Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 314
Chapter 314: Carry your sin Chapter 314: Carry your sin “Out of all the paths you could have taken, you chose the one that would destroy you.
You could have better friends than him, but you never listened to me ” Tears welled up in her eyes, but she pushed forward.
“Lucius, I never imagined Vladimir would continue his search for so long,” she whispered.
“I thought I had escaped him.” Lucius’s expression remained unreadable.
Then, with a calm tone, he spoke again.
“Tell me the rest of the truth.” Evelina hesitated, but the torment in her son’s gaze forced her to continue.
“Vladimir was behind Antoine’s death,” she admitted, and a sob escaped her lips.
“He planned the attack… He wanted to force me out of hiding.
When he found out I had married Alekis, he wanted to make me suffer.
Killing Antoine and you were his way of delivering a message.
He didn’t know you were his son.” Tears streamed down her face as she stepped closer, reaching for Lucius’s hands.
She squeezed them tightly.
“I’m sorry, Lucius.
I am so, so sorry,” she choked out.
“But none of it was your fault.” Lucius stared at her hands gripping his.
His entire body felt like it was burning with rage, grief, and disgust.
With a sharp movement, he yanked his hands away, as if her touch itself repulsed him.
“You ruined us,” he spat coldly.
“You should have left me in Russia before running away.
Instead, you dragged me into this hell and abandoned me in it.
This fact will never change that Antoine died because of a man, who is my father, your first husband.” Evelina’s breath hitched.
“You disgust me,” Lucius continued, his eyes filled with nothing but contempt.
“You’ve always pretended to care.
I begged for the truth, but you let me drown in my own madness after Antoine died.
You watched me break… and you did nothing.
And after Matteo’s death, you still didn’t bother to tell me they were behind it.
I could have stopped all of this right there.” His words shattered her.
A silence heavier than any storm settled between them.
Evelina had no more words, no more excuses.
She could only stand there, broken beneath the weight of her past sins.

“Lucius, I will go and beg Vladimir to let you go,” she whispered with a hopeful gaze.
Lucius let out a dry, humorless chuckle, his expression twisting with disappointment.
He shook his head in disbelief before his lips curled into a bitter smirk.
“Are you kidding me?” he scoffed, his tone laced with sheer disbelief.
“After everything that’s happened, after the lives that have been destroyed, you think begging Vladimir is the solution?” His voice rose, his emotions no longer restrained.
“Shouldn’t you have done this the day Antoine died?
When I was fighting for my own damn life?!” He bellowed, his rage echoing through the room.
Evelina flinched as if she had been struck.
Tears spilled down her cheeks, but Lucius didn’t waver.
“Where was this desperation when I was bleeding out?
Where was this courage when I needed you the most?” His eyes bore into hers, burning with the pain of years of abandonment.
“Now, when it’s too late, you want to throw yourself at Vladimir’s feet?
Do you think he’ll suddenly grow a conscience and change?
That fucking bastard killed two people whom I regarded everything in my life.
You know I read this line a long time ago– Your children carry the sins of their parents.
I am the one who will always carry your sin, the sin of ruining lives.” ~~~~ “Whenever Grandma comes here, Uncle becomes madder,” Roderick remarked, his gaze shifting toward his grandfather.
Alekis exhaled deeply, his expression unreadable as he watched the closed study door.
“Rick, it’s important for Lucius to know the entire truth about the Romanovs.
And only his mother holds those answers,” he explained in a measured tone.
Roderick frowned, his fingers clenching at his sides.
“Grandpa, all of this seems messed up to me,” he admitted, frustration lacing his voice.
He wanted to say more, to voice the thoughts raging inside him, but as his eyes flickered to Layla, he forced himself to stay silent.
Some things were better left unsaid, at least for now.
“It was always messed up,” Layla spoke up, her voice steady but laced with frustration.
Her gaze swept across the room before settling on Lucius.
“Lucius was affected by all of this from the very beginning.
He joined the mafia because he knew his real father was someone untouchable.
He knew his mother had been hiding the truth from him all along,” she proclaimed, her words carrying both anger and sorrow.
“But after joining hands with Matteo, Uncle was fully exposed to the mafia world,” Roderick argued, his arms crossed.
He refused to believe that everything was predetermined-that Lucius had no choice in the matter.
Layla turned to him, her eyes sharp.
“Vladimir had always been searching for Lucius, Roderick.
It was inevitable,” she countered.
“Even Matteo tried to protect him by keeping the truth from Tsar.
He knew what would happen if the truth came out.” “Layla, now, we all are in danger,” Roderick said.
“No.
Tsar is captured, so will be his father soon,” Layla stated with a confident tone.
“I just hope Uncle get rid of this mess soon,” he muttered.
They saw Lucius coming to the living room and Evelina was behind him.
Demitri, Roger, and Aiden stood together, their gazes locked onto Lucius, searching for any sign that he had finally found the answers he had been desperately seeking.
But his demeanor gave nothing away.
Alekis, Layla and Roderick left their seats to see them.
“Tell them how and why Antoine died,” Lucius told his mother as he finally stopped.
Fiona, who just returned from the kitchen, heard Lucius’s statement and glanced at Evelina.
“Lucius, leave this matter,” Alekis tried stopping him.
“No.
My mother committed a sin and I am ready to carry that sin all my life,” Lucius pronounced.
