Rebirth: Love in the Apocalypse - Chapter 59
Chapter 59: Team Name
At this point, all he wanted was to become stronger so that he could take control of his life.
“We need to register our team.” Qin Wu answered in place of Mo Chenxuan.
“Are we going to recruit more people?” Lin Rongrong asked but Qin Wu shook her head before answering.
“There is no need.” She said and quickly continued.
“It won’t be too late to recruit new members after we encounter trustworthy and reliable people.”
Lin Rongrong nodded when she heard that.
Rather than powerful teammates, she preferred teammates she could trust and rely on.
Otherwise, they wouldn’t know how they died if they accidentally recruited someone who couldn’t be trusted to watch their back.
“What’s our team name?”
“Team name…” Qin Wu looked at Mo Chenxuan but the man shrugged and shook his head.
Mo Chenxuan had always planned to form a team.
However, he had never thought of a team name and was momentarily at a loss.
“Does anyone have a good name?” Qin Wu asked.
“I have one.” Lin Rongrong immediately perked up and quickly continued.
“What do you think of ‘Team Dawn’?” She asked but Qin Wu rolled her eyes.
“Too generic.” She said.
At the same time, she removed several A4 papers from her storage space.
“Dawn…” She muttered while looking at the topmost A4 paper.
“Number twenty-eight.” Mo Chenxuan said and Qin Wu lowered her eyes.
“There is already a ‘Team Dawn’ in the base. It’s ranked twenty-eighth.” She said.
“Sister Qin, is that a list of teams?” Xu Fei asked and Qin Wu nodded before placing the papers on the table.
Soon after, the four huddled to study the list but couldn’t help but be discouraged.
“Guardians, Guardians of Light, Warriors of light, Warriors of Justice, New Horizon, New Dawn, New Sun, Tomorrow, Avengers, Justice league, Dragon warriors, Heroes, Children of Light, Hope, Masters of Tomorrow, Zombie Slayers, New World, …” Lin Rongrong read and unconsciously frowned.
“All the good names have been taken.” She said.
“My mind is empty. I can’t think of a good name.” Qin Wu sighed and looked at Mo Chenxuan.
“How about ‘030720XX’?” The man suggested and his teammates couldn’t help but look at him with incredulous expressions.
“The first day of the apocalypse?” Xu Fei asked and Mo Chenxuan nodded in agreement.
“Won’t it be too troublesome for people to call us or reference us in conversations if we use such a name?” Lin Rongrong asked.
“Now that you mention it…” Mo Chenxuan agreed with a thoughtful expression.
“What about ‘Team Ten’?”

“Team Ten? Why?”
“Ten people is the ideal number of teammates for our team.”
“What if we have more or less? Won’t the team-name be a little…”
“You are right, ten doesn’t seem appropriate.” Mo Chenxuan agreed and immediately shifted focus.
Unfortunately, his suggestions only became more outlandish and his teammates subtly looked at each other.
‘Brother Mo/Chenxuan is good at everything but we can’t rely on him for this.’ They tacitly thought.
“We can borrow from books or television.” Lin Rongrong suddenly suggested.
“That’s a good idea.” Qin Wu nodded and began recalling the books she had read in the past twenty something years.
“Fellowship of the rings…., order of the phoenix…, league of assassins…,” She muttered.
However, none of what she recalled seemed right for the occasion.
In the end, she turned to Xu Fei.
“Brother Xu, you used to be in the entertainment industry and have been in many movies. Can’t you think of something?” She asked and Xu Fei almost rolled his eyes.
‘I was just an actor, not a scriptwriter.’ He complained but still tried to think about it.
“Who knew coming up with a name was so difficult?” Lin Rongrong sighed.
“I have three.” Xu Fei suddenly said and everyone turned to look at him with expectant eyes.
“The first one is ‘Last Stand’ or ‘Event Horizon’. What do you think?”
“I didn’t expect brother Xu was so ambitious.” Qin Wu teased and the others couldn’t help but smile.
“You want to be what stands between the human race and catastrophe?” Lin Rongrong asked, looking at Xu Fei with a solemn expression.
In fact, the team-name didn’t have to mean more than the sum of the words.
However, Lin Rongrong hoped the team-name would espouse the ambition of their team.
“Saving the human race is incidental. What I want to protect are the important people in my life.” Xu Fei said and an elusive meaning flashed in his eyes.
“Protecting your important people means protecting the human race.” Mo Chenxuan said with a solemn expression.
In the early days, everything seemed clear-cut.
Everyone just wanted to protect what was important to them.
However, it was this kind of thinking that led to the annihilation of the human race in his previous life.
Although Mo Chenxuan didn’t care about others, he knew that other people needed to survive in order for him and Qin Wu to survive.
There was no scenario in which they survived alone while every else died.
After all, no matter how powerful they became, they were only two people.
Most importantly, zombies, mutated plants, and other predators would not stop evolving and upgrading just because the human race was annihilated.
Unless he and Qin Wu planned to live in their space for the rest of their lives, contributing to the survival of the human race was not something they could avoid.
That said, they had no obligation to hold the sky for the human race.
Considering that, he immediately disliked the connation of ‘last stand’ and ‘event horizon’.
“We can contribute but have no obligation to become the selfless heroes of the human race.” Xu Fei quickly figured it out and rejected his own suggestion.
“Everyone has a role to play. However, we have no obligation to sacrifice for the human race. We can accompany the human race to make a last stand but we can’t be the last stand.” Qin Wu said and everyone nodded.
“What’s your second suggestion?” Lin Rongrong asked, looking at Xu Fei.
