Chapter 123: Did you truly hate Eveline…
Meanwhile, after the lesson concluded, Eveline and Alex rose up to leave.
“Are you going to the library?” Alex inquired as he watched her load her items.
“No, Gabriel won’t be tutoring me today, he needs to head to the police station as they found a lead regarding the culprit,” Eveline mumbled normally.
Alex’s face drained of blood as soon as she said those words.
“Lead?” he mumbled.
“Yes, so he postponed the plan,” she murmured casually, her eyes fixed on the shift in his facial expression.
“What happened? Why does your face look pale suddenly?” she inquired.
Alex quickly snapped out of his thoughts and ran his hand through his hair.
“I am suddenly not feeling well. I should go.” he said.
Eveline nodded silently and watched him leave at the speed of a bullet.
His departure interrupted Eveline’s smile, and she pulled out her phone to alert Gabriel of everything before leaving the classroom.
Eveline tried to find Gracey after she abruptly left class, however she couldn’t find her anywhere.
“Aren’t you tired of fooling people?” A voice attracted her attention, and she turned to face the person who was speaking while a smile lingering on her lips.
“Should I be the one asking you? You’ve been so manipulative that I wonder if people will believe you when you tell the truth.” Eveline scoffed as she teased back.
Tiffany was impressed that Eveline didn’t hide her actual face, but she still wanted to keep her on her toes.
After hearing what her father told her, she realized that not only Eveline, but also her father, was a manipulative bastard who stole her father’s business.
“I know you’re deceiving Alex?” Tiffany took a step closer to her and added, “I know you’re just exploiting him like you did Gabriel.
Eveline arched her brow at her audacity, but she kept her cool and replied, “What makes you think that? Don’t tell me you’re stalking us? “She gasped, appearing to be shocked, but her face quickly burst into a hysterical smile.
“Well, what if I do? How will you prove it?”
Tiffany’s lips twitched at Eveline’s threatening comments, and she fisted her palm into a tight grip.
“I was aware that the instant you asked me to keep Gabriel to yourself, you went to kiss him. A bitch like you don’t deserve to be loved.”
Eveline’s eyes clouded as her vicious remarks brought back memories of her wrongdoings.
Because of her, she suffered the greatest fate and lost her child, but not anymore. She cannot undo the life she has lost, nor can she bring her child back, but she will make Tiffany face the consequences of everything she has done to her.
“What makes you different from me, Tiffany? If I don’t deserve love, why do you think you do?” She asked dangerously, taking a step closer to her.
“I know you were behind exposing my feelings for Gabriel and also the one manipulating him against me”
Tiffany’s smile faded, and her eyes blinked from the intensity of her frigid gaze. She felt shivers run down her spine.
“I told you I hadn’t done it. Then why do you keep blaming me?” Tiffany refused to let her defenses down. Though Eveline was correct, Tiffany had convinced her that it was not her fault, but someone else leaked it after hearing their talk.
“I knew it was you, Tiffany, but I was too stupid to recognize your actual face. But not anymore; I know what you’ve done and what you intend to do next. However, no matter what you do, I will not allow you get away with it that easily. You wanted Gabriel right, and I guarantee you won’t get him no matter what you try.”
Tiffany’s expression darkened at the mention of Gabriel’s name, and she tightened her jaw in anger.

“Gabriel will be mine and I won’t let you have him.” Tiffany warned.
“We’ll see,” Eveline scoffed, mocking Tiffany, which fueled her rage, and without warning, she lunged at her, pushing her.
“Ah”
Eveline dodged her attack and stepped aside, prompting Tiffany to fall to her knees and cry out in anguish.
“This is how it will end for you, and it will be worse than any pain you can imagine,” Eveline warned Tiffany while she cried and walked away.

Meanwhile, Gracey and Daniel arrived at a children’s park away from the campus area and sat on a bench.
Gracey was astonished when he asked if she preferred parks or malls, but she had no idea he would actually take her decision seriously and take her to one.
She wondered if she judged people too soon because her thoughts about Daniel turned out to be very different.
