Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 243
Chapter 243: To leave my side Chapter 243: To leave my side Lucius stopped in his tracks, standing just a few steps away from Fabio, who was bound tightly to a pole in the dimly lit warehouse.
The ropes cut into Fabio’s wrists, and a fresh trail of blood dripped from the corner of his mouth-a souvenir from Zayne’s fist earlier.
“You tricked me,” Fabio growled, his voice laced with both anger and desperation as he struggled against the restraints.
Lucius tilted his head slightly, a faint smirk playing on his lips.
“Tricked you?” he chuckled.
“That’s how Mafias do business, Fabio.
Your father failed to teach you the most important lesson-trust is a luxury you can’t afford in this world.” Fabio let out a bitter laugh, though it was edged with pain.
“I should’ve killed that bastard when I had the chance,” he muttered to himself before meeting Lucius’s cold gaze again.
“But you won’t kill me, will you?
What would your precious family think if they knew their beloved Lucius was nothing more than a cold-blooded murderer?” Lucius’s expression darkened, and his voice dropped to a menacing whisper.
“You don’t understand me at all, Fabio.
You crossed a line the moment you thought you could harm my woman.
That was your first and last mistake.
You should’ve known what happens to anyone who touches the people I care about.
Your death was inevitable the moment you decided to hire a shooter to harm my wife.
That’s why you’re here, tied up, bleeding, and begging for mercy.” A flicker of fear flashed across Fabio’s face, but he quickly masked it with an arrogant sneer.
His mind started reaching for a way out.
“Lucius,” he said, forcing his voice to steady, “your wife wasn’t hurt, was she?
No harm done.
Let’s call this a misunderstanding.” Lucius’s silence was more unnerving than any threat.
Fabio’s bravado cracked, and desperation seeped into his tone.
“Listen, we don’t have to end it like this,” he pleaded.
“We can negotiate.
I’ll give you whatever you want-money, connections, power.
Or… information.
You want Tsar, don’t you?
I can help you find him.
That’s what you want, right?” Fabio could only hope now to survive by Lucius’s hands.
“Let me live, and I’ll give you the truth about Tsar.
That’s worth more to you than my blood.” “I don’t need your money, connections, or power,” Lucius said coldly.

“I have plenty of those already.
You think your actions can be forgiven?
That there’s room for negotiation?
You’re wrong, Fabio.
Dead wrong.
And as for Tsar… I’ll find him on my own.
I don’t need your lies.” Before stepping back, he landed a vicious punch to Fabio’s gut, causing him to lurch forward in agony.
Fabio gasped for air, his breaths became shallow as more blood trickled from his already battered mouth.
Lucius straightened up, barely containing his anger not to beat Fabio until he would get unconscious.
“Zayne,” he called out, “you know what to do.” “Yes, Boss,” Zayne without hesitation stepped forward.
“What are you doing?” Fabio croaked, his voice barely audible through the pain.
His fear grew when Zayne began removing the restraints that held him captive.
“You’re under arrest for attempting to murder Mrs.
Layla Rosenzweig,” Zayne said, “you have right to hire a lawyer and remain quiet during the investigation.” Zayne cast a quick glance at Lucius before tightening his grip on Fabio’s arm and dragging him out of the warehouse.
Outside, his police team was already at work, rounding up and arresting the other accomplices involved in the attack.
Fabio’s face paled further as he watched his men being taken away.
Inside the warehouse, Roger approached Lucius, a leather bag clutched in his hand.
He gave his boss a wry look.
“You were too easy on Fabio, Boss.
Honestly, I thought you’d put a bullet in his head right then and there.” Lucius exhaled deeply and shook his head.
“Believe me, I wanted to,” he admitted.
“But I couldn’t have met Layla’s eyes afterward.
Her face…
it’s always there, does something to me, every time I pick up a gun.” Roger raised an eyebrow but said nothing, sensing there was more.
“But don’t mistake my restraint for mercy,” Lucius added.
“I’ve saved all of that for Tsar.
When I stand face-to-face with him, there won’t be any hesitation.
He won’t walk away alive.” “I hope so,” Roger replied, his tone skeptical yet loyal.
“By the way, I’ve sent men to comb through Fabio’s mansion.
Might still be some useful scraps left behind, though I wish you hadn’t burned it down.” Lucius turned to face him fully.
“It had to be done, Roger.
That estate wasn’t just a house-it was the foundation of his family’s power.
Fabio’s network operated out of there, and I couldn’t let it stand.
Burning it down was the only way to sever his legacy and send a message that no one should touch me or my people.” Roger nodded slowly.
“Well, the message was indeed loud enough for the rest of them to hear.” They both turned to leave and entered the car.
“Did Demitri tell you the truth, Boss?” Roger inquired.
“Yeah, he has,” Lucius replied.
There was weariness on his face which couldn’t go unnoticed.
“What did he tell you?” Roger asked with a worried gaze.
“Matteo wanted to do it for me.
He wanted to keep me away from something and to keep my future safe,” Lucius answered, his hands clutching the steering wheel tightly.
Roger couldn’t understand the meaning behind that and he knitted his brows together.
“Roger, when the time comes you and Aiden have to leave my side,” Lucius affirmed.
“What?
Why?” Roger looked at his boss with wide eyes.
“Because I will bring an end to everything soon.
Then, we don’t need to chase the truth.
You both will enjoy your own lives,” Lucius said, smiling.
However, behind that smile something deeper was hidden which Roger couldn’t comprehend.
He knew Lucius had something in his mind which he wasn’t ready to share with him.
