Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 293
Chapter 293: Cannot delay it Chapter 293: Cannot delay it “Roger, did you push back my meetings for a later date?” Lucius asked as he walked through the lobby of the first floor, keeping his hand tucked inside his pocket.
“Boss, I have scheduled everything to a later date, after two weeks.
Rest of the work you have already finished,” Roger stated.
“And I sent someone to Demitri’s house.
The front house camera was broken.
We checked further and found out it was a delivery boy, who broke it.
Sadly, we could not trace back his route because after crossing the highway, he changed to the lane, where cameras aren’t installed yet,” he explained.
“Find out where that delivery boy works,” Lucius instructed him.
“I am on it, Boss,” replied Roger.
“Mr.
Lucius De Salvo!” A voice came through from the other side, specifically left, and it made the two men halt.
Lucius turned to check, who called him like this and saw it was Neil Galanis.
But why was he smiling so radiantly at him?
“Did he meet Layla?” Lucius murmured, glancing at Roger over his shoulder.
“I think so,” Roger replied.
Neil approached Lucius within seconds and forwarded his hand.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mr.
Lucius,” he said.
Warren followed Neil closely and greeted both Lucius and Roger.
They returned his greetings before focusing on Neil.
Lucius shook hands with him.
“Mr.
Galanis seems rather excited to see me,” he said.
“I always wanted to meet you.
But in the past, it couldn’t happen.
I’m surprised you know me,” Neil said, withdrawing his hand after Lucius pulled his own hand back.
“Why did you want me?” Lucius asked with an amused smile.
“And who doesn’t know the genius mind who made it into our company’s tech department at a young age.
I should also mention whoever met you so far complained about your arrogance, except for my Dad.” “That’s the way I am.
I don’t understand why people see me in a negative light.

Even the new chairwoman didn’t like me,” Neil muttered.
“Anyways, I have heard your name.
So, I always wanted to meet you,” he added.
Lucius didn’t find his answer intriguing.
He had heard this from a lot of people.
“I should go ahead.
My wife, the Chairwoman, must be waiting for me,” he stated.
“I hope you didn’t anger her.
If you had, then I might have to teach you some manners.” Patting Neil’s shoulder, he brushed past him, heading toward the elevator.
“Don’t provoke the Boss.
He is possessive of his wife,” Roger said.
“I didn’t do that.
Anyways, please tell Mrs.
Chairwoman that I apologize if I offended in some way,” he said and walked away.
Roger chuckled.
“What was that?
It seems he is a fan of my boss,” he murmured and rushed toward the elevator.
~~~~~ Layla turned off the screen after finishing the video conference with an investor.
She leaned back in the swivel chair, relaxing a bit.
“You were impressive,” Lucius said, rising to his feet from the office couch he was seated on.
He stood behind her and placed his hands on her shoulders.
Giving them a gentle massage, he continued, “You work hard.
I am proud of you.” She smiled and closed her eyes.
“How did your meeting go with Neil?” he asked.
“He was showing his bratty side.
So, I just warned him not to act like that because I might change his contract,” she asserted.
“I can’t believe he boasts so highly of himself.
He is just a few years younger than me.
But he is full of attitude.
It makes me remember Orabela.
She used to boast like him,” she murmured.
“Should I handle him in my way?” Lucius asked her.
Layla shook her head.
“No.
Your way is not allowed in the company matters,” she asserted.
“You are right.
Roderick and I met the chief architect.
Everything went well.
We both liked the design.
And…
I’ll be leaving for Russia tomorrow,” he confided in her.
“What?
This early?” Layla opened her eyes and turned her chair to look at him.
“I mean…
It’s not early but I thought you will go next week,” she remarked.
“I cannot delay it anymore,” Lucius said and got on his knees.
Holding her hands, he continued, “My brother’s death and Matteo’s death have some connection.
I need to find the answers soon and get over it,” he affirmed.
The determined glint in his eyes showed he wasn’t ready to go back now.
“Hmm.
I understand you.
Then, will Roger accompany you?” Layla asked him.
“Yes.
Roger will accompany me,” Lucius replied.
“I am worried already.
But I want to trust you and your instincts.
I also want you to find out the truth.
Whatever you do, just think of me once,” Layla said, her hands cupping his face.
“I know.
Also, I went through all of my men’s documents earlier.
None of them are suspicious.
But we found a lead.
Someone broke Demitri’s house CCTVs disguised as a delivery boy.
Aiden will look into the rest of the matter,” he pronounced.
“Okay.
But his house password was difficult to crack.
I mean…
Only you two knew about it.
I still believe someone around you is related to Tsar.
What if Tsar got all his information from this informant?” she muttered.
Lucius knitted his brows together.
“For now, I have to go to Russia.
I’ll find the answers there,” he said finally after contemplating for a few seconds.
“Hmm.
Shall we go for lunch then?
I feel hungry.
Let’s spend the rest of the time together with no one around us,” Layla said, smiling.
She wanted to ease his worries too.
“Sure.” Lucius agreed to it promptly and the two left for a fine restaurant.
~~~~ Aiden was done replying to the mails, so he turned off the computer.
Picking up the phone, he checked any important messages that he missed checking.
“What’s this?” Aiden murmured and clicked the message from Roger.
“If you are free, see me here.” He read the address below.
Dialing Roger’s number, he realized it was not connecting.
“Why did he go to such a place all by himself?” Aiden mumbled.
He picked up his blazer and car keys, rushing to the location which Roger had sent.
