Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 153
Chapter 153: I hope you will not let me down Chapter 153: I hope you will not let me down “How did you?” Before she could continue her sentence, Stefan responded.
“I saw him driving away,” he stated calmly, not wanting to startle Ella.
Ella lowered her gaze and nibbled her lips, contemplating.
“Why was he there?
I know he did not injure you like the other night.
So I suppose he was there to talk, right?” Stefan inquired, his gaze tracing the expressions on her face.
Ella nodded, not choosing to keep it to herself now that he was aware of the truth.
“He did come to talk, but the conversation never went there and I had him thrown away,” she relayed.
Ella was so irritated by his statements that she felt disgusted to even speak with him.
Back then, he was such a sweet guy who would chat to her gently, only to reveal his true face when he called her a whore and a slut.
She understood how much she didn’t know about him, or was she that blind as to never see past his pretense?
Stefan exhaled and believed her comments, which did not sound contrived, because he knew she would never lie to him about Max.
Stefan couldn’t figure out what was wrong with him or why he was still after her despite being the one who had ended the relationship.
He took a big breath and stretched out to hug her, surprising her by surprise.
“I so want to erase his existence from this world, but I can’t, unless I know what he wants from you now when you have already moved on.” Ella blinked as she remembered Max’s comments, sighed, and buried her face in his shoulder, hugging him back.
“I simply hurt his ego by forgetting him too soon, and now he can’t digest it,” she whispered, forcing Stefan to break away and glance at her in confusion.
“Are you sure you loved that guy?
Now I want to go crush that giraffe face for having a male ego.” Stefan scoffed as he pulled a chair for himself to sit on.
He was enraged, and his hand was dying to punch that man for having such a small brain.
Ella grinned as Stefan mentally cursed Max and kept his temper for her.
She desired this kind of security in her life, where she would feel safe and appreciated.
“You can see that I have weak vision and a foolish heart, which is why I fell for such a scum.” She said in a caustic tone that made him shoot her a quick look.
“In the first place, your heart is too kind to look past a person’s reality, and your eyesight is not weak because you saw me.
But do not worry, you have me now, and I will change the way you see the entire world,” he winked, and she laughed at his frank and hilarious remarks.
“Alright, if that is what you say,” she says, her face starting to get hot.
Instead of meeting his gaze, she just looks away and goes back to work, making sure he doesn’t see it.
**** A woman trembled somewhere inside the closed-off women’s restroom as a hard blow to her pussy came from behind her.
“Ah…Max, be gentle,” Priscilla moaned, feeling the tears roll down her cheeks as Max began to lose his composure and hit her harder than usual.
She was ecstatic when he unexpectedly burst into the unoccupied washroom and forced her into the cubicle.
Although Max always found a way to make her happy, lately he was acting far too harshly, almost making her cry instead of making her smile.

Ella’s words kept repeating in his mind.
He could not help but notice how brave she had grown in the shadow of her wealthy boyfriend when she warned him and mocked him in a way that felt like a hard slap on the face.
Unbeknownst to him, his thoughts had infiltrated his subconscious, causing him to see Ella in Priscilla and envision a myriad of scenarios involving her.
Max hardly got to kiss her in their five years of dating, but he was dying to touch her, something he had never done before.
Yes, Priscilla gave him the best sex, but after all the years of patience he had to endure, he now wanted to taste the forbidden fruit.
When he eventually reached his peak, he lunged against the wall and gasped before tossing the rubber into the trash can.
Priscilla, her hormones still skyrocketing after sex, quickly straightened her dress and turned to face him.
“You were rough this time,” she whispered, licking her lips slowly as she brushed them against his ears.
Max dismissed the comment, fastened his trousers, and left the cubicle.
Priscilla approached him from behind, seizing the opportunity to take advantage of his seeming bad mood.
“What happened, Didn’t you enjoy it?
We did it from behind the first time,” she remarked as she moved slowly in front of him.
Her lips quirked at Max’s distraction.
It was the first time he appeared so upset that he dared not conceal it from her.
With a mocking expression on her face, she took a cigarette out of the box, lit it, and exhaled smoke before inquiring, “Where did you go in the morning?” Max frozen at her question, remembering that he had neglected to tell her where he was going.
Telling her that he went to see Ella because he could not get her out of his head after last night-knowing that their relationship ended badly and that he was now seeing Priscilla-would be foolish on his part.
Without even glancing at her, he lied and said, “I went to meet a friend.” If Max were to annoy Priscilla, he would lose his job and the impending promotion.
Going against her would mean losing his preferred life, as she was both his boss and the head of the department.
Priscilla nodded and tapped the cigarette to get rid of the ash before taking a puff.
“Good that it was your friend and not the other way around.
Max, I hope you will not let me down,” she said, and he gave a stubborn nod.
Max couldn’t stand the scrutinizing gaze and quickly decided to leave.
“I will head out first,” he said, making his way to the door.
Priscilla laughed at his behavior as he swiftly slid out and left, making sure no one was nearby.
“Scared cat,” she muttered, putting out her cigarette and hurrying out of the bathroom.
**** Gabriel stood outside the college building, near the parking lot, watching his brother walk away with Gracey.
The scene was uncommon, as his brother rarely interacts with girls, let alone Eveline.
But seeing his blossoming interaction with Gracey helped him see him from a different perspective.
“I know it’s strange to see Daniel opening up to someone other than us, but trust me, she can perfectly handle him.” Gabriel cast a quick glance at Eveline, who nodded confidently.
They then got into the car and drove away, staring at the two people who were so engrossed in their chat that they barely saw the car that passed them.
“He finally has someone with whom he can openly talk,” Eveline said, prompting Gabriel to frown.
“He is but I feel bad for Gracey; she has to endure his nonsense.” Gabriel clicked his tongue helplessly before ignoring his concerns.
“By the way, I called Officer Matthew regarding the conversation between Alex and Tiffany; however, he refused to disclose any confidential details as it was violating their department regulations.” He spoke with a disappointed face.
“I think now I do have a reason to go and compel Alex’s request,” she remarked matter of factly.
“I still refuse it,” Gabriel said abruptly, prompting her to snap.
“Why is that so?
It’s not like he’s going to attack me or something in the police station.
Furthermore, we shall be separated by a wall, preventing him from making any bad decisions,” Eveline stated.
Gabriel’s bias against Alex was preventing them from gaining information.
Alex’s demand for a meeting with her was unusual, especially given that he was banned to do so due to family pressure.
Nonetheless, he made the request, which left her with a lot of questions.
“I don’t care if you agree or not; I’m still going there, and that’s final, Gabriel,” Eveline said, leaving him furious.
His jaw tensed at her pronouncement, but he couldn’t bring himself to disagree with her.
“Fine, then let’s go together,” he added, giving no room for refusal.
Gabriel was simply curious as to why Alex had made this request.
Despite his agreement with her, he claimed that he would join her.
**** SCREECH….
The bus came to a stop at Bernline Street, and Gracey and Daniel got off.
“I remember coming here to play video games at the Jacuzzi gaming shop across the lane,” he remarked, gesturing in that direction.
Daniel was a pro at gaming and other activities, and he would frequently visit in his spare time.
However, seeing him return to the same location after such a long absence brought back memories.
“Have you ever gone to Batter Up Bakery?
They sell wonderful doughnuts.” Daniel shook his head; nonetheless, the word donut brought water to his tongue.
“Come, let me take you there,” she murmured, catching his eye, and they two walked to the location.
