Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 147
Chapter 147: Her taste in men has changed Chapter 147: Her taste in men has changed Max’s mood shifted after that, and he struggled to concentrate on his dinner.
He had no idea that seeing Ella happy without him would make him unhappy, but who cares?
The young man will soon dump her after finding a finer female than her.
“Your ex has found a handsome man,” Priscilla said, observing Max’s solemn expression.
Max looked at her and asked, “Am I not handsome for you to taunt me like that?” Priscilla chuckled and reached for his hand.
“That’s not what I mean, sweetie.
You are the most attractive man I’ve ever set my hands on.
Rather, it’s about your ex, who appears to be finding solace with young men.
Priscilla observed Max’s expression darken instantly after her comment, and she smirked inwardly.
She had always despised Ella for having the man she liked by her side for so long, but she had forgotten that no matter how much a man loves you, he will eventually succumb to his cravings if tempted.
“I wonder if she was always like that, or if her taste in men has changed,” she said, baiting him more.
Max balled his hand, his eyes towering with gloom as he reflected on Priscilla’s remarks.
Ella, as he knew her, was not the type to quickly let go of a relationship.
She treasured every moment they shared, despite her fears.
Back then, he didn’t think much about her requests to slow down and simply obeyed them.
But he quickly understood he wasn’t a saint for ignoring his heart’s longing, and when Pricilla welcomed him, he became needy.
After a month since their reunion, Max and Priscilla had grown close and had made out a few times.
Things accelerated when he became addicted to her and began asking her to their home.
She will go after their duties are completed.
Their affair would have remained a secret if Ella hadn’t run across them one day when she decided to return home earlier than normal and caught them in a compromising situation.
Max would have lied to her anyhow, but as she raised her hand to him, he lost his calm and insulted her.
Ella loved him, but Priscilla met his needs, so he had to choose her.
Furthermore, he was grateful to her for providing him with a reputable job in her company.
Though she was still in a higher position, he was grateful to have a wealthy woman as his girlfriend, who lavished him with luxury.
But now that Priscilla had declared the fact, he couldn’t help but be jealous of Ella’s relationship with another guy, and his thoughts escalated to the point that he was thinking about their intimate moments.
“No, I think they are colleagues or something,” he replied, hate creeping into his heart.
“No colleague would hold hands like that and I am sure they have move past the stage of being superior.” Max clenched his jaw in rage as Priscilla’s comments stabbed the perfect spot in his heart, sparking his jealousy even more, and he lost his appetite to enjoy the dinner.
**** Stefan and Ella arrived at her place, but he noted she remained completely silent throughout the drive.
“What is bothering you, babe?” Stefan questioned as he removed his seatbelt and turned to face her.
His hand carefully picked hers, his eyes fixed on her face.

Stefan wasn’t naive enough to realize what was making her so quiet, so he decided to speak up and find out from her.
Ella took a deep breath, her freezing hands warming under his grip, and looked up.”I understand I shouldn’t be bothered, and it would be unjust to you.
But it’s not easy for you to forget your history because you gave it your all.” She tried to express her concerns openly, knowing Stefan would understand.
Her comments came to a standstill when she spotted a wicked glimmer in his gaze.
“I know,” he responded, despite the fact that his eyes were expressing something else.
Stefan was doing his best to suppress the feeling of possessiveness that was creeping into his heart.
He understood her, but as her partner, he would want her to delete all memories of her ex and start again.
Ella was unsure how she would interpret his remarks because she felt unable to understand him.
‘Don’t tell me he’s jealous,’ she said in her brain, her lips parted in surprise.
Ella did not mean she had a soft spot for Max, as she had moved on from her feelings for him after he cheated on her.
She simply wanted to get past those memories, and she was confident she would.
However, she was unaware that Stefan would react in an inappropriate manner, allowing his possessive side to emerge.
The dread she felt a moment earlier had been replaced by amusement, and she immediately removed her hand from his grip and cupped his face.
Stefan was perplexed as to what Ella was trying to accomplish when he felt her lips touch his, leaving a little lingering sensation, and pulled back.
“You look cute when you’re jealous,” she replied, surprising him with her comment.
Ella did catch him, as he tried to hide his emotions beneath a decent facade.
Stefan was too surprised to respond and hastily glanced away.
It was also surprising for him to discover that he had a tendency to be jealous of others.
However, knowing that Ella had previously loved that guy made him feel uncertain about himself.
“I wasn’t cute,” he murmured, and Ella chuckled in response.
“You weren’t; you looked like a cub.
Those fierce gazes did indeed intimidate me for a moment.” Ella couldn’t stop teasing him, knowing full well how much he disliked being called cute.
He was two years younger than her, but his disposition was mature, and while he occasionally acted childishly, he did not desire to be referred to as cute.
Stefan did not say anything, but the sneer on his lips indicated that he enjoyed being teased.
“I can be your cute cub, but you must not bring the name of that bastard.
I still feel my blood boil every time I remember what he tried to do with you,” his countenance went somber, but Ella soon reassured him.
“I won’t, so please don’t be jealous of him because he means nothing to me,” she said, and Stefan resumed his typical behavior.
“By the way, shall we continue where we left off in the restaurant?
You know, I still feel hard down there.” Ella gave him a startled glance and watched him bring his face closer.
“I don’t think so because I’m too tired and want to sleep,” she responded jokingly, pulling his face back.
“You can use me as a pillow and hug me to sleep,” he proposed, but she declined.
Stefan eventually stopped nagging her and leaned forward to kiss her instead.
However, as all of this was going on, a pair of piercing eyes stared at them from a distance.
Max, who drove to her apartment after Priscilla abruptly left dinner for essential work, happened to witness their delightful moments.
His thoughts swirled over the words Priscilla told him about Ella, and seeing her so happy with Stefan made him believe it.
Max tightened his hold on the steering wheel, started the car, and drove away without sparing another glance their way.
**** After the elders had left the Miller House, another car drove through the gates and came to a stop in front of it.
After an enjoyable date, the couple called it quit and returned home.
However, there was still a lingering earning from the previous incident that kept their minds occupied and prevented them from drifting apart.
“I so want to take you away with me,” Gabriel remarked, removing a hair strand from Eveline’s face and kissing her cheek.
Throughout the drive, he made Eveline sit on his lap while playing with her hands or hair, making her drowsy.
Eveline didn’t have the stamina to go any further after the kiss on the Ferris wheel, so they hurriedly ate dinner and returned home because she was both mentally and physically exhausted.
Even now, she was about to fall asleep with her head resting on his shoulder, but he woke her up with a heavy heart.
Eveline chuckled and carefully rose off his lap, saying, “Are you not satisfied?
We spent the entire day together, yet you still want to abduct me.
Think about my father, who will come after you after this.” Gabriel sighed, leaned back in his seat, and gave her a pity look.
Eveline couldn’t resist smiling at his cuteness, but no matter what he wanted, she still had to leave.
“We’re still going to meet in college,” she continued, hoping he’d lose his stubbornness, but it didn’t work.
Gabriel would never want to leave her, knowing that they would have little time together in college because they would be too busy attending classes.
He also knew she wouldn’t go any further than accepting a date with him.
In the end, he gave up on chasing her and simply nodded.
“Fine,” he responded, leading Eveline to shake her head in surprise.
She immediately pecked him on the cheek and exited the car.
When Eveline went inside, she did not see her father there, but she was happy to hear the car leave the property.
She thought her father was probably sleeping in his room by now, so she went inside her room without bothering him.
“Ah…
oh my god!” Eveline gasps in panic, staring at the figure in front of her, her eyes bulging out of their sockets.
