Rebirth: Love in the Apocalypse - Chapter 78
Chapter 78: New Task
Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu woke up late the following morning.
After freshening up and having breakfast, they planned to leave the villa to walk around the base.
However, uncle Zhang informed them that the government had issued a directive to stop people from going around during this sensitive time.
With nothing to do, the two returned to their room, closed the door and entered Qin Wu’s space.
“Brother Chenxuan, do you want to practice right away?” Qin Wu asked but Mo Chenxuan shook his head.
“There are a lot of mature fruits and vegetables in the field. Let’s harvest them first.”
“Okay.” Qin Wu didn’t argue.
They only had ten acres of farmable land and two acres was partitioned for livestock sheds and a villa.
Although the remaining eight acres were enough to meet all their daily needs, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu were looking into the future.
Thinking of their future needs, Qin Wu turned to Mo Chenxuan.
“Brother Chenxuan, we should send some meat, dried fruits and vegetables, and some other supplies to the affiliated team.” She said.
“Good.” Mo Chenxuan had already planned to do this.
After all, they would soon be relying on uncle Zhang and the affiliated team to sell purified crystal cores.
After that, the two worked in the field; harvesting the ready fruits and vegetables and later planting some new crops.
When that was done, they slaughtered some livestock and sea food.
However, the two didn’t plan to hand over these fresh meats and fishes.
Instead, they setup a rack in Mo Chenxuan’s space and dried the meat and fishes.
This way, other people wouldn’t think too much after receiving the goods.
“Wu’er, do we have enough ready food and hot water for our next mission?”
“Don’t worry. I have already asked aunt Zhang to prepare everything we need.”
“Thanks for your hard work.”
“What hard work?” Qin Wu rolled her eyes but she was happy that Mo Chenxuan appreciated her efforts.
That day, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu worked in their spaces and didn’t come out until evening.
The next day was the last day of their vacation.
Consequently, they had breakfast and went to the mission hall to accept some tasks.
“Brother Chenxuan, how many points do we need to enter the B-tier?” Qin Wu asked.
Teams were ranked from F to SSS.
Ranking from F to E required one thousand points, E to D required two thousand, D to C was four thousand, and consequently, C to B was eight thousand.
After completing thirteen tasks during their last trip, team Legends earned eight thousand and forty points.
As a result, seven thousand points were used to rank up from F to C, leaving one thousand and forty points.

“We need an extra six thousand, nine hundred and sixty points.” Mo Chenxuan informed and Qin Wu nodded in understanding.
Soon after, the two began looking at the available tasks.
As they did before, they started from the F rank tasks and slowly made their way to the top.
“Brother Chenxuan, look at this.” Qin Wu said, pointing at a task.
She initially noticed the task because it was offering the most points amongst C-rank tasks.
After reading the details, she realised it was more of an A or B rank task than a C-rank task.
Unfortunately, there weren’t many B-rank and A-rank teams in the base.
Because of this, the issuers of the task were not only forced to offer more points but also downgrade its ranking to ensure more teams had access to it.
“Go to Pine Fresh Maternity Hospital to retrieve ultra-sound machines.” Mo Chenxuan read.
The Pine Fresh Maternity Hospital was only thirty kilometres from the base.
It had a capacity of one hundred and fifty beds, and almost one hundred staff members including doctors, nurses, surgeons, and cleaners.
Because it had several ‘rock star’ doctors, the Pine Fresh Maternity Hospital was always full and needed to be booked in advance.
Considering that, Mo Chenxuan expected they would encounter many adult and foetus zombies.
One thousand, let alone a few hundred adult zombies were nothing to team Legends.
However, foetus zombies were different.
From his experience, Mo Chenxuan knew that foetus zombies tended to mutate and often had a higher level than ordinary zombies.
Thinking that they may encounter more than one hundred foetus zombies, Mo Chenxuan turned solemn.
However, he was reluctant to give up the mission.
First, the task offered thirty thousand points.
