Chapter 101: Ruined everything

“You are saying that Dr. Lilith went back home because her mother got attacked?” Gabriel enquired during the call.

As he sat in his room, Gabriel peered at the girl who was seated in front of his study table, a laptop in front of her.

Her eyes skimmed the screen intently as her fingers typed fluidly on the keyboard.

Eveline resolved to retrieve the video from the parking lot in order to find the source of the brake tampering ever since they found out the accident was intentional.

Yes the car Jay drove was taken for examination through which they found that the brakes were tampered in order to harm Gabriel.

“Yes, for now I only got to learn that much but don’t worry, I will find everything” Stefan said with an assurance to Gabriel agreed and soon he ended the call.

Turning he made his way towards Eveline and stood behind her. His eyes fixated on the screen where the video played.

Being the impatient once, Eveline dragged the timestamp a little forward and then their eyes caught something unexpected.

“It’s him” Eveline said, her eyes turning grim as she watched the footage.

A figure walked through the towed car and swiftly making his way towards Gabriel’s car before sliding underneath.

The entire time his face was hidden from them, as the man covered his identity brilliantly.

“My doubts were right” Eveline muttered gnashing her teeth in fury.

Gabriel took had his eyes cold gaze fixated on the screen.

“Stefan said, Dr. Lilith’s mother was attack this afternoon, which is why she had to rush home as soon as she found it” he said, drawing his gaze from the screen to Eveline.

Eveline scowl deepened as she happened to notice a meaningful gleam crossing his eyes.

“Are you thinking what I am thinking?” She asked skeptically looking at her.

“But we have to wait for Stefan to confirm it” Gabriel stated and she nodded.

Eveline closed the tabs and was about to shut off the laptop when she unexpected clicked on a folder and the moment she happened to see the series of images opening up.

Eveline gape finding the entire folder filled with her photos and she shot her eyes at Gabriel.

“W-what is this?” She asked, still shocked by the view.

Gabriel remained calm despite Eveline face losing its composure and responded.

“You wanted to know what’s there in my laptop? There you go, this is your answer” he said with taking a step back towards the couch and settled down.

His eyes glisten with delight watching the shock on her face.

Eveline looked back and forth between Gabriel and the screen before taking in the images he held of hers.

It was just of her current years but also from the last, last ,last and last. She failed the count.

Gabriel even had her childhood photos.

‘What does this all mean?’ she pomdered falling short for words.

Eveline had always thought Gabriel was disinterested in her, but seeing him keeping her images her thoughts about him wavered.

Unable to fathom her thoughts Eveline quickly grabbed her bag and got up to leave.

“I need to go” she said and sprinted towards the door to open it.

“Eve” Gabriel grab hold her arm and swiftly turned her around, pinning her against the door.

“What happened?” His eyes laced with pain watching the tears holding her eyes.

“What is all this Gabriel? Why would you behold my photos like that? You were suppose to hate me, then why?!”

Gabriel did understand what she was trying to say, but the way she kept herself in denail stab his heart.

“Why would I hate you? I can never do that” he tried to say but she yank his hand away.

“No Gabriel, this isn’t supposed to be. You just can’t waver my thoughts about you” she refuse to believe what she saw. There is no way he had been hiding them all this while.

‘Does that mean he always held these images with him’

Eveline recalled she once saw him staring in his laptop but the moment he noticed her, he quickly close it off.

She had always been curious to know what was there in his laptop but never once she got the chance.

“Eve, calm down and listen to me. Why would I hate you. I never did that, I simply failed to acknowledge my emotions. I can never hate you, please believe me”

Eveline snap out of her thoughts and pushed him away. She wanted to get away from him or else she would go crazy.

The mind was frizy and her heart was beating violently inside her chest ready to burst out with his indescribable emotions.

This wasn’t supposed to happen. This was the reality she expected.

Tears rolled down her eyes, her body trembling strange however before she could take a step to leave, Gabriel pulled her for am heartwarming kiss.

Her hands resting on his chest felt jelly as his mouth began to nibble her lips slowly amd tenderly, as if he was trying to soothe her anxiety.

Eveline closed her eyes and felt the warmth of his mouth lingering on her lips.

From her body to her mind everything went numb shutting off her inner tormial within a few seconds, and calming her wrecking nerves.

The kiss was gentle like the breeze bringing fresh air into her system and pushing away all the negativity from her mind.

Eveline didn’t realize it until now that Gabriel wasn’t lying when he said ‘The answer would still be the same’

That night she failed to understand the meaning behind his words, but now after witnessing the reality of them, her heart pained.

Eveline felt betrayed in some sense wondering of her life was based on lies or was she so blinded that she didn’t see anything beyond what was been shown.

Her hand clutched the helm of his shirt and her lips parted in reciprocation.
