine.
“Why are you two in this car?” Roderick frowned.
“Well, we don’t want you to get into any trouble again.
That’s why,” Aiden replied, glancing at him briefly and driving off the car from driveway.
“You got into a fight, didn’t you?” Ivy glanced at Roderick, looking at all those bruises.
“That explains why you were not chosen as the chairman,” she remarked quite bluntly.
