Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 297
Chapter 297: Departed To Russia (2) Chapter 297: Departed To Russia (2) Roderick got every detail from his secretary.
“She indeed has used a fake identification card to enter our company, Layla.
But the question is how she did it,” he asserted.
Layla watched the clips of the recordings that Roderick’s secretary had shared.
“What’s she doing near the reception desk?” She murmured and zoomed the screen.
“Why is she placing a phone here and who’s this receptionist?
I didn’t remember seeing her before,” Layla muttered.
Demitri leaned close as he looked at the tablet’s screen.
“It’s Nora,” Demitri replied.
“She is a new receptionist in the company,” he added.
“I see.
That’s why I couldn’t recognize her.
But what’s she talking about with Seraphina?
Are they both connected to each other?” Layla murmured with a confused gaze.
“I know Nora.
I don’t think she knows Seraphina.
And in this recording, Seraphina is giving something to her,” Demitri asserted.
“How do you know her and how can you be so sure?” Roderick asked with doubts lingering in his head.
“Nora is a distant niece of an uncle I have from my place.
We shouldn’t judge anyone without thoroughly investigating it,” Demitri opined.
“If you know Nora, then call her,” Roderick suggested.
“Ask her what Seraphina was talking to her,” he added, insisting he make a call to Nora.
Demitri pulled out the phone from his pocket and stood up.
He dialed Nora’s number and waited for her to answer the call.
Layla, on the other hand, decided to speak with her father.
She picked her own phone and called Darius.
Excusing herself, she went to the garden as her father had answered the call.
“Layla!
How are you?
You called me after such a long time.

Miriam and I were thinking of visiting you tomorrow.” Darius’s cheerful tone came from the other side.
“Dad, I’m not good,” Layla replied.
She didn’t want to keep the mask of being alright in front of her father anymore.
“Why?
What happened?” Darius turned a bit serious and concerned this time.
“Dad, Seraphina is not in prison.
Did she meet you?” Layla directly inquired.
“No, she didn’t.
Wait!
Why is she out of the prison?
Her sentence was long,” Darius said, getting a little flustered.
“Are you speaking the truth, Dad?” Layla doubted her father.
And why wouldn’t she?
That man was the reason why everything in their lives had been messed up.
But was making any complaint now even of any use?
“Why would I lie?
I’ve ended up ties with Seraphina the day she was proven guilty.
I was always soft on her, thinking I did wrong to her, but it all ended when…” Darius sighed on the phone as he took a brief pause before continuing, “it’s of no use now.
I didn’t meet her, Layla.
Trust me.
She couldn’t come out of the prison this early.” “She has, Dad,” Layla said.
“Did she do something to you or Lucius?” Darius asked from the other side.
“No.
But it seems she will soon.
She has changed her identity and entered my father-in-law’s company as a cleaning lady,” Layla said.
“I will find out what she is .
Give me some time.
And I am sorry for what you two have been undergoing,” Darius apologized feeling guilty.
Layla felt upset because she genuinely felt Darius was embarrassed and guilty of his past actions.
“It’s fine.
Don’t do anything.
I’ll handle it.
And don’t tell Mom anything,” she urged in the end.
“Sure.
Still, if there’s something I can be of help, do tell me,” Darius asserted.
“Hmm.” Layla didn’t give a straight response and hung up the call.
Darius lowered the phone and furrowed his brows together.
“How can Seraphina come out of the prison?
And she even changed her name!?
I thought she would repent,” he muttered and called his secretary.
When the phone was answered, Darius said, “Find out where Seraphina is.
Report to me as soon as you find out about her.” “Yes, Sir,” the secretary took the order and the call disconnected.
“I won’t let Seraphina ruin Layla’s life this time,” Darius murmured and leaned back on the chair.
It didn’t take his secretary long to find out about Seraphina through his resources.
He called back Darius and said, “Sir, someone powerful is involved in freeing Seraphina from the prison.” “Where is she living these days?” Darius asked.
“Umm…
It’s a commercial residence.
I have sent you the address, Sir,” he informed.
“Alright.
