Chapter 184: Brother?
Ella swallowed when she saw his gloomy gaze, her knees shaking with fear.
“Are you implying that I should stop seeing you?” He asked coldly.
Ella had never been terrified of Stefan before, but the way he gazed at her made her legs weak and her voice dry as she refused to speak anything.
Stefan realized he had been acting difficult, but the way Ella was attempting to create a line between them was unacceptable, especially because he knew he was not to blame.
As he stared at her terrified expression, he dropped his guard and his eyes softened.
Stefan had a dark side that he rarely revealed, and seeing how just his glance scared her, he decided not to push any further and handle things calmly.
“I understand Priscilla said something to you, which is why you are acting differently.
But it does not mean I will let you push me when I am not to blame.” Stefan spoke as he reached to touch her face, and she flinched.
Stefan knew Ella would never admit it, but her insecurities were deeper than he could comprehend, and he knew she wouldn’t be able to overcome them overnight.
Ella’s eyelashes fluttered at the sound of his deep words, which triggered something in her heart and caused them to well up in response.
She didn’t want to cry, but given how effortlessly this person could read her, she wondered whether she’d ever be able to hide anything from him.
This man was younger than her and often acted childishly, but when it came to knowing her, he was mature enough to pick up on every feeling she tried to disguise.
She is now refusing to allow him get close to her.
“Why do you believe she must have said something to me?
Maybe we didn’t talk,” she remarked, diverting her gaze and blinking away tears before returning a blank stare.
Stefan’s heart clenched at the sight of her lifeless eyes and icy tone, but he refused to bulge and instead remained solid.
“If she didn’t say anything, why the distance?” Stefan responded calmly, “Why would you even consider going alone if you aren’t bothered by what she said?” Ella did not want to fight, but she also knew he would not let go unless she accepted that something had happened.
“Fine, if you want to take me home, then do it because I can’t handle your nagging.
It’s irritating,” she said, pushing him away and making her way to the elevator.
Stefan sadly gazed at her, his eyes filled with anguish.
He had never seen Ella so aloof, choosing to give in rather than tell him what was bothering her.
Stefan inhaled to calm his nerves after staring at her for a while before proceeding to the elevator, where they entered.
**** The car was traveling at its lowest speed, causing a certain person to lose their mind.
Her eyes caught sight of other automobiles passing by while they remained behind, confusing them into looking their way.
Eveline rolled her eyes and took a deep breath before facing the driver and asking, “Are you driving slowly on purpose?” “Hm” he said curtly, refusing to look her in the eyes that were virtually drilling holes in his flesh.
She desperately wanted to yell at him for being lame, but she swallowed her rage and kept looking out to avoid beating the heck out of him.
After almost half an hour, the car finally arrived at the Mansion gates, and she exhaled a sigh of relief.
Eveline was about to walk out, but Gabriel stopped her.

“Why are you eager to leave?” He inquired with a slightly disturbed tone.
Eveline’s forehead wrinkled as she gave him an inconceivable look, saying, “Because I have to.
You already took an hour to bring me home, and now I want to leave.” Without waiting for his response, Eveline exited the car and entered the house.
Eveline had had enough and wanted to take a vacation.
“Young Miss, you are back,” an old voice interrupted her thoughts, and her gaze shot to Susan.
Eveline’s face lit up as she rushed towards her and hugged her.
“Thank you so much,” she added with gratitude.
Susan couldn’t help but smile as she felt the hot tears rise up in her eyes.
They soon settle on the couch, with Eveline still clutching Susan’s hand and refusing to let go.
“How could you leave me, Aunt Susan.
Do you no longer love me, or was the guilt so overwhelming that you chose to abandon me?” Eveline complained, peering into Susan’s eyes and seeing her shake her head, tears streaming down her cheeks.
“How could I forsake you, Young Miss?
You’re my daughter.
I couldn’t face you after what Tiffany did to you.
I felt equally blamed for not knowing her well,” she expressed her disappointment.
Susan had always assumed Tiffany was an intelligent girl, but she was mistaken, and she now questioned whether she was the same daughter she had seen growing up.
Eveline lowered her gaze as Susan spoke, and she quickly refused all of her claims.
“As I previously stated, you are the best mother any child could have.
You love your child wholeheartedly, Aunt Susan, so never blame yourself.
Tiffany couldn’t inherit your kindness,” she explained, and Susan nodded.
As they continued to converse, pushing away all negative thoughts, another servant strolled in and interrupted their conversation.
“Young, there’s an envelope for Master,” she stated, causing Eveline to frown.
Eveline was surprise to see some confidential document arrive at home when usually it gets delivered to the office.
However, with further inspection of the envelope, it appears to be an invitation.
Quickly taking the thing in her hands, she dismissed the lady and gazed at the brown envelope in astonishment.
“I’ll go get something to eat you,” Susan replied, and she excused herself to the kitchen, as Eveline debated whether to open the package or not.
She had never meddled with her father’s affairs, especially those pertaining to his business, but she was now curious as to know what was inside.
‘Dad won’t be upset,’ she told herself after a lengthy discussion with herself before opening the envelope.
As expected, it was an invitation card, and as she opened it to read it, her eyes squinted and her lips parted toward the end.
“Your brother, Jederick,” she mumbled, her expression bewildered as she struggled to comprehend the word brother.
