Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 292
Chapter 292: The attitude I carry Chapter 292: The attitude I carry “What?
Really?” Demitri was quite bewildered, realizing at the same time, how small the world could be.
“Yes.
Why?” Nora turned a bit confused.
“It’s the company where I work too,” Demitri replied with a smile.
“I can’t believe you also got a job there.
So, will you stop working part-time?
And does Mr.
Morelli know that you’ve debts on you,” he asked, showing his genuine concern.
The waiter arrived with their orders and asked them to enjoy themselves after setting the dishes on the table.
“Since the pay is far more than I had expected, I will leave those part-time jobs,” Nora replied.
“That’s great.
Let’s begin eating then,” Demitri stated.
It was a light breakfast– a croissant and a coffee.
“I’ll pay,” Nora offered.
“Grandma will scold me.
Maybe you can treat me next time if we meet each other,” Demitri remarked, not letting her pay the bills.
Shortly, they both made their way out.
“Then, we shall depart our ways now.
But before that I would like to ask a favor from you.
Please tell your uncle that you didn’t find this date good.
Honestly, I came because of my grandmother.
I don’t have any intention to date anyone for now,” Demitri stated.
“Even if you hadn’t asked me for it, I would have told my uncle the same thing,” Nora stated, passing a small smile to him.
“Thank you,” Demitri replied.
“Should I drop you off at your home?
I suppose this isn’t your working day,” he asserted.
“Tomorrow is my first working day,” Nora replied.
“I need to inform you of the places where I used to work as a part-timer,” she answered.
“Ah, okay.

Then, goodbye.
If you get into any problem, you can call me any time,” Demitri said.
“Sure,” Nora said, holding the strap of her shoulder bag tightly.
“Then, I’ll leave first.” With that, she turned on her sports shoes and walked away.
“I hope everything goes well for her,” Demitri said and left in the same car in which he had come.
~~~~~ Layla read the report that the finance manager had handed her earlier when a knock on the door.
“Madam, Mr.
Neil Galanis is here,” Aiden informed her.
“Please take him to the board room.
I’ll be there shortly,” Layla instructed.
Aiden nodded and walked out.
She placed a pen between the pages, which she had been reading in the report and left for the board room.
Arriving there, Layla pushed open the glass door and walked in.
“Where’s Mr.
Galanis?” she asked, not finding him there.
She gazed at Aiden, who was quite flustered.
He himself escorted Neil to this room.
Neil’s assistant greeted her before answering, “Chairwoman, Mr.
Galanis thought you would take time to return.
So, he went outside for a walk,” Warren said with a trembling voice.
“Please call him here,” Layla said sternly.
Warren nodded and excused himself to make a call.
Stepping out of the office, he made a call to Neil.
“Where did you go, Mr.
Galanis?
The Chairwoman is in the boardroom,” he said while keeping his voice.
“I came to the first floor to pick up some coffee for us,” Neil said.
“Just come up here.
How can you be so careless?” Warren scolded him on the phone.
Neil put the phone away from his ear before hanging it up.
He bought a latte before making his way to the boardroom.
It took him almost ten minutes to arrive in the boardroom.
“What the hell is wrong with you, Mr.
Galanis?
You made the chairwoman wait for ten minutes.
And I told you not to bring anything,” Warren said with disbelief.
“Apologize to her first and be polite.” He was cursing himself internally for taking such a job.
“Seven minutes precisely,” Neil answered and sipped the latte before entering the boardroom.
Layla lifted her gaze as Neil made his way in.
“Good afternoon, Ma’am,” Neil said and pulled out a chair before sitting on it.
“Mr.
Galanis, you are the youngest man who made it into our company’s technical department.
But that doesn’t mean your position will remain permanent here,” Layla pronounced.
“Sadly, Grandpa wants me to be in this company forever.
We have signed a contract last month, Chairwoman,” Neil stated.
“I can’t believe Mrs.
De Salvo wants to let go of a talent like me,” he added, leaning casually against the chair.
“Please forgive Mr.
Galanis.
He is still young to understand all this, Mrs.
De Salvo,” said Warren in a humble tone.
“Please ask Mr.
Galanis to submit the first report of the new prototype model he wants to infuse.
I hope he doesn’t delay it.
Else, we have to go through his contract once again,” Layla stated and left her seat.
Neil glared at Layla, but didn’t say anything.
“There’s a clause in my contract that no one can make me leave the partnership from this company,” he stated.
Layla gazed at him.
“I have no intention to let you go.
If Father has chosen you, he must have seen something valuable in you.
I hope you respect him at least,” she asserted and walked out of the boardroom.
Neil rolled his eyes and sipped more latte.
“Let’s go, Warren,” he stood up, throwing the cup into the bin present in the boardroom.
“Galanis, you need to tone down and look at your attitude.
She is the chairwoman of this company.
Do you think Mr.
Alekis will overlook this matter just because he found your innovations special?” Warren began lecturing him as they made their way toward the elevator.
“Grandpa likes the attitude I carry.
Isn’t that why he decided to invest in me?” Neil muttered, ignoring his words completely.
He stepped into the elevator and pressed the button on the panel.
“Mr.
Alekis might like your attitude, but not everyone does,” Warren stated.
“What about you?
Do you hate working for me?
Just tell the truth.
Your face tells me all the time you curse me silently in your mind,” Neil said with a casual expression on his face.
Warren’s throat dried and he shook his head.
“Not at all,” he lied quickly.
Neil turned silent and waited for the elevator to reach the first floor.
As soon as it did, he made his way out only to encounter Lucius, the man for whom he joined decided to take investment from this company.
