Eveline was always excited about rides as a kid, but her parents would never let her go since she was too small.

But as she grew older, she would frequently bring Stefan and Gabriel along and make them sit on them, making the most of it.

“Are you sure about this?” Eveline inquired, giving Gabriel a doubtful glance.

Gabriel had no idea how true these myths were, but he was willing to attempt anything with Eveline if it meant keeping them together.

Gabriel and Eveline began their fun by riding every ride available inside.

Eveline was always excited for them, so when Gabriel gave her a nod, she made the most of it.

It was surprising to find Gabriel enjoying it alongside her, making it the most memorable visit of her life.

On the other end, Jonathan received the message and promptly opened the photographs.

A glint of happiness sprang on his face, and he swiftly rotated the phone screen to face the individuals seated next him.

Last night, as Gabriel left the house without saying anything, Bella reflected on his disagreement with Eveline.

But later, Jonathan contacted and told them about Eveline’s anguish over the whole marriage situation.

It was unexpected to hear that Eveline did not desire this marriage after being in a relationship with Gabriel, but they eventually realized that it was one-sided from their son’s perspective, while Eveline remained hesitant.

Richard and Belle had always been understanding parents to both their children, but they were especially devoted and caring to Eveline.

“R&D is trying to set their foot internationally and Country S is their first stop” Jonathan’s eyes were icy upon hearing his comments.

The name alone made his mouth clench in rage.

“I know, and they’ve also joined Larson’s Enterprise by investing in their dream project,” Jonathan said, surprising Marcus and Richard.

“I’ve been keeping an eye on them for a long, so it’s not really surprising.

However, I did not anticipate them to already have a supporter,” he remarked, staring at the two.

While on the business trip, Jonathan learned about the latest R&D rumors and how they want to invest in companies throughout the world, setting a benchmark.

They understood he’d need an equal backup to compete, and Larson Enterprise was one of the organizations that could help.

“And you aren’t going to do anything about it?” Belle inquired, finding Jonathan’s reaction too normal for her liking.

Jonathan’s stern countenance distorted slightly when she glanced at Belle, who appeared upset by his composure.

“You know if he happens to step his foot here, your life would be at threat” warned the woman.

“This should not be occurring.

After all these years, why is this occurring now?” Nancy mumbled, feeling unease creep into her heart.

Jonathan did not appear to be scared by their remarks, but if he were to target his people, he would have to use his power to bring that man down.

“If he doesn’t cross the line then I wouldn’t stop him, but if he steps into the line then I know how to deal with it” stated the man with authority.

“Are you sure what you’re talking about, Jonathan?

It’s not so simple as you see it.

“He told you he’d come to take what was his,” she murmured, recalling a distant recollection that still gave her migraines.

“And I will make sure to protect what is in my mind,” he replied, leaving everyone silent.

**** [Amusement Park] After enjoying the rides, the only one left for them to enter was the Ferris Wheel.

Back then, Eveline would desire so much to get into one with Gabriel, however everytime they would fail because of Stefan.

Eveline had tried to express her feelings to Gabriel through her actions, but she was never acknowledged, so she decided to say it out loud instead.

Unfortunately for her, that day never came.

As they waited their turn, Eveline’s heart pounded inside their chest as she remembered the past.

Her thoughts were interrupted when Gabriel grabbed her hand and guided her inside the Ferris wheel.

It was then she realized their turn had arrived, and they would be left alone for now.

The voices outside gradually faded to silence, and she looked at Gabriel with cautious eyes.

They were currently sitting opposite each other, and the moment their gazes met, a rush of emotions ran through her heart, and she quickly looked away.

She felt giddy inside her stomach as the compartment rose.

Eveline thought she was bound to get hyped because she enjoyed every ride at the amusement park, but this Ferris wheel suddenly gave her butterflies.

“Eve, are you alright?” Gabriel’s question startled her.

Eveline felt hot as she remembered something about this, and her cheeks turned crimson at the thought of them doing it inside.

Her gaze immediately focused on Gabriel, who was looking at her with concern.

She was so preoccupied with her thoughts that she did not react and simply stared at him in fear.

Alarmed, Gabriel quickly moved and sat next to her.

She flinched as his hand reached to wipe the sweat from her forehead.

“Wh-what are you doing?” She inquired, her eyes fluttering at the sight of his stunning features.

Eveline’s heart was moved by everything Gabriel did.

However, she had always found a way to get away from him, but not this time.

They were slowly moving at the top, and jumping from there was almost impossible for her.

Gabriel became concerned when he noticed Eveline’s face was turning pale.

“Eve, would you like to get down?” he inquired, concerned.

It was unexpected to see Eveline so pale, and he could not help but wonder how she came to like it.

Eveline could not understand why her heart had suddenly picked up speed and began pounding hard in her chest, making it difficult for her to relax.

A few blinks of her eyes and her vision blurred, shifting her thoughts from their ride to when she was standing on her balcony on the 40th floor.

It was so high that everyone walking down looked like ants.

Her breathing became laboured as her phobia set in.

“I-I can not breathe,” she said, reaching out to grab Gabriel’s hand in fear.

Her vision blurred as every thought spiraled through her mind.

Eveline felt as if she was facing the same fate as that horrific night.

Her mind raced with the fear that someone would push her off the highest height again, and she would die soon.

Eveline was fighting her fear and doing her best to recover from the trauma when a hand wrapped around her nape and her lips crashed on a cold one.

Before her thoughts could register what had happened, her lips moved on their own, following the pace, and a warm sensation crept up to her heart, breaking the suffocating chain around it, and she reciprocated.
