Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 296
Chapter 296: Departed to Russia (1) Chapter 296: Departed to Russia (1) Layla stepped out of the washroom, after washing her face, and saw both Roderick and Demitri in the room.
“Are you fine?
You acted weird in the living room,” Roderick asked with worry.
“Yeah, I am fine,” Layla replied.
“You are already stressing yourself out.
Should I call Uncle back?” Roderick inquired.
“Don’t call him when he’s gone for such an important mission,” Layla said sternly and walked out of the room.
“Aren’t you a friend to my uncle?
Did you not stop Uncle from not going to Russia?” Roderick asked.
“The police should be involved in this, no?
You should at least think like a sane man.” “Rick, the police can’t do anything about this.
Aiden’s life will get in danger if Lucius doesn’t reach Russia,” Demitri said, not revealing much.
“Let’s go out.
Zayne should be here any time,” with that, he left first.
“I don’t get why Uncle has to risk his own life for the others,” he murmured and took out the phone from his pocket.
He dialed Lucius’s number and waited for him to answer the call.
“Yes, Rick?” Lucius answered the call right away.
“Uncle, I came to see you in the mansion and found out that Aiden got kidnapped.
Are you not going to take the help of the police?” He wanted Lucius to change his mind and not go to Russia unprepared.
“I am not,” Lucius replied.
“It’s surprising to see that you are concerned for me.
Seems like we have truly gotten closer,” he said and Roderick felt his uncle must be smiling behind that call.
“I’m serious, Uncle.
You are the reason why Grandpa made this so far.
Why don’t you ever listen?” Roderick got frustrated.
“Rick, you asked me to find who killed your father.
This time I’ll return with an answer,” Lucius said, finally becoming serious.
“I appreciate your concern.
But don’t be worried.
And don’t tell your grandpa about this,” he said, his tone laced with assurance.

“Okay.
I won’t tell Grandpa if you promise to return in one piece without any injury,” Roderick demanded.
“I promise,” Lucius replied promptly.
“Then, I’ll hang up.
Take care and return safely,” Roderick said and hung up the call.
~~~~ Zayne arrived at the mansion with the information that Layla awaited.
“Seraphina left the prison last week.
And the strange part is her punishment was suddenly pardoned.
The court thinks that she has reflected enough.
Sorry, Layla, but I had no idea that something like this was happening,” Zayne said, finally catching his breath.
“I need to head to the company and find out how she got hired,” Layla said, rising to her feet.
“Lucius doesn’t want you to go anywhere,” Demitri stopped her.
“Roderick and I will head for the company now,” he suggested.
“Well, I have a better idea.
I will call my secretary and ask him to go through all the hiring details.
In the meantime, you need to find out Zayne, who helped Seraphina,” Roderick said.
“Okay.
What about Aiden?
It was impossible to kidnap someone like him,” Zayne said, still shocked by the news.
“We have no idea how he got kidnapped,” Layla replied.
“And in such a short time, they even took him to Russia,” she muttered.
“Since Boss has gone there, I am sure he will bring him back safely.
Roger will also be with them, so don’t worry too much,” Zayne told Layla to ease her nerves.
“Lucius is going alone to Russia.
The caller told him to be alone,” Layla asserted, not showing the fear in her voice.
“Ahh.
Still, Boss has dealt with situations like these in the past too,” Zayne told her.
Though none of those situations were this dangerous, Lucius would generally be prepared.
“Hmm.” Layla’s mind and heart felt a bit relieved to hear that.
“I’ll go now and find out how Seraphina got freed,” Zayne said.
“Thank you,” Layla expressed her gratitude and watched him leave.
Meanwhile, Roderick called his secretary and asked him for the details regarding the hiring.
“Also go through the security cameras to find out what she has been doing in the company since the day she joined it.
If you find anything suspicious in the recordings, send it to me right away.” After giving out all the instructions, he cut the call.
“I can’t believe even after what she went through, she chose to deceive you again,” Roderick muttered with a bitter chuckle.
~~~~~ “Boss, should I really not follow you to Russia?” Roger asked as he handed the boarding pass and passport to Lucius.
“No.
It’s about Aiden’s life.
And the enemy is strong.
I can’t give him any weak spot to harm Aiden,” Lucius stated.
“Do you truly think Aiden will be unharmed?
If it’s truly Tsar, then he might…” Roger couldn’t finish his sentence and looked away, feeling vulnerable already.
“Nothing has happened to Aiden,” Lucius told him.
Roger looked at his boss and decided to believe his words.
“If I were in Aiden’s place, I would not have wanted to see you in Russia.
Just return safely, Boss.” “Aiden and you two are my family.
I can’t lose any of you,” Lucius said, placing his rough hand on Roger’s neck, and patting it.
Roger hugged Lucius and closed his eyes.
“In every mission like this, we always went together.
I will protect everyone behind your back,” he assured Lucius.
“I know, you will.” Lucius pulled away and grasped the leather straps of his bag.
“I must leave now.
You go straight home.
Make sure Layla goes to bed.
I know she won’t sleep, but just make a small request from her to take some rest,” he asserted.
“I will make sure Madam gets to rest,” Roger said.
Lucius turned on his heels and went to the gate.
Soon, he disappeared from Roger’s sight.
He remained there until the flight to Russia departed before leaving for home.
