Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 118
Chapter 118: You died
She started to rant, but Gabriel ignored it and grabbed her arm, causing her to fall on him.
“We will see it later, but for now we need to sleep,” he said, his arms firmly around her.
Like a dumbstruck fool, Eveline blinked her eyes. With her head resting on his chest, she was essentially dozing off over him and could obviously hear his heartbeats.
Being in his embrace felt strange, but she started to lose herself.
She occasionally slept like that following their sexual encounters. Because Gabriel would always be inebriated when they had sex, it was simpler for her to be this close to him.
When Eveline thought back to her past, she felt weird because that was the only time Gabriel would listen to her, but he was usually asleep.
“Eveline,” muttered Gabriel, noticing the rigidity in Eveline’s posture.
She was startled out of her reverie by his voice and began to calm down.
Although she was in a challenging situation, she felt relatively at ease.
Was it the comforting sound of his heartbeat or his embrace that made all the negative thoughts leave her mind? However, she then heard him talk.
“I was dying to hug you to sleep after our call last night.” Eveline paused hearing his words before looking up.
“I think you should stop reading the book I gave you,” she said, her face frowning.
“It is undoubtedly having a negative impact on your brain.”
Gabriel laughed at her comment, not offended, and hugged her even closer.
“You are the one making that claim. Does that imply that you have lost brain cells somewhere, too? Maybe we are just as dumb after all,” he remarked, earning a fierce glare from her.
Gabriel kept laughing, seeing how adorable her reactions were becoming every day. It was encouraging to him that Eveline was speaking the truth and was not keeping her opinions to herself.
“When did you start having trouble sleeping?” Eveline asked, her head resting on his chest once again. Even her tone was soothing, but there was concern in her words.
“As far as I am aware, you were not the kind of person who would lose sleep over someone in their thoughts. So explain to me what is wrong.” She questioned in a tone more akin to an interrogation, stopping Gabriel for a brief moment in his tracks.
Compared to him, Eveline knew more about him. It makes sense why she could read his thoughts so quickly, even without asking.
Gabriel went into a deep despair, questioning whether he would be able to tell her what was bothering him.
Nevertheless, he soon realized that it was a clever ploy to win Eveline over to his way.
He stopped for a moment, collected himself, and said, “I keep having this horrifying dream that keeps me from getting any sleep.”
His hand was still tightly gripping Eveline’s hand as he continued to stare up at the ceiling, and she could feel the tension rising around his manner.
Her pulse quickened at the slight furrow in his brow, and she inquired.
“Those dreams, what are they?”
Gabriel hesitated briefly, his eyes darting in response to her query.
Eveline felt a sense of patience toward him, but she was also intrigued to learn more about it.
With deliberate slowness, Gabriel turned to face Eveline. With frightened eyes and slightly trembling lips, he said,
“You died”

Eveline’s eyes widened, her mind racing at the unexpected possibilities that presented themselves as soon as he said them.
Her heart skipped a beat, and she gave him an expression that words cannot describe.
The moment Gabriel thought back to the dream, he was struck by the same unsettling memory, the pictures where she fell off the balcony. It still gives him chills to think of her lifeless, frigid body encircled by blood and those vacant eyes.
“Argh!” Gabriel cried out as he closed his eyes. “Why even did I tell you that?” he said, soon regretting his words.
Eveline saw how desperately Gabriel had been trying to keep his cool, which broke the instant he revealed the dream.
‘What is this whole thing?” Why is he having those dreams? Why are those dreams showing up for us?’
Her hand instinctively went to his chest, and she started to stroke his heart.
“That’s okay. That was simply a dream. Don’t worry too much about it.
Eveline was surprised to find herself enticing Gabriel when, in fact, she had been experiencing the same haunting every night.
Gabriel, on the other hand, paused and glanced at the girl he was holding.
It was a foolish move, yet it somehow soothed him.
There was something appealing about this girl that made him want to give in to everything she did. But there was only one exception: it was only him.
A sigh left his mouth as she continued to stroke his heart, and his body began to slowly loosen up.
Other than nudging him, Eveline had no idea what she was supposed to do at this point. Nevertheless, she struggled to grasp how serious the situation was.
‘What if it is nothing more than a meaningless dream?’ Eveline asked herself.
Since Gabriel was not the one who died and was reborn, there is no way that he could have had a glimpse of their past.
‘No, there is no way for that to happen. I am sure it’s just a random dream,’ she concluded without further arguments.
The night was long for them both, but with each other’s comfort, they were able to accept the necessary calm and quickly drift off to a deep sleep, forgetting the chaos in their mind.

The pouring gradually stopped, and a ray of sunlight shone through the clouds.
It turned out to be the most blissful morning, as the couple fell asleep in each other’s arms with no intention of letting go.
A slight smile appeared on Eveline’s lips as she inhaled deeply and wrapped her arms around something hard.
Her brows furrowed instantly, and she cuddled into something soft yet solid, which bewildered her.
Her eyes slowly opened, and she focused her gaze on a gorgeous yet serene face lying next to her, sleeping quietly.
It was then that she realized something and her eyes widened in horror.
Gasp….
Eveline pulled away from the hug to discover Gabriel still asleep in her room.
He was meant to leave the house early in the morning, but this man was sleeping peacefully in her bed, cuddling her.
Gabriel stirred in his sleep, feeling the discomfort of being in one position, and wrapped his arms over Eveline, bringing her closer once more.
Eveline remained calm, her eyes blinking nonstop. She wasn’t intended to sleep back, but rather wake him up before anyone entered her room.
She forced herself to glance up and was ready to tap his face before being stopped by his lovely features.
Eveline might be lying if she refused to admit that Gabriel had the most attractive features.
His thick brows, pointed nose, big lips, and knife-like sharp jawline were all flawless, and his complexion was so shining that she was wary of a man’s extraordinary beauty.
Eveline, now is not the time to swoon over Gabriel. You need to get him out of here before anyone discovers it.
Eveline pushed all of her fleeting thoughts away and was going to wake Gabriel up when an unexpected knock on the door frightened her to the point where she pushed the man off the bed.
