Chapter 345: Avoid me for days
Roderick flicked Ivy’s forehead, making her wince slightly in pain. Before she could retaliate, he grabbed her wrist and dragged her toward the bedroom, ignoring her constant whining about just one kiss.
“You’re impossible,” she grumbled while pouting.
Roderick remained unfazed as made her lie down and pulled the duvet over her. “Sleep,” he ordered firmly before straightening up and walking out of the room without another word.
He shut the door behind him and went to the living area, placing the bottles on the table. With a tired sigh, he finally headed to his own room, ready to get some much-needed rest.
As he slid under the duvet, a small chuckle escaped his lips. “She’s going to avoid me for days,” he muttered to himself.
But just as he was about to drift off, soft knocks echoed from his door.
“Rick, let me sleep with you. Please,” Ivy’s voice came from the other side.
Roderick blinked a few times, his brows furrowing in confusion. He hesitated before getting out of bed and opening the door, only to find Ivy leaning against the wall, her head resting against it.
She tilted her head up, her eyes glassy and filled with unshed tears. “Rick… please don’t leave me,” she whispered in a fragile voice.
Realizing she was totally drunk, Roderick exhaled and gently grasped her arm. “Come inside,” he said, guiding her in.
Ivy immediately climbed onto the bed, curling up under the covers. Without a word, Roderick adjusted the duvet over her before walking to the other side of the bed. As he settled in, he noticed Ivy’s gaze fixed on him.
“I don’t want Elliot to live happily,” she murmured. “He hurt me so badly. I want him to suffer even worse than I did.”
Roderick simply hummed, acknowledging her words. He didn’t try to console her or offer false reassurances. Instead, he simply stayed there, listening—because right now, that was what she needed the most.
“Say something,” Ivy said.
“What?” Roderick asked.
“That he will suffer,” Ivy mumbled.
“Of course, he will regret losing you,” Roderick replied.
Ivy slowly closed her eyes as if she got her answer. Shortly, she drifted off to sleep while Roderick simply smiled. He propped on his elbows and switched off the bedside lamp. He snuggled Ivy close to him and shut his own eyes.

Lucius and Layla had finally arrived at a cozy cottage in Zurich, where they would be staying for a week while exploring the surrounding areas. The moment they stepped inside the cottage’s room, Layla beamed with excitement and immediately jumped onto the bed.
“This mattress is so soft,” she murmured, sinking into its plush mattress.
Turning her head, she watched as Lucius shrugged off his thick jacket, followed by his sweater.
“Did you see how the entire city is covered in snow?” she asked, her voice filled with childlike wonder.
Lucius glanced at her as he placed his jacket and sweater neatly over a chair. “Yeah,” he replied simply before shifting his gaze back to her. “You should take off those extra layers too. Then you can lie down comfortably,” he suggested.
Layla extended her arms toward him, and Lucius grasped them firmly, pulling her up with ease. Without a word, he reached for the zipper of her jacket, slowly pulling it down before slipping it off her shoulders. He removed her muffler next.
“Lucius,” she murmured.
“Hmm?” His blue eyes locked onto hers.
Layla slowly wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer. His breath hitched for a brief moment, but he didn’t resist. Instead, he allowed her to draw him in, his hands pressing into the mattress on either side of her.
“Lucius, we’re alone,” she whispered. “Far from everyone and all our worries. Do you like it?”
He held her gaze, taking in the sincerity in her voice. “Yeah,” he answered.

His right hand lifted to her forehead, gently brushing away the strands of hair that had fallen over her face. His fingertips barely grazed her skin, but the tenderness of the touch sent a warmth through her.
Layla’s heart pounded against her chest as she watched him with anticipation. Lucius held her gaze for a moment longer before finally leaning in, capturing her lips in a kiss.
A soft moan escaped her as their lips moved in sync and their breaths mingled. They nibbled and tasted, savoring each other with an urgency that neither of them had expected.
Without hesitation, Layla pushed him down onto the mattress and straddled him, her fingers pressed against his chest as she gazed down at him.
Lucius smirked, his hands resting naturally on her waist. “I thought you were tired,” he murmured.
Layla let out a soft chuckle, tracing her fingers along his jaw. “My exhaustion is gone,” she whispered.
Lucius tightened his grip on her waist, his eyes darkening as he pulled her closer. “Then I suppose we have the entire night to enjoy,” he said with a grin.
“Yeah,” she murmured, her fingers slowly working through the buttons of his shirt. One by one, they came undone, revealing the warmth of his skin beneath.
Her cold fingertips traced over his chest, the contrast in temperature making him let out a low groan. A satisfied smile played on her lips as she leaned down, pressing a lingering kiss against his throat, right over his Adam’s apple.
Lucius’s breath hitched, his hands instinctively tightening around her hips. She continued her trail of kisses, her lips brushing over the sensitive skin of his neck, leaving a path of warmth in their wake.
“Layla,” he groaned, her name escaping his lips like a plea.
Lucius sucked in a sharp breath, his muscles tensing as Layla’s lips continued their slow, torturous descent. Her teeth grazed his skin again, sending a shiver through him before she soothed the mark with the flick of her tongue.
A low groan rumbled in his chest, his fingers digging into her hips as she pressed herself against him. Layla let out a breathy moan when she felt the hardness beneath his trousers, pressing against her core.
“You’re driving me insane,” Lucius murmured with desire.
She smirked against his skin, reveling in the effect she had on him. Her lips trailing lower, ready to explore every inch of his heated skin.
Lucius let out a curse under his breath, flipping her onto her back in a swift motion, his body hovering over hers. His smirk matched hers as he ran his thumb over her swollen lips. “Enough of this torture. It’s my turn, now,” he smirked.
