Chapter 50: Leaving Chenjia
When Mo Chenxuan, Qin Wu, Xu Fei, and Lin Rongrong woke up, Lu Hao and Lu Yanyan were already up.

Seeing this, the team was surprised and couldn’t help but pity the little girl.

“Yanyan woke up so early?” Qin Wu asked, looking at the little girl.

“Yanyan is an army girl.” The girl said with a hint of pride in her voice.

“Yanyan has always accompanied me to exercise in the morning.” Lu Hao said, rubbing his niece’s hair with a doting look in his eyes.

“What a good girl.’ Lin Rongrong said.

“Let’s have breakfast before we leave.” Mo Chenxuan said, causing the niece and nephew to look a little awkward.

Although they woke up early and knew the village had many supplies, they didn’t take any.

After all, they didn’t have any supplies when they first arrived in Chenjie village.

Considering that the team four defeated the enemy, the uncle and niece felt they had no right to take the supplies.

Thinking of this, Lu Hao looked at Mo Chenxuan with a solemn expression.

“Mr Mo, can I speak to you for a moment?” He asked and Mo Chenxuan didn’t refuse.

Although he didn’t have secrets from Qin Wu, he wanted to save face for Lu Hao.

When they were alone, he would naturally tell Qin Wu about his conversation with Lu Hao.

“What is on your mind?” Mo Chenxuan asked when they were some distance from the others.

“Mr Mo…” Lu Hao started with an embarrassed expression.

However, he didn’t hesitate for too long.

In the face of survival, face was nothing!

After a deep breath to calm himself, Lu Hao continued.

“My niece and I don’t have anything and want to share some of the supplies in Chenjia village. However, we won’t take advantage of you. I am willing to compensate after we return to the capital.”

“Okay?” Lu Hao asked in disbelief.

He was prepared to beg and grovel.

After all, supplies were not a simple matter in the apocalypse.

Unexpectedly, all his preparations were for nothing and opponent directly agreed.

“You can choose an appropriate car and fill it with supplies. Let us know if you need anything.”

After hearing this, Lu Hao didn’t know what to say.

In the end, he looked at Mo Chenxuan and solemnly bowed.

After Lu Hao and Lu Yanyan chose their supplies, Qin Wu collected everything else and the group left Chenjia village.

Technically, Chenjia could be said to be a remote, outer region of the capital.

However, because of the apocalypse, a distance that could usually be covered in less than thirty minutes was now impossibly long.

After leaving Chenjia village, the group didn’t encounter any obstacles for the first two kilometres.

Looking at the surrounding scenery, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu suspected that Chen Da had parasited the mutated plants and beasts.

As a result, the plants and beasts died when Chen Da died.

“Cheating life is not easy.” Qin Wu stated while looking at the empty surroundings.

“A healer consumes a lot of energy to heal a small wound, let alone regenerating limbs and replenishing vitality. It’s not strange that Chen Da consumed the vitality of everything around him.”

Qin Wu nodded in agreement when she heard this.

“Fortunately, his ability was useless in combat. If he was an attack-type superpower, we would all have capsized in the gutter.” Qin Wu said and then turned to Mo Chenxuan.

“Brother Chenxuan, how do you know Lu Hao and Lu Yanyan?” She finally asked the question that had been lingering in her mind since she met the uncle-niece pair.

“You should have already guessed that I met them in my previous life.” Mo Chenxuan stated and Qin Wu nodded.

“After…” Mo Chenxuan started, sunconciosly clenching his hands around the steering wheel.

Seeing this, Qin Wu placed her hand on the person’s thigh to soothe his emotions.

However, she only managed to stoke a fire and Mo Chenxuan couldn’t help but dangerously narrow his eyes.

“You are playing with fire.” He said through gritted teeth and Qin Wu blushed.

However, she couldn’t help but be happy.

Although she didn’t intentionally seduce the person, she was happy to know that she could easily do it.

After all, Mo Chenxuan was the person she loved.

“How am I playing with fire?” Qin Wu teased and didn’t remove her hand from the man’s thigh.

