Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 267
Chapter 267: In your son’s favor Chapter 267: In your son’s favor “Why is it raining so bad?” Layla complained looking at the weather outside from the window.
Lucius’s arm hung on her one shoulder while on the other he rested his chin.
“It’s the month of rain, Wife.
Milan isn’t far from here, so don’t be so worried,” Lucius stated.
“So, are we ready to go?” he asked.
“Yes.
Let’s go!” Layla said with enthusiasm and hooked her arm with his.
As they made their way to the car, Layla asked, “Did you talk to Roger?
Do you think he’s doing well?” “Roger needs time.
I think I shouldn’t disturb him for a while.
Rest, Aiden is here so he will take care of everything.
Now, Sylvia has gone to her own house, so the situation is better here,” Lucius stated.
At the car, Lucius reached for the umbrella a bodyguard handed him, shielding them both from the rain.
He escorted her to the vehicle, opening the backseat door and letting her step in first.
Once Layla was comfortably seated, Lucius folded the umbrella and handed it back to the bodyguard before sliding in beside her.
The bodyguard quietly closed the door, and the car pulled away.
“I do feel Roger didn’t tell the entire truth while Sylvia chose to hide it,” Layla said and rested her head on his shoulder.
“I want Roger to be happy.
He doesn’t look good when he keeps that serious look on his face,” she murmured.
Lucius took out the phone from his pocket and checked the message he sent to Roger last night.
This was the first time Roger didn’t give him a response.
He texted Aiden asking him to go and see Roger.
“I thought Sylvia became such a person because Matteo died.
I didn’t know she would hold the past grudges like this and keep inflicting pain on Roger.
Do you think she will keep troubling in the future too?” Layla tilted her head up to look at him.
“I’ll make sure she doesn’t come near Roger,” Lucius replied.
“How?” Layla inquired.
“I’ve planted a spy who will watch Sylvia’s movements,” he affirmed.
His fingers threaded in her hair to caress it tenderly.
“You can sleep for some time,” he whispered while in the back of his head he kept thinking how to change Sylvia.

~~~ Fiona stepped out of the car and looked at the house where she never stepped in after her marriage.
The butler of the house recognised her and came toward her.
“Madam, please come this way.
It’s good to see you here after such a long time,” the butler said with a polite smile and led her way inside.
Fiona grabbed her handbag tightly and followed him inside.
Nothing had changed in the mansion, except for some of the wall photos.
As she walked in, her eyes landed on her brother and sister-in-law.
They were engrossed in a deep conversation but seeing her they both stopped.
“Fiona!” Davina exclaimed in shock and left her seat.
“Is this really you?
After so many years you have finally visited us,” she remarked and approached her.
“It’s good to see you here after such a long time,” Davina said with a smile and hugged Fiona.
“Me too.
I am happy to see you after a long time, Davia,” Fiona responded and the two pulled away.
“Here’s a small gift from my side.
Congrats on becoming a grandmother,” she asserted with a smile.
George watched their exchange while keeping the stoic expression on his face.
“Thank you.
Have a seat,” Davina said and glanced at her husband.
“Bring tea for my dear sister.
She loves to drink Chamomile tea,” he urged his wife.
“I’ll tell the servant,” Davina said.
She realized that her husband wanted to speak alone with Fiona, so she quietly left for the kitchen.
I thought you would not step foot here after the heated argument between you and father that time,” George pronounced with a flicker of curiosity sparking in his eyes.
“Let’s not bring up the past,” Fiona replied.
“Why didn’t you accept our late father’s offer.
You could have married someone else and lived a better life.
Did you enjoy staying a widow to Antoine all this time?” George asked.
“You thought one day your father-in-law will shower your son with his wealth and influence but in the end, he leaned toward your sister-in-law.
That’s why I used to tell you to join the company at least for your future.
You really have brought down the name of Valentino Family.” Fiona clenched her fists.
Her brother was no lesser than her father.
Taunting her for everything.
“If only you had helped me the day I refused to marry Antoine, I wouldn’t have been in this state.
And I loved being Antoine’s widow.
When he was alive, he gave me everything he could,” she stated, her eyes turning a bit teary.
George noticed his sister’s distress and apologized to her for his remarks.
“What do you want me to do?” he finally asked.
The servant came with the tea and served it to Fiona.
George allowed her to drink the tea.
As she lowered the cup to the saucer, Fiona said, “Layla isn’t easy to defeat.
There’s nothing regarding her which can cause scandal and threaten her position as the chairwoman.
I want you to find out something which can stir a problem for Layla.
What bothered me even the board members didn’t raise their voices against my father-in-law’s decision.” George knitted his brows together and clasped his both hands.
“I have to look into Layla’s profile before deciding what to do.
Your brother-in-law has earned quite a name in the market.
So, we need to be careful.
I don’t want any enmity with a mafia,” he explained to her.
“Lucius isn’t interested in the company,” Fiona said.
“I know.
However, his wife is.
Lucius was accused of Antoine’s murder in the past.
If you want, you can use it in your son’s favor.
That’s the only way to cause a stir in Layla’s professional life.
The company executives may not want Layla as the chairwoman then,” George asserted with a menacing look.
