Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 157
Chapter 157: I am not done with you Chapter 157: I am not done with you Susan returned home, her thoughts jumbled from hearing all Eveline had said.
She desperately wanted to face Tiffany, but Eveline’s comments held her back.
Susan entered the house after unlocking the door, only to discover Jacob was drinking inside.
Her nose wrinkled and her brow furrowed as she shot him a disgusting glare.
“How dare you do this fifthly stuff in my house, and who gave you the money to buy those expensive drinks?” she said, racing towards him.
Her eyes noticed the rate at which Jacob was devouring the bottles and she gave him a questioning stare.
Jacob smiled as he poured him another glass.
“I win the jackpot, so stop going to the Miller House.
I can provide you both.” Now that he said those words Susan was finally able to question the things that bothered her.
So she nodded and set down her purse aside to join him on the couch.
“I will, once you tell me why.
Why should I quit my job, and what type of jackpot did you win this time?
I hope it’s not another accumulated debt I have to cover up for you, because I won’t this time.” Her words, sharp as a razor, slashed directly through his ego, taking his satisfied smile off his face.
“Don’t you think you’ve grown brave enough over the years to stand up to someone like this?
I have been lenient, but it does not imply I will grant the right to appeal my judgment.
Don’t forget, I’m still the head of the household.” Jacob was irritated by her audacity in speaking out against his assertions.
Susan smirked and shook her head, helplessly.
“So the family patriarch finally understood his responsibilities as a man of the house.
Where was this person when he drowned himself in booze and left his wife in charge of the family and their daughter?” Jacob’s lips twitched at her taunting statement, and he smashed his hand against the table in rage.
“You’re pushing yourself too hard, Susan.
Do not tell anyone that man gave you the strength to resist your husband.
Don’t forget, I can demolish your bravery in no time.
Susan’s smile faded, and her eyes gazed blankly at him, warning him inwardly.
“What makes you think I’ll take all of your beatings like before?
I’ve been subservient because I expected my love for you to transform you over time, but it hasn’t.
So there is no love, and therefore no submissiveness.
And what did you say about Jonathan?
Before questioning someone else, please reflect on your own brain cells.
A brother and sister’s pure relationship should not be questioned because you are fully aware that anything you believe is false.
However, your thick brain wouldn’t see through it.” Susan’s comments hit the perfect point in his heart, causing the growing wrath to reach its peak, and he roared, preparing to slap her.

“Ah!” Jacob was pushed back on the couch with force after Susan grabbed his hand to stop him from hitting her.
“I said not again,” Susan’s words were icy as an iceberg, sending chills down his spine.
Despite her trembling, her words carried an unwavering threat that daunted him.
Jacob wanted to fight her, but before he could, Tiffany strolled into the home, and when their gazes met, they frowned in perplexity.
“Where have you been, Tiffany?
And what’s wrong with your sneakers.
Why are they covered in mud?” Susan first inquired, her voice oozing with indifference.
Tiffany remained silent because she didn’t expect her mother to return home earlier, but then she looked at the clock and mentally scoffed at herself for being slow.
“Why are you asking her where she was?
She is an adult and can come whenever she wants,” Jacob said, taking Tiffany’s side.
Susan flashed Jacob a piercing stare, and he glared back.
He then gave Tiffany a signal, and she started moving.
“I am not done with you Tiffany!” Susan raised her voice, abruptly stopping her.
“And you…
please keep out of this.
Do not try to talk between us!” she admonished, giving him a dark glare before turning her head to Tiffany.
“I want to know what you’ve been up to,” she said, and this time her words made her shudder.
Susan was not willing to let her go, no matter what.
She had to confront her daughter now that she was aware of her characteristics.
Her menaic behavior was unknown to her until she discovered her obsession with Gabriel and how she dares to separate the marriage because she cannot let go of the person.
However, she was unaware that her daughter was already on the verge of damaging Eveline’s life without her awareness.
“I went for a walk,” she lied to her mother.
“Okay, how did you get mud on your shoes?
It isn’t even raining for them to become this dirty?” she asked, making it impossible for Tiffany to respond.
She balled her hand, her thoughts racing with excuses to get Susan to halt her probe, but Jacob spoke before she could say anything.
“Enough with this crap.
Don’t you see she’s damaging the carpet?
Let her go and clean herself.
And why don’t you believe her when she says she was out for a walk?
Maybe she trod in dirt; what’s the big deal for you to make a fuss and question her life?” “D-dad is right, Mom.
I stepped into the mud unknowingly and ruined my shoes,” she said again, not faltering.
Susan gave Tiffany a hard look before finally sending her to her room to freshen up.
However, deep down, she was dissatisfied with her responses since she knew her daughter had mastered the ability to lie right in front of her.
Tiffany slammed the door, her gaze immediately going to her shoes.
She raced into the bathroom and immediately washed them off.
Throughout the task, all she could think about was not letting anyone know what she was up to, not even her mother, or things would become tough for her to deal with.
