Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 156
Chapter 156: Where are you,Gracey Chapter 156: Where are you,Gracey Rather than feel compelled to keep it a secret from her, Susan just nodded in return.
She was unable to conceal her daughter’s feelings from him any longer, knowing how intensely she would harbor them.
Eveline’s eyelashes fluttered as she inhaled deeply.
“You need to know something about Tiffany,” she said aloud, making her wary of the information she had posted about her daughter in stores.
It was not long before they arrived at her room.
Susan was then asked to take a seat on the couch while Eveline locked the door.
Although Susan was apprehensive, she quickly gave in to her demands and took a seat.
Eveline joined her as well, sitting closer to her with her body facing her.
Susan, unable to control her growing anxiety and the tension it was causing between her, asked, “Has Tiffany done something wrong, Young Miss?” Comparatively, Eveline remained composed.
She was relieved that Susan had not attempted to fabricate the story, but before she spoke further, she wanted to get the answers to a few questions.
“Aunt, how long have you known about it?” she asked.
Susan twitched her fingers apprehensively and her expression became wary.
“A few days ago,” she said in a low voice.
Eveline sighed with resignation as she spoke with a hint of shame.
It must have been very hard for Susan to keep the truth to herself, knowing how terrible she must have felt after learning it.
It was evident from the way she lowered her eyes in shame that she had attempted to speak with her but the conversation had not gone well.
Consequently, her only option at that point was to reveal her daughter’s truth.
It took a moment for her to look up as she slowly reached out to take her hand, then gave it a light squeeze.
“Aunt Susan, do you trust me?” Eveline knew the truth, but she asked anyhow.
Susan nodded without hesitation, her eyes resolutely fixed.
She mustered the guts to tell Susane e everything about Tiffany and her nefarious plans to ruin her life, saying, “Then please listen to me because whatever I am going to tell you will leave you shocked.” Susan could not take it any longer and trembled, covering her mouth.
Her head shook in dismay as her tears seemed to never stop falling from her eyes.
“How can she do this to you?” She said, her voice hoarse due to crying.
Despite Susan’s belief that she had raised her daughter well and kept her out of her father’s shadow, her daughter proved that she was indeed Jacob’s daughter and that she was his blood relative.
Selfish and callous.
Her heart contracted, and she glanced helplessly at Eveline, who appeared to be affected by her weeping.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” She posed the question.
Tiffany was Susan’s daughter, and Eveline had no idea.
She had seen her once when she was four, and Susan, being an introvert, never provided her any information about her family, which stopped her from getting assured.
How was she meant to know when she was also kept in the dark?

She understood it wasn’t her fault, but her daughter handled their feelings effectively.
“I was a fool to not know it sooner.” Eveline accepted responsibility for being too blind to see anything and let Tiffany get her way.
Susan said nothing and looked at Eveline with anguish before her heart erupted in rage and she stood up.
“I’ll confront her about everything!” Susan exclaimed, “She needs to answer me,” as she prepared to go, but Eveline stopped her.
“Not now, Aunt Susan,” her words caused her to frown, but the explanation she told her made her immediately agree with her.
**** Eveline returned to her room after a serious discussion with Susan.
She felt a big weight lifted off her shoulders after confronting her about Tiffany’s purpose.
Yes, she was heartbroken to see her daughter had turned out to be so terrible, and she kept blaming herself for not noticing it sooner so she could stop her.
If only she had known she was too late to regulate Tiffany’s motivation, she might have pulled the reins at the perfect time.
It was a major blow, but Eveline made sure Susan didn’t keep blaming herself or act foolishly, which could impede her progress.
She sank on the bed, closed her eyes, and took a big breath.
“I just hope everything goes well, but first I need to speak with Gabriel and see if he was able to contact the head cop about the meeting tomorrow,” she said, hurriedly pushing herself up to sit and reaching out to grab her phone from the bedside table to call Gabriel.
The phone rang for a few seconds before he answered it.
“Missing me already babe” came his voice from the other end, forcing her to roll her eyes.
Eveline knew he was smiling on the other side, making assumptions about her dying to talk to him, but she had to puncture his fantasy bubble.
“My bad for not missing you at all.” She spat, removing the smile from his face that she could envision in her brain.
Gabriel was delusional about her persistent want to see her when it was all around him.
However, now was not the time to flirt and get straight to the point.
“Did you called officer Ethan and told him about the meeting tomorrow?” She questioned, and the phone went dead for a few seconds before she heard him hum.
“But why don’t you want Alex to know you agreed?
Are you planning something, Eve?
If so, I need to know.” He questioned, his tone serious and authoritative.
Eveline knew Gabriel would eventually doubt her.
She marveled how he kept a close eye on everything she said, as if he knew it well enough to disbelieve it.
“I will tell you, but make sure you don’t interfere and let me handle things on my own,” she requested assurance from him before opening up her thoughts.
Eveline waited while he did not respond to her straight away, but he did eventually, with agreement.
“Fine,” he said, and she took a big breath and explained why she was repulsed.
“But what if he tries to harm you?” he questioned, his voice full of fear.
“He won’t” Gabriel’s lips twitch at her confident tone.
“Are you that confident about him?” he questioned, his tone mocking.
Eveline rolled her eyes and gave a frustrated sigh.
“Will you stop behaving like a possessive boyfriend?” She exclaimed, her heart racing with rage.
“Why ask if you already know?” he said, leaving her speechless.
When it came to this, she had no chance of winning him over.
“Whatever, I want you to know your limits if you do not want me to cut you out of my life,” she warned, putting an end to the argument.
Gabriel also did not argue and quickly changed the subject.
However…
“Brother, could you please ask Eveline to call Gracey?
She is not returning my calls.” Daniel barged into his room unexpectedly and interrupted their conversation.
Gabriel glared at him, and he gave him a clueless expression.
“What?
“Do it quickly,” Daniel continued, ignoring his stares.
He had attempted to contact her via phone and text message for quite some time, but she had not responded.
He was eager to tell her about what his mother had told him, but she was not available.
“Why is Daniel calling Gracey at this time?
Eveline’s voice drew Gabriel’s attention, and he moved on the bed to sit properly, keeping his piercing gaze on Daniel and saying “I do not know how much of her brain he has to eat that he is not satisfied even after spending the entire evening with her,” Gabriel said out loud, which drew Daniel’s attention and caused him to furrow his brow.
But something suddenly came to mind, and he rushed to his side, “Is that Eveline?
Give me the phone?” Before Gabriel could respond, Daniel had already snatched the phone from his hand and walked away, talking “Eveline, could you please call Gracey and ask her to answer my phone calls?” Daniel requested that he sound genuine in his concerns for her.
“Okay, but first tell me why?
Did you fight with her, which is why she is not answering your phone?” She simply asked, making an assumption.
The two appeared to be fine leaving college together, but what went wrong was that she declined his calls.
“I swear I did not do anything.” Daniel defended himself by saying, “We were good the entire time at her bakery shop,” which made her cock her brow amused.
“So she took you to her family shop?” she inquired, and he responded innocently.
This time, Gabriel rolled his eyes at him for his dumb expression.
“And that is the only reason I want to speak with her,” he added, causing Gabriel to arch his brow in question.
Daniel did not waste time extending the conversation and explained why he so desperately wanted to talk to her.
Eveline agreed, taking in his words, and promised to call him when she answered the phone.
When the call ended, Daniel handed Gabriel his phone, but his piercing glare stopped him, giving him goosebumps.
Meanwhile, Eveline tried calling Gracey but was unable to reach her, confirming Daniel’s words. “Where are you, Gracey?” She muttered, cluelessly.
