Chapter 155: Is no one home?
“Thank you for buying from Batter up Bakery.
Please don’t forget to drop by the shop purchase again” Gracey said with a cheerful tone and excited from the location where she delivered the order.
It was surprising to see how many deliveries she had in just one evening, however she was glad that people were already enjoying her mother’s handmade bakery items.
Standing by her bicycle she looked down at the list of places she had already delivered the parcel and now only one place was left.
“Oh, is this place somewhere near Daniel’s house?” She muttered reading the address.
The sound of his name brought a smile on her face.
“He is truly my lucky charm I guess” she said and quickly hop onto the bicycle and started to ride.
It was already getting late and Gracey had to drop the final order at the place to quickly get home.
So she decided to take the quickest route to get there.
The road Gracey too was dark with hardly any people there.
Though she wasn’t familiar with the address she knew the street mentioned in it that got there after inquiring a few people.
Parking the bicycle to the side, she pushed in the gates and walked inside, heading towards the house surprisingly with no lights.
“Eh?
Is no one home?” She muttered standing just a few step away from the door.
Gracey re-read the address and furrow, darting her gaze clueless towards the house.
Soon realization dawn to her and she pulled out the phone from her pocket ready to inform her mother about the latest discovery, however before the call went through, she felt someone hit her from behind and everything turned dark before her eyes.
**** [Winston Mansion] “Hmm…this taste delicious.
Where did you get these donuts from, they are amazing” Belle praised taking the first bite from the delicacy that Daniel bought for her.
They literally melted in her mouth so easy leaving a lasting taste that she couldn’t stop finishing it.
“Did you like that?” He asked observing the satisfying look on Belle’s face and smile instantly made its way to his lips.
“Yes they are, how come I have never came across such tasty donuts” she responded while wiping off her fingers with the tissue and stared at Daniel.
“My friends mother own this small bakery shop, and trust me mom she serves the best bakery items there” he said proudly.
“Okay, and who is that friend.
Isn’t she the one Gabriel talked about” she said, her eyes playfully scrutinizing at him and the smile on his face faltered.
Daniel wasn’t expecting it but now that his brother came alone home, he had to give her a reason,so he told her the truth.
Great!
“Yes her name is Gracey and it’s her mother who makes these tasty donuts” he said, flush of embarrassment creeping his face.
Belle noticed the tint and smiled in amusement.

“Hm, by the way mom, I am sorry to meddle with your work but weren’t you and dad discussing about changing some staff from the canteen department” he asked.
Belle nodded in approval and leaned back on the couch, her arms resting on the armrest,” Yes we are” she said.
Daniel contemplated for a few seconds and said,” I would like to suggest if you could consider taking Aunt Rose in the staff.” Belle was surprised to hear Daniel recommending someone, however she continued to remain calm and hear him speak.
“They have been working very hard but their bakery isn’t getting any profit, in fact they hardly have any customers.
I would request if you consider taking them for the breakfast cuisine.
It would be a great help” Daniel genuinely liked the donuts he had and he was confident that the other bakery items would also be delicious.
So as a genuine customer he wanted to recommend their name to his mother now that he recalled their conversation.
Belle was impressed with Daniel’s thoughtfulness.
She knew her son was a kind hearted person and hearing him helping someone was a proud thing.
“I will consider it but first you need to introduce us to them” she said and a broad smile appeared on his lips.
“Sure, I will inform Gracey about it.
Thank you mom” Daniel was more that delight and quickly rushed to huge Belle before sprinting towards his room.
Belle couldn’t stop smiling and she continued to pick another donut to eat, enjoying the flavour melting in her mouth.
**** Eveline walked out of the bathroom, refreshed, got changed and headed to meet her father who arrived early home.
Jonathan’s timings were bothersome however she was relieved that he was finally back home.
Standing outside his room, Eveline knocked twice until she heard she ask her to come inside, only to find him sleepily on the bed.
“Dad, what happened to you?
Are you not feeling well?” She asked quickly rushing to his side.
Jonathan was worn due to constant thinking and had migraine that restricted him from going further with his work.
He did consulted his doctor who suggested him to rest and let his brain be at ease for a while to which he comply and returned home.
However he didn’t realise Eveline would come to meet him as soon as she returns home.
Jonathan opened his drowsy eyes and looked at Eveline’s concerned face “Eve, princess.” He responded with a raspy tone and tried to push himself to sit but she stopped him.
“Don’t, please rest.
I will call the doctor” she urged ready for action but was stopped.
“I already got checked.
Its just the migraine ” he said and she looked at him in concern.
“Are you sure dad” Eveline asked once again to reassure her doubts and he nodded in agreement, putting on a genuine smile.
Eveline closed her eyes and laid her head on his chest, hugging him securely.
After her mother’s death, Eveline had become prone to this fear of something happening to her father then she would be left alone.
The fear wasn’t constant but whenever she found Jonathan fall sick, she would panic, her heart clutched in fears.
“Don’t worry, nothing wrong.” He assured caressing her back and she shook her head pulling back.
“Is everything okay in the office?
Why are you overworking yourself.
Look how it’s affecting your health dad” she asked out of concern.
She knew her father owned a multi-billion company and was a busy man, however with years she saw him working way to hard, hardly concerning about his health.
Jonathan smile falter as a thought crossed his mind but he quickly resume it back and declined her worries.
“Everything is fine in the office.
There is nothing to worry” he said caressing her face.
Jonathan knew Eveline was worried for him, however he wasn’t ready to tell her anything.
Eveline on the other hand gave his words some thoughts and nodded in understanding.
“Dad, I would want to help you with our business after graduation.
I know it’s sudden but I want to give it a try” she said out of the blue causing Jonathan to furrowed.
“No, first you focus on you studies and find your dreams.
I won’t burden my daughter with company stuff.
You father is there to look after it” he said firmly declining her words for now.
Jonathan would never want Eveline to sideline her career or dreams because of him.
It was just a minor stress that got him caught up but he would back in track.
So there was no need for her to think about it for now.
“And- before you could say anything, hear me out.
I want my daughter to concentrate on her studies find her dreams.
I wouldn’t want her to burden herself because of me” he said with a tinge of assurance in his tone and amd she reluctantly nodded.
Eveline had no idea what she wanted from her life.
She was still confused but now that she looked through her mind, it wasn’t bad to take over the family business and help her father.
After sometime she dropped the idea and continued to stay by Jonathan’s side until he fell asleep.
She the tucked him under the duvet and left his room without making a sound, slowly closing the door behind.
On her way she stumble upon Susan who happened to bring a bowl of soup for Jonathan.
“Is master okay.
I prepared some soup for him” she said looking at the tray on her hand.
A smile tugged her lips as she was touched with Susan’s thoughtful gesture.
She had always been this caring towards them.
Thoughtful during the toughest time.
“You are so considerate Aunt Susan, but dad is sleeping right now.
How about you give him the soup after he is awake” she said and Susan nodded in agreement.
Susan than turned to leave but Eveline stopped her.
“Aunt Susan, can I ask you something?” She said and the lady nodded instantly.
“Are you aware of Tiffany liking towards Gabriel?” As soon as those words left her mouth, Susan’s face pale in a instant.