Thank you,” Darius cut the call and checked the message.
“I need to see her now.
I have to stop her before she does something to Layla,” he muttered and rose from the chair, ready to leave.
~~~~ Meanwhile, Demitri couldn’t connect to Nora and gave up after trying it for multiple times.
“Sorry, but Nora isn’t answering my calls,” Demitri said.
“She is suspicious,” Roderick said.
“For money, people can do anything,” he added.
“But she’s not that kind of person,” Demitri defended Nora.
“And what if she is?” Roderick asked.
Layla saw they both were arguing, so she asked them to stop.
“We will find out the rest in the morning,” she asserted.
“But what if they both disappear in the morning?
Moreover, I’ve already sent my secretary to go to the address that Seraphina provided in the hiring documents,” Roderick informed her.
“Okay.
But we will interrogate Nora tomorrow.
I trust Demitri,” Layla said and sat back on the couch.
“Roger didn’t return yet,” she murmured and wondered if she should call him.
At that very moment, Roger stepped into the mansion.
“Boss has left for Russia,” he informed Layla.
“Why are you here?” He frowned to see Roderick.
“I’ll be going upstairs,” Layla said and left.
She wanted to be alone in the bedroom.
“She is already stressed,” Demitri said.
“Let’s find out when Aiden left for the company.
Also, we will check the surroundings CCTVs to find out where his car went,” he pronounced.
“Yes, please do.
But your system isn’t here.
How are you supposed to do that?” Roderick asked him.
“Is that of any use now?
Aiden is in Russia.
Even if we find out how he left, it won’t help my uncle or us,” Roderick said, wondering why they were wasting time on that.
“It’s crucial to find every detail in such situations,” Roger told him.
“I’ll use the computer in Lucius’s study,” Demitri said.
“Then, let’s start,” Roger pronounced and they headed to the study room.
“You stay here.
You aren’t allowed to go home tonight,” he instructed Roderick before they both disappeared from his sight.
~~~~~ Lucius landed in Russia in the early morning and the first thing he did was drop a message to Layla.
He hoped she would be sleeping, but she wasn’t.
His phone immediately rang.
He answered her call and brought it to his ear.
“Layla, I’m in Moscow.
Just take some rest,” Lucius said.
“I slept earlier,” Layla replied from the other side.
“Did you have dinner?” Lucius inquired.
“Yes,” she lied.
“It’s midnight in Rome, I suppose.
Just sleep,” he softly said.
“Okay, I will sleep now,” she told him, keeping his heart.
“You’ll find me with you tomorrow.
I promise.
So, just take a rest.
You need it,” Lucius again said softly from the other side.
“Yes, I know,” she asserted.
“Goodluck.
If you need any help from us, then just tell us.” “Yes, I’ll inform you or Roger,” Lucius said and finally hung up the call.
As he stepped out of the airport, a man blocked his path.
“This way, Mr.
De Salvo,” the man said, gesturing to his left towards the parked black car.
“First, tell me who you are?” Lucius asked.
Just then, his phone rang and he frowned.
Taking the call, the same man who blackmailed him to come to Russia said, “I am the one whom you were dying to meet.
Get in the car and don’t delay it.” Lucius cut the call and went to the car.
Sliding into the backseat, he waited for the car to start.
After two hours, Lucius was finally in a magnificent estate.
He walked through the cobblestone pavement while holding the leather bag in his hand when two guards came forward and stopped him for the checking.
One of them took the duffle bag from him while the other checked Lucius’s clothes.
Once all checks were done, he was taken inside the mansion.
In the living room, a man was seated with a cigar in his hand.
Since the sun hadn’t risen above the horizon yet, the living room was still enshrouded in the darkness.
Lucius finally halted as he arrived in the living room.
The lamp on the sofa side table turned on and the man was visible to Lucius.
“Who are you?” Lucius furrowed his brows together.
He had expected to see the Tsar, but it was a man in his sixties.
“Where’s Aiden, my friend?
And what do you want from me?” he asked.
“I’m Vladimir Romanov, your father.” ~~~~~ Any ideas?