“Wu’er…”

“Alright.” Qin Wu said, removing her naughty hand and quickly continued.

“Brother Chenxuan, is it something you can’t talk about?” She asked but Mo Chenxuan shook his head.

“After your death in the previous life, I left the city B base. Seven years later, I wandered to the fifth fortress. Lu Hao and Lu Yanyan were superpowers in that base.”

Hearing this, Qin Wu sighed.

“Brother Chenxuan, neither you nor I will die in this life. I promise to always accompany you.”

“I believe you.” Mo Chenxuan said, forcibly suppressing the gloom in his heart.

“What are their superpowers?”

“Lu Hao is a physique superpower and Lu Yanyan has the ice ability.” Mo Chenxuan said and quickly continued.

“Lu Hao’s physical enhancement is not a simple matter. It’s a rare combination of defence and offense.”

“That’s powerful.” Qin Wu nodded.

Of the physical superpowers, a physique enhancement was one of the most useful when facing zombies.

However, most such superpowers either had a defensive or offensive enhancement. It was rare to see a combination of both.

“He and his niece were a famous team. Although their team only had two people, it was the most powerful in the fifth fortress.”

“Based on his uniform, Lu Hao is still an active member of the army. Why didn’t he stay in the army during the apocalypse?” Qin Wu couldn’t help but wonder.

“I don’t know the details but I heard there was some sort of friction with the army.”

“The better for us.” Qin Wu said and Mo Chenxuan chuckled.

“Do you want to recruit him?” Mo Chenxuan asked and Qin Wu rolled her eyes.

“Aren’t you the one who is eager to recruit him?”

“You are right.” The man said with a solemn expression.

“I met many people in my thirty years in the apocalypse. However, only a few retained their original intention until the end. Lu Hao is one of those few.”

“In that case, we should do our best to recruit him.” Qin Wu said and quickly continued.

“There is still a stretch before we reach city B. Let’s do our best to leave a good impression of our team.”

“Wu’er, thank you.”

“Fool.” Qin Wu snorted and looked outside the window.

She was simultaneously dreading and looking forward to city B.

However, her brother Chenxuan was now by her side.

As long as he was by beside her, she was willing to face anything.

“Brother Chenxuan, how do you think the capital is? Did the leaders prepare properly or are they still fighting amongst themselves?” Qin Wu asked, her eyes narrowed into slits.

“We can only hope they took the overall situation into consideration.” Mo Chenxuan said and a trace of murderous intent flashed in his eyes.

When he recalled how the people in power messed up in his previous life, he couldn’t help but be angry.

This time, he would never allow such a mess to happen.

“Brother Chenxuan, you and I don’t have an army. Have you thought about how we are going to divide power?”

“We don’t have an army but we have supplies. With our supplies, it won’t be too difficult to raise an army. However, …” Mo Chenxuan frowned before he continued.

“We can’t expose too many supplies during the early days.”

“I know.” Qin Wu nodded.

At their current level, guns and ‘numbers’ were still useful against them.

If they dared to expose their uniqueness, the army would immediately mobilise against them.

Before they knew it, they would be captured and forced to work for the base leadership or studied in a laboratory.

‘I will never let Wu’er encounter such a tragedy.’ Mo Chenxuan thought, looking at Qin Wu with determined eyes.

“Wu’er, about your family. How do you want to deal with it?” Mo Chenxuan asked and Qin Wu suddenly stiffened.

“Those people are not my family. You are my only family.” Qin Wu said with a hard look in her eyes.

Hearing this, Mo Chenxuan reached out and held his woman’s hand.

“I am sorry.” He said but Qin Wu shook her head.

“I understand what you mean.” She said and quickly continued.

“It’s the beginning of the apocalypse and they haven’t gone too far. It will appear unreasonable if I recklessly deal with them. However, I can’t forget the things they did in my previous life.”

“Brother Chenxuan, I don’t want to pretend when facing them but I am going to do it.”

“You don’t have to. I can help you avoid them as much as possible.”

“No. This time, I will hide a dagger behind my smile.” Qin Wu said, her lips curled in a beautiful smile.