“So why did you pick a park instead of any luxurious place?” Daniel questioned, his whole concentration on her.
Gracey simply responded to her preference because she did not have the luxury of spending money to walk around the posh mall or buy anything.
“Are you mocking me or are you just curious?” she inquired, unsure of his intentions.
Daniel’s life had been incredibly simple yet exciting, with him completely relying on the luxury that came with his name. He was the family’s youngest and most favored son.
While Gabriel was smart, Daniel was headstrong and would complain to his parents if he desired something. But that rarely happened, because he could have anything he wanted with a single word.
He had gone to several amusement parks, often with a VIP pass, but he had never visited a regular park. Yes, he had seen them in television series, but he had never visited one.
So when Gracey mentioned that she liked parks, he immediately decided to go with it, just to gain some life experience.
“I’m not ridiculing you. It’s simply that I’ve never been to a park before because my father built one for us when we were small inside our property.”
Gracey fell silent as he flaunted his money in a gloomy tone. She couldn’t help but chuckle and inquire,
“So what is the difference between that exclusive park and this one?”
Daniel mused for a time as he searched about and said,” There I use to play alone, but here kids enjoy playing with each other despite not knowing anyone”
A tiny smile came on his face as he relished the children’s laughing as they played on the swing, lader, and even the see-saw.
“But you can’t play on them now,” Gracey said, only to have Daniel give her a harsh look.
She immediately closed her eyes and grinned awkwardly.
“I simply stated, because you looked very happy but also depressed about the fact that you didn’t have anyone to play with,” Gracey remarked, leaving Daniel to ponder her comments.
She was not only intelligent in academics, but also skilled at understanding human emotions, which made him admire her.
“Do you understand human physiology. How did you get me so well?” Daniel inquired like a curious child who was astounded by something unusual.
Daniel was almost twenty-one years old, but he had the mind of a child who was enthusiastic about simple things. Gracey, on the other hand, was mature for her age, having faced life’s most difficult challenges.
While Daniel’s family was wealthy, Gracey’s was not, and she had to work hard to receive the scholarship to attend Aspen College. She learned it the hard way, which is why she continues to regret disappointing her parents as a result of her previous actions.
“I am not experienced, but I understand your feelings,” she remarked with a slight smile.
Gracey was meant to avoid interacting with these prominent people, but instead she was consoling a boy who kept complaining about not being able to go to the local park.
Daniel nodded in agreement and turned to face ahead.
“How about you?” Daniel remarked, “Did you have any friends growing up, or do you still want to be in the odds, because you are no longer?” She gave him a tired stare.
This boy was unintentionally ridiculing her for the controversy with that ridiculous look, and she couldn’t help but scoff.
“I don’t like associating much, especially with people like you, who look down on people like us,” she remarked, annoyed.
Gracey realized she was being impolite, while understanding that not everyone was the same everywhere. But she couldn’t help but convey her irritation at his dumbness.
‘Even her siblings were more mature than him,’ she admitted internally.
Daniel was offended by her comment and instantly confronted, “But I never looked down on anyone”
“You didn’t but rather just said it”
“…”
Daniel had no idea what had happened to her, but when she ignored him, he assumed it was his fault and apologized.
“Okay, if you think it’s my fault then I am sorry”
Gracey blinked before turning and staring at him with amazement. He readily accepted his mistake and even apologized, which was a positive attribute, and she regretted being condescending toward him.
Gracey didn’t know Daniel very well, and she didn’t know anyone very well, which is why Tiffany was able to deceive her into believing her falsehoods and nearly wrecking it.
“By the way, I apologize. I shouldn’t have just said those words,” she admitted, recognizing her mistake.
Daniel glanced at Gracey in admiration, delighted by the way her ears turned pink when she apologized.
Aside from his mother and Eveline, Daniel had never conversed with girls because they were only interested in his appearance and status.
He preferred to hang out with boys, but even their presence was not helping him.
“Can I ask you something?” Daniel immediately inquired, and she nodded in accord.
“Did you truly hate Eveline to scheme against her?” his remarks left Gracey speechless as she reflected on her feelings about Eveline now that he had asked.
