Real Heiress: Flash Marriage With Boyfriend's Uncle - Chapter 318
Chapter 318: Let’s hunt down Vladimir Chapter 318: Let’s hunt down Vladimir Lucius woke abruptly in the middle of the night, his senses instantly alert.
The dim glow of the bedside lamp cast soft shadows across Layla’s peaceful face.
Careful not to disturb her, he gently lifted her head and placed it on the pillow before slipping out from under the duvet.
Moving silently, he picked up his phone and stepped out of the room.
The silence of the night surrounded him as he made his way downstairs.
His earlier headache had faded after a few hours of sleep, leaving his mind clearer.
Checking his phone, he noted the absence of any calls or messages from Vladimir.
A faint sense of unease settled in his chest.
Descending the staircase, he entered the living hall, its vast emptiness shrouded in darkness.
He sank onto the couch, his fingers moving swiftly to dial a number-a landline belonging to a woman named Varya Sokolov.
Lucius had intended to meet her in Russia before Aiden’s kidnapping had derailed his plans.
He didn’t hold high hopes of the call being answered, considering the late hour and the nature of the contact.
Yet, to his surprise, the line connected.
“Hello,” a woman’s voice resonated through the receiver.
“Hello.
Is this Varya Sokolov?” Lucius asked to confirm first.
“Yes.
Who are you?
How did you get this number?” she demanded with a suspicious tone.
“I’m Lucius De Salvo from Italy.” A brief silence followed before Varya repeated his name in a whisper, as if trying to place it.
“I got your number from my friend’s old contact list,” Lucius explained, anticipating her next question.
“Tell me your friend’s name,” Varya said, her voice carrying a sharp edge.
“Matteo Mancini,” he replied.
The shift in her breathing was almost imperceptible, but Lucius caught it.
Recognition flickered in her voice as she spoke again.
“Why are you contacting me?” “I need your help, Miss Sokolov,” Lucius stated without hesitation.
“Matteo once spoke highly of you.
He told me that if I ever needed assistance in Russia, you were the person to approach.” A heavy silence settled between them before Varya’s voice hardened.
“Matteo is dead.
I have no reason to help,” she said curtly, ready to hung up on him.

Lucius heard the subtle rustle of movement, sensing she was about to hang up.
He reacted swiftly.
“I want to bring the truth to the world about Matteo’s death.
I want justice for him.
And I need your help to do that,” he said, urgency threading his voice.
“Vladimir Romanov is the one I need to catch.
His son, Tsar Romanov, is already in custody, but he refuses to speak about his father.” There was a sharp intake of breath on the other end.
“Tsar has been caught?” Varya asked in disbelief.
“Yes,” Lucius confirmed.
“He’s in custody, but he won’t give us anything on Vladimir.” Another pause hit between them.
Then Varya asked, “How do you expect me to help?
And how much did Matteo tell you about me?” “That you’re one of the legends in the underworld,” Lucius replied without hesitation.
A faint chuckle echoed through the line.
For a moment, Varya allowed herself to recall the past-Matteo had called her the same once, during their third meeting.
That memory now felt like it belonged to another lifetime.
“You’re in Italy, Lucius.
Vladimir is somewhere in Russia.
What exactly are you asking from me?” she finally questioned.
“I’ll be there in the next few hours,” he informed her.
“Answer my call when I land.” Varya exhaled.
“I don’t risk my men’s lives for just anyone.
If I get involved, I need to know your plan.” “No lives will be harmed,” Lucius assured her.
“I can’t bring my men from here, which is why I need yours.
But I’ll lead them.
I have no concrete plan yet-only one goal.” Varya leaned back in her chair, contemplating his words.
“And that is?” she asked.
“To capture Vladimir Romanov.” Lucius’s voice was steady, unwavering.
Silence stretched between them before Varya finally responded.
“Then I hope, Lucius De Salvo, that you are as capable as Matteo believed you to be,” Varya remarked with skepticism and curiosity.
Though she wanted to believe in the man Matteo had entrusted with her contact, trust was not something she gave easily.
Lucius responded with unwavering confidence.
“Of course.
You won’t be disappointed.” There was a brief pause before he posed an unexpected question.
“Can I trust you when I land in Russia?” Varya let out a quiet chuckle.
“Isn’t that a strange question?
Do you think I’ll betray you?” she asked, amusement lacing her words.
Lucius remained serious.
“Because I have only one chance to catch Vladimir.
That is why I need your confirmation.” Varya’s amusement faded, replaced by a sense of understanding.
“Varya Sokolov never lies when it comes to business with the right people.
Come to Russia and call me.
You’ll find me.” A small smirk played on Lucius’s lips.
“Thank you, Miss Sokolov.” With that, the call ended, leaving only silence in the living hall.
Lucius leaned back against the couch, his mind already racing with the next steps.
“Boss, what are you doing here at this hour?” Roger’s voice cut through the quiet of the hall.
Lucius tilted his head slightly, turning on the flashlight of his phone.
The sudden glow illuminated Roger’s face as he yawned, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.
Without waiting for an answer, Roger settled into the seat across from Lucius and switched on the lamp.
The soft glow filled the room, prompting Lucius to turn off his phone’s light.
“I just got off a call with an old friend of Matteo’s in Russia,” Lucius stated.
“Roger, we need to go there and capture Vladimir.
I’m not taking anyone else-only you.
Are you ready to accompany me?” A slow smirk stretched across Roger’s lips.
“I am always ready,” he replied without hesitation.
His eyes gleamed with anticipation.
“My boss has finally returned to his true form.
Let’s hunt down Vladimir Romanov and end his chapter once and for all.”
