Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 112
Chapter 112: Need your help
“I wonder if you have lost your brain cells somewhere, or maybe it is just your head,” Eveline teased him, his sardonic humor not seeming to fit her.
Rather than trying to act cool, which did not suit his tastes, it was better for him to stay cold and distant.
“When I met you, I did lose some brain cells, but when I realized that I was in love with you, I did lose my mind. There you have it, my response.”
Eveline could just give him a rolling-eye look.
She was obviously not pleased, but there was no way he would stay silent.
Eveline kept her comments to herself and turned to look outside when her phone rang.
Gabriel’s expression changed from bright daylight to deep shadows as soon as he saw the caller’s name.
Eveline noticed the sudden drop in his aura and quickly declined the call.
“Drop me at the bus stop near the college,” she suddenly said.
Gabriel scowled as she desperately peered out the window, about to turn around when he inquired,
“And why would I do that? You came with me, so I will take you to the college,” Gabriel remarked, his tone revealing his displeasure.
Despite their collaboration, Eveline continues to draw boundaries in certain situations that irritate Gabriel.
He uttered, disregarding her words, “Tell me the reason and I will drop you.”
Although Gabriel’s domineering personality was a liability, she knew it wouldn’t be beneficial if she kept it from him.
“Fine, listen…”

In the meantime, Alex was in the neighborhood coffee shop waiting for Eveline. Even though he was supposed to skip class, he had to agree to meet Eveline when she asked to.
Alex was excited to watch their relationship develop and found it pleasing that Eveline was taking the lead.
As he waited for Eveline to arrive, he failed to see someone else making his way towards him.
His eyes brightened at the sight of someone, but the moment he realized who it was, the shine quickly faded.
“Tiffany, what are you doing here?” With clenched teeth, he spoke.
It was not enjoyable at all that she chose to appear before him despite having made it apparent the other day.
Pulling a chair in front of him and settling in, Tiffany said, “I suppose someone like you will not be here unless and until you have someone waiting for.”
Since his relationship with Tiffany will only get him into more trouble, Alex would never want Eveline to learn of it. So, disregarding Tiffany’s meaningless remarks, he made the decision to depart before she could arrive.
She grabbed his hand and stopped him from leaving, saying, “I have some work for you.”
Gazing upon their hands, Alex withdrew it abruptly, stating, “I reject.”
Alex was about to take another step when Tiffany stopped him and said, “If you want me to leave as soon as possible, then you have to help me, Alex.”
Alex looked at Tiffany angrily. He was aware that Tiffany would follow through on her promise if he refused her, and the last thing he wanted was to be discovered by Eveline.
Alex sighed as he darted his gaze towards the glass door and cast a thoughtful glance outside.

He turned back to his seat and said, “Be quick.”
With a triumphant smile, Tiffany enquired, “I want you to find the person who is trying to blackmail me.”
Alex scowled, doubting what she had said.
“Who is blackmailing you and for what?” He asked.
Tiffany gave him a long pause before spilling the beans.
“Someone knows that I was the one who framed both Gracey and Eveline and I am sure that person is not you,” she said, passing him the notes she had received.
She gave him a sly smile in return, but Alex narrowed his eyes and turned his attention to the note instead.
“When was the last time you found them, and who was with you when you discovered it?”
“It’s been two days and I already did my part of monitoring people who could turn against me, but the outcome was negative,” she said.
She still needed to find one person, but she was not sure if Alex would approve, even after Gracey’s suspicions were disproven.
When Eveline became openly challenging, Tiffany was taken aback and many questions about the abrupt shift were raised.
“Give me some time, and I will locate the individual,” he said, returning the notes to Tiffany folded.
He pointed to the door and said, “Is there anything else? If not, leave.”
Tiffany could see how naive Alex had become to Eveline’s deceit, to the point where he was unable to recognize his own foolishness.
She got up and turned to walk away, but just then, they both noticed Eveline entering through the same glass door.
Tiffany smirked mentally as soon as their eyes locked, then turned to leave Alex to handle the next.
Eveline scowled as she glanced at Alex and saw that his face had been drained of blood.
She moved to the table and sat down in front of Alex, who gulped.
“What was Tiffany doing here?” she questioned, her gaze doubtful.
Although Alex was unaware of Eveline’s level of visibility, he felt uneasy about her intense gaze.
“Was she here to meet you?” she further asked, scaring the shit out of Alex.
Eveline had already caught sight of Tiffany entering the coffee shop. Thus, she chose to keep a close eye on them. It was evident from their exchange that Tiffany was now asking Alex for assistance, and it appeared that he had given in.
“W-why would she come to meet me?” Taking his eyes off of Eveline’s serious expression, Alex stammered and laughed awkwardly.
In an attempt to break the ice and end their conversation, he lied and said, “She came to purchase coffee and left.”
Eveline continued to scowl and then leisurely leaned back in her chair.
“If that is the case, then perhaps she did come to buy the coffee,” Eveline said, surprising Alex. The serious expression on her face disappeared as she smiled back at him.
With a sigh of relief, Alex returned the smile, pushing all bad thoughts from his heart.
“Thanks for coming here.” Eveline thanked Alex and complimented him with kind remarks.
Alex was excited to see her too, but he was not sure if they would meet at the college. He also found it hard to stay there for a long time because the police were always looking into things.
“Eveline, I told you that I wanted to be with you and I was not lying. How could I not come when it was you who asked me to?” Alex returned to his charming ways, but his remarks only infuriated Eveline.
It is inappropriate to speak such kind words to someone who enjoys playing with other people’s lives.
With a feeble smile, Eveline concealed her hatred from Alex and looked away.
Though he would never witness Eveline blush, Alex found it amusing to watch her cover it up.
“You do remember what I told you that day, so how about we start it from this moment on? Alex, I would like to know everything about you,” Eveline remarked, erasing Alex’s smile.
Although she was aware that gambling carries a risk, she was willing to take the chance because she knew Alex would be easily duped by her words.
Alex paused for a moment, observing the willingness in Eveline’s demeanor and nodded.
Eveline smiled mentally, waiting for him to start up.

[Ella’s Apartment]
“Eat well.” Mischelle commented as she added another pancake to Ella’s plate, “Look how thin you have become.”
“I already had three, Mom.” Ella shook her head and declined to eat another pancake, saying, “One more and I will bloat.”
“Ella, stop talking to me. You need to take care of Stefan as well as yourself. The fact that he is the only one taking initiative while you just sit there stings me.” Thinking back to last night’s dinner, she said.
Her heart pounded with joy as she watched Stefan feed Ella; she could tell the boy was incredibly infatuated with her and did not dare to hide it. The only issue was that Ella did not seem to be as open to him as Stefan was.
“Mom, we are doing great. Stefan is an athlete who understands how to take care of his body.” Ella said, cutting a piece of pancake and stuffing it into her mouth.
The doorbell rang unexpectedly while the two were eating breakfast, and Mischelle hurried to open the front door.
Ella was surprised to see Stefan walking back with her mother.
“Thank you for coming. Please have a seat and have some pancakes,” Mischelle said setting another plate for Stefan as he took the seat next to Ella.
“What are you doing here?” she asked with a slight furrow.
“Why are you being rude to him? It’s me who called him” Mischelle said cutting in between their conversation as she shot a furious stare at Ella.
“Don’t be so rude babe, or else I will eat your lips instead of those pancakes” Stefan whispered ignoring her serious look only to get her shock the next moment.
