When she didn’t see anyone, she quickly turned and left.

“Job done,” Gracey murmured on the phone as she watched Tiffany flee in panic.

“Good, your job is finished.

So there will be no need for you to drop those notes,” Eveline explained.

Tiffany had lost her main source of support with Alex’s departure.

She requested him to discover the person who was threatening her, but before he could receive that information, he was jailed, leaving Tiffany alone.

“Okay, but what do plan to do next?” Gracey asked as she exited the college building.

She wanted to watch Tiffany’s downfall, but she was also intrigued by Eveline’s move.

“I don’t think it’s feasible for us to talk over the phone, I will tell you later when we meet in the college” she replied, to which Gracey concurred.

“Okay,” she said as they concluded the call.

“How long will you stand there?

I am needy and really need your attention.” Eveline’s eyes were chilly and her jaw stiffened as she heard Gabriel speak.

She took a long breath and turned to face the boy, saying, “Then why don’t you rest.” Gabriel bit his lip to keep from laughing at her attempts to contain her rage.

However, he was more than eager to tease her.

While the elders gathered downstairs, Gabriel insisted on taking Eveline to his room, since Stefan had left due to work, and Daniel excused himself to his room.

“I will once you come to my side,” Gabriel responded, pressing Eveline’s button even farther.

She wanted to yell and punish him for acting like a spoiler, but when she observed the bandage on his hand, she stopped herself.

Though she despised Gabriel for making life difficult for her, seeing him in misery saddened her.

She stared at him for a few seconds before taking a big breath and walking towards the bed.

Gabriel quickly pushed to make place for her, and she sat beside him.

Eveline had no understanding why she agreed with everything he said, but she felt compelled to do so.

While she sat there silently, she felt him rest his head on her shoulder and sigh.

“It’s better this way,” she heard him remark, keeping her entire body immobile.

Gabriel was behaving nice and romantic, which made her fear for herself, as she expected him to come up and demand something out of nowhere.

Eveline could not forget the kiss they had shared in her room a few days before.

It was both yearning and demanding, and she felt compelled to accept his request without second thought.

Gabriel gently opened his eyes and looked forward with unfathomable emotion in them.

“Ever since we were kids,” he replied, making Eveline gaze at him in complete astonishment.

Gabriel drew back and peered at her with the most genuine expression that nearly plummeted her heart into her stomach, and she hurriedly looked away.

She closed her eyes, attempting to clear her mind of the feelings that were stirring, and returned her gaze to him, solid and serious.

“Then why were you pushing me away?

You knew I was interested in you since we were little, yet you neglected me and my feelings for you?

Why?” Eveline sounded upset, but she was also pissed at him for acting like a jerk in front of her.

Gabriel dropped his eyes in shame.

He knew he was wrong, but he had a reason to act that way.

“I might sound stupid, but I always wanted to see you pursuing your dream which you see to neglect in order to pursue me” Eveline was more than surprised to hear him out.

Her eyelids fluttered as the understanding hit her like a lightning, and she stuttered but didn’t say anything.
