Chapter 334: You speak a lot
“Do you have to go somewhere?” Nora asked.
“My grandmother has visited me. She will be here for a few days and she wants to see you,” Demitri said.
“Huh? Me?” Nora’s eyes widened in shock.
“She talked to your uncle, who told her that you are having a day off. Are you living with your uncle?” Demitri asked with a frown because he felt weird knowing that Nora shared every single detail with him.
“Ah, no. It’s not like that. Uncle and Aunt have come a few days ago. So, they are staying at my place,” Nora cleared his confusion.
“Then, do you want to visit my grandmother? I can give her an excuse if you want. I think that will be better because my grandmother is kind of looking forward for our relationship,” Demitri truthfully told her.
“I don’t think lying to an older person is a good thing,” Nora stated.
“Alright, then. If my grandmother asks about dating me, then you can tell her that you don’t like me,” Demitri said. It was more of a request from her.
Nora stared at him for a moment before nodding her head. “Sure. I will do that,” she replied.
“Thanks.” Demitri fastened the seatbelt, turned on the engine and drove off to his home.
“By the way, why do we both always cross our paths like this?” After covering a certain distance he broke the ice.
“I don’t know. I was here to open my account in this bank. The HR told me that it’s better if I have account in this bank,” Nora stated.
“I see. Are you enjoying the work?” Demitri inquired.
“Yes. It’s fun. I’ve other colleagues too for the front desk job. They all are nice. I should say the company environment is conducive and everyone is friendly. I am glad I got to work in such a big organization,” Nora replied with a smile.
Demitri smiled to hear her words.
“Do you know the Chairwoman of our company is the daughter-in-law of De Salvo family? And the true heir of the family didn’t become the chairman. Many were talking about this in the company,” Nora pronounced.
“I didn’t know you speak a lot,” Demitri remarked, causing Nora’s smile to fade slowly.
“You can speak,” he said, smiling a little. “It’s just you were so quiet for the three times we have met. I’m glad you have found joy.”
Nora bit her bottom lip and lowered her eyes.
“Hey, what happened?” Demitri poked her. “You were speaking about Layla,” he said.
Nora tilted her head to look at him, wondering why he was taking her name so casually. Just then, she realized he was friends with Lucius which meant he knew Layla too.
“I was just telling you the gossip. You hardly come to the office, so,” Nora murmured in a low voice.
“So, are we going to be gossip buddies from now on?” Demitri asked.
“If you don’t mind,” Nora replied. “But I won’t disturb you. I know you are a programmer, who needs to focus a lot on his work,” she needed.
“An ethical hacker, Miss,” Demitri corrected her.
“Yeah. That… An ethical hacker,” Nora answered and looked out of the window.
Demitri glanced at her for a millisecond before turning his gaze back to the road.
After arriving home, Demitri led Nora’s way inside the main gate and pressed the bell on the door. She was mesmerized by the big house, surrounded by the garden.
Alessia opened the door, her gaze immediately landing on the young woman standing beside Demitri. Her eyes sparkled with recognition and joy as she turned to him.
“Nora!” she exclaimed, her face lighting up with warmth.

“Yes, Grandma,” Demitri confirmed with a nod.
Nora offered a polite greeting, but before she could say more, Alessia pulled her into a gentle embrace, her touch filled with affection. “Welcome, my dear,” she said warmly, guiding her inside.
Demitri quietly closed the door behind him, watching as his grandmother and Nora walked ahead, already immersed in conversation. A soft smile played on his lips at the sight of his grandmother’s happiness.
Deciding to give them space, he made his way to the kitchen. His grandmother had not only finished her meal but had also washed the dishes—a habit she refused to let go of, no matter how many times he offered to do it for her. Shaking his head fondly, he reached for a glass, filled it with fresh water, and placed it neatly on a tray.
With a steady hand, he carried it back to the living room, where his grandmother and Nora sat comfortably, chatting as if they had known each other forever.
“Have water,” Demitri told her.
Nora thanked him and grabbed the glass of water. She took slow sips while Demitri placed the tray on the table.
“I’m going upstairs to rest,” Demitri informed his grandmother before turning away and heading up the stairs.
Alessia watched him go, a thoughtful expression crossing her face. Once he was out of sight, she turned her full attention to Nora.
“My grandson lives alone,” she said with a hint of concern. “Sometimes, I worry about him. He’s already 35, yet he doesn’t seem to have any interest in settling down. He used to date someone, but I don’t know what happened between them. Whatever it was, it must have been serious because now, Demitri refuses to even consider dating.”
Nora sat still, unsure of how to respond. A part of her felt like an outsider in such a personal matter, and she didn’t want to say the wrong thing. So, she remained quiet, offering only a small, understanding nod as she listened.
Alessia studied Nora for a moment before leaning in slightly, her voice turning hopeful.
“Are you also not interested in him?” she asked, her eyes searching Nora’s face for a reaction. “Why don’t you give my grandson a chance? He’s a good man—kind, responsible, and hardworking. He has a decent salary, too,” she added, as if listing his best qualities would convince her.
Nora’s lips parted slightly in surprise. She hadn’t expected such a direct suggestion and wasn’t sure how to respond. ‘I am not in a position to date anyone,’ she thought.