If their team completed the task, they would have enough points to rank up from C to A.
Second, Mo Chenxuan expected they could harvest a large number of level two crystal cores and if they were lucky or unlucky, they may even get one or more level three crystal cores.
Third, the location of the hospital was advantageous to the team.
Since before they arrived in the city B base, Mo Chenxuan wanted to retrieve the arsenal that was belatedly discovered in his previous life.
Unfortunately, the team had been busy completing tasks and they couldn’t spare a moment to retrieve the arsenal.
However, if the team took the Pine Fresh task, they would only need to go a little out of their way to reach the arsenal.
For that reason, Mo Chenxuan was very optimistic about the Pine Fresh task.
“Brother Chenxuan, what do you think? Should we take it?” Qin Wu asked.
Like Mo Chenxuan, she was also thinking about the pros and cons.
At the moment, their team had one level three superpower, one level two superpower, and excluding Xiao Junxie, four level one superpowers.
Qin Wu was at the peak of level two and only needed an opportunity to advance to level three.
Similarly, Xu Fei was at the peak of level one, Lin Rongrong was at the high stage of level one, and the Lu uncle and niece were in the middle of level one.
Alone, Xu Fei could deal with an early-stage level two ordinary zombie and together with Lin Rongrong, they could kill a mid-stage level two ordinary zombie.
Most importantly, Xu Fei was very close to advancing to level two.
As long as he advanced, the team’s combat effectiveness would increase and the pressure on Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu would reduce a little.
Considering everything, Qin Wu wanted to take the mission.
However, he was a little worried that Mo Chenxuan may not be able to continue hiding his spiritual power.
After all, a hospital, let alone a maternity hospital was a very dangerous place.
Depending on what they encountered, Mo Chenxuan may be forced to reveal his spiritual power in order to keep the team safe.
Qin Wu was hesitant because of this.
Regardless of benefits, Mo Chenxuan was the most important and she didn’t want him to take unnecessary risks.
Thinking of this level, she suddenly shook her head.
“Let’s not take it.” She said, preparing to shift focus to another task.
However, Mo Chenxuan didn’t let her.
“Let’s take it.” He said.
“But…” Qin Wu frowned.
“I will handle everything. Don’t worry.” The man soothed, looking at Qin Wu with doting eyes.
Mo Chenxuan naturally didn’t want to reveal his spiritual ability.
However, he didn’t intend to hold himself back.
Since there was a good task that could bring many benefits to the team, he intended to take it and complete it without revealing too many of his trump cards.
This was undoubtedly a tall order.
However, Mo Chenxuan had never been afraid of challenges.
“Wu’er, I know what you are worried about but we can’t let fear get in our way.” The man said and a trace of determination flashed in his eyes.
Qin Wu sighed when she heard this.
It was this drive to succeed that made Mo Chenxuan an extraordinary businessman at such an early age.
It was also one of the qualities that Qin Wu loved about Mo Chenxuan.
After figuring it out, Qin Wu smiled and nodded.
“Okay. Let’s the mission.” She said.
Soon after, the two chose another nine tasks that could be completed in tandem with the Pine Fresh mission.
When that was done, they went to the counter to the register the tasks.
“It’s you.” The clerk exclaimed, looking at the two people.
“Do you know us?” Qin Wu asked.
“I registered your tasks the last time you came to the mission hall.” The clerk said with a self-mocking smile.
At that time, she persuaded the team leader to accept few tasks.
However, the man was adamant and insisted on taking thirteen tasks.
The clerk felt the team was overestimating itself and even planned to watch their jokes.
Unfortunately, the joke was on her.
Unexpectedly, in less than half a month, the team completed the thirteen tasks ranked up from rank F to rank C.
Recalling that, the clerk sighed and began recording the ten tasks the two people chose.
“Good luck.” She said after recording everything.
“Thank you.” Qin Wu said, held Mo Chenxuan’s arm and prepared to leave the mission hall.
However, before they could leave, a group of seven entered the hall.
