Chapter 252: Chapter 251- Happy Ending
The world was finally at peace.
News of the events in the arena had spread quickly across every land. Along with that news came a divine announcement—an angel appeared shortly after Alex and delivered a message that shook the world: their world had qualified for Ascension. In just ten days, the process would begin.
It was a message of hope, one worth celebrating.
And celebrate they did.
Ever since the announcement, the entire world has been wrapped in joy and excitement. Streets were filled with music, laughter, and light. People danced, feasted, and decorated their homes. For the first time in a long while, there was no fear—only happiness and anticipation.
After all, they had survived something they were never meant to survive. They had stood against an enemy far beyond their power. Their world had been in danger, and yet, somehow, the crisis passed without the world even having to fight back.
Among the many stories being shared, one rumor stood out. Whispers claimed that a human warrior—someone believed to be dead, someone who had lived in hiding for months—was the true reason behind the gods’ decision. Some believed this warrior had done something that changed the minds of the deities themselves.
But not everyone believed it. Most people found the idea silly. How could one person, no matter how strong, make the gods break their own rules? It just didn’t seem possible.
And yet… the rumor refused to fade.
…
“Haah, I feel so stupid,” Edric muttered, his voice barely louder than the wind as he sat on the edge of the rooftop, legs dangling. His eyes were fixed on the horizon, but his mind was somewhere far away.
Below him, the academy was still alive with laughter and music. Students were dancing, sharing stories, and enjoying what little time they had left before they would leave for the Upper Realm.
Amanda sat beside him, close enough to feel his warmth. She held out a chocolate-covered strawberry and gently placed it near his lips. “Isn’t it better that everything turned out fine? You’re safe. Everyone is.” She smiled softly, trying to meet his eyes.
Edric took the strawberry and bit into it slowly, letting the sweetness linger in his mouth. “I trained so hard for the contest… and in the end, Alex just stole the spotlight. It’s like none of it mattered.” His voice was quiet, but the disappointment was clear.
Amanda giggled, brushing his hair back with her fingers. “Don’t worry. You’ll have plenty of chances to prove yourself in the Upper Realm.”
She looked up at the sky, her expression thoughtful. “From what the Curse told us, that place is a whole new world. Strong people everywhere, and endless challenges. You’ll shine there, Edric. I know you will.”
Edric didn’t say anything for a while. He just watched the stars begin to peek out in the darkening sky, their light soft and distant.
“…Thanks,” he said at last, the edge of a smile forming on his face. “I guess I just needed to hear that.”
Amanda leaned her head on his shoulder, and for a while, they sat there in silence, together, above a world that was already starting to change.
After a brief pause, Edric glanced at Amanda and spoke, his voice uncertain.
“Hey… after we move to the Upper Realm… do you wanna… um, you know—like…”
He trailed off awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck.
Amanda tilted her head, eyes locked on his, but said nothing. She wasn’t going to help him say it. If he really meant it, she wanted to hear every word from him.
Edric let out a shaky breath and looked away for a moment, gathering his courage. Then he turned to face her fully, meeting her gaze with quiet determination.
With a steady voice, he said, “Would you live with me when we get to the Upper Realm? Not just as my girlfriend… but as my wife?”
Amanda’s eyes widened slightly, her lips parting in surprise, then curling into a warm smile.
“If this is a proposal,” she teased softly, “I hope you’ve brought a ring.”
Edric gave a stiff, almost nervous nod and reached into his pocket. He pulled out a small velvet box and opened it, revealing a simple yet elegant ring that shimmered under the evening light.
“I actually bought this before the contest,” he said, voice low but full of feeling. “I knew I’d come back to you one day… and when I did, I wanted to do this right.”
Amanda stared at the ring for a moment, then back at Edric. Her eyes shimmered—not with surprise, but with something deeper.

Edric, finally, asked it directly, “Will you marry me, Amanda?”
A beautiful smile adorned her lips, her eyes crescent, as she responded, “Yes, I’d love to. Make me your bride.”
And for a moment, all the noise from below-the music, the laughter, the celebrations—faded into nothing. It was just the two of them, on that quiet rooftop, sharing a promise beneath the stars.

“I love him,” Celestria muttered aloud as she saw Alex cooking food for them.
The four ladies were sitting on a couch, watching him with a similar expression.
They all were admiring the sight with a faint smile on their faces.
“Me too.” Rebecca exhaled a sigh. She really loves everything about him.
“Do you think we are obsessed?” Jullie asked. Thinking back, these few days, she has been showered with love by him, but none of it was enough
She craves more. She wanted more.
“What’s the problem with being obsessed? We aren’t going to compete and won’t let any fifth enter this family.” Sarah mumbled, a dangerous glint in her eyes.
“True.” Celestria agreed.
They have everything they want. Nothing extra was necessary.
A brief pause, before Sarah told them, “By the way, I have granted the blessing of the Goddess to someone else.”
The other three years turned towards the Saintess, before they heard her declaring, “Don’t be shocked if I give good news soon.”
“Eh? This soon?” Celestria exclaimed.
Sarah shrugged, “I mean, I am already twenty-four and married to him. Alex likes children, so why not give him one or two?”
“If it’s about age, then shouldn’t I be the first one?” Jullie asked, with her eyes narrowed. She must remove a few things from the bedside drawer now.
“Hey! I am the oldest one here.” The Vampire protested.
“But I am the first one who got with him!” Celestria fought back.
Meanwhile, Alex was looking at them with a silly smile on his face.
Seeing them fight like this, bickering and laughing…he couldn’t help but sigh.
“This is peaceful.” He mumbled to himself as he thanked whoever gave him a second chance- wait!
‘Hey, Veyra, who helped me be reborn again?’
[It was Solaris.]
“….” Oh, well, rest in peace.
“Alex! You must decide today!” Celestria soon jumped on him.
The others followed, and soon Alex was pulled to the couch, completely surrounded by his lovers.
Feeling their warmth and being at the center of attention, he couldn’t help but mutter,
‘Ah, this is life.’
The End.
