Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 190
Chapter 190: How did you die?
Chapter 190: How did you die?
“What crap are you spewing!
How can you accuse me like that?” Jacob snapped at her skeptical remarks.
Susan shrugged his comments, her eyes suspiciously lingering over his seething face, and remarked, “I merely stated because you are acting strange” Jacob’s chest heaved with the force of her questioning look, and he spat, “I’m not acting strange.
I just don’t see why they keep calling us when we already have our statements.” Susan sighed helplessly and stood up.
“Let’s go and give another.
It won’t cost us anything, and we’ll get to meet Tiffany,” she stated as she turned to walk to the bathroom.
Jacob, who had been talking deep breaths, felt his heart leap out of his chest.
He had no idea how readily he lost his composure, to the point where Susan became intrigued by his behaviour.
‘I should be cautious in front of Susan.
This placid woman of mine has suddenly become hostile,” he thought to himself before gradually calming down.
**** Meanwhile, somewhere along the beach, Eveline and Gabriel sat on the sand and glanced at the sea.
The starry night and the crescent light of the moon falling on the glistening water made the night appear magnificent.
“Is it peaceful here?” Gabriel inquired, shifting his focus from the lake to Eveline, who sat with her eyes closed, savouring the moment.
Gabriel knew Eveline liked beaches and water, so when he chose to spend some time with her, this was the only place he could think of.
It was relaxing and tranquil, with no one to disturb or any bothersome thoughts.
Eveline gently opened her eyes and turned to face Gabriel, who was already staring at her in admiration, reminding her of the previous night.
She was nervous, but she loved the way he fixed his gaze on her, filling her heart with love.
“How do you know me so well, Gabriel.
It makes me question why I never noticed this and remained believing in my overthinking thoughts.
I believed you didn’t care, but I was mistaken.
You know me better than I do, and it’s unbelievable that all this time I blamed you for being cold to me and hating me.” Since Eveline was struck by Gabriel’s rebirth, which occurred only after his death, the question of how he came to be reborn has persisted in her thoughts.
She had been yearning to know how he…
died, but she couldn’t bring herself to say it since she was afraid of the explanation.
Gabriel noticed the pondering in her eyes, as well as her guilt for not being aware of his feelings sooner, but she was not to blame.
He was the coward, if that is the correct word.
If he had been that brave to admit his feelings, things between them would not have gone awry, and they would not have missed out on life back then.
But now they had a new life, and he intended to make the most of it by loving her every moment.
Gabriel shifted slightly, a flash of light in his eyes, and urged Eveline to sit between his legs.

His hands were wrapped around her waist, gently massaging her tummy, and his lips were brushing against her shoulder as he added, “If I had told you sooner, maybe you wouldn’t have suffered.
My cowardice caused your loneliness, and you wouldn’t have been compelled to leave me, Eve.
It was all my fault, and as a result, we were punished and lost everything.” Gabriel’s hot breath caressed her skin, and she flinched at the contact of his wet tears before turning her head to see him crying.
“I apologize for not being there for you when you were going through so much emotionally.
If only I had known you were pregnant, Eve, I would have run to you right away.
Because I loved you and there was no way I could let you divorce me,” he continued, as her eyes widened with awareness.
“Yes, Eve, I know everything, and I am sorry for not having the courage to tell you what I planned on doing with Tiffany.” He proceeded.
“You knew Tiffany was the one all along,” she inquired, her voice breaking at the thought.
“Yes, that’s why I planned on exposing her with proof’s.” He said, lowering his eyes in shame.
“I discovered she liked me after she attempted to seduce me, and then thoughts began to swirl in my mind, making me suspicious of her intentions.
But confronting her immediately was not an option.
She desired me, so I began an affair with her to learn more about her, and it was then that I discovered she was responsible for all of our disagreements.
But what surprised me was that she drugged both of our drinks that night at the graduation party,” he remarked, feeling Eveline’s hard gaze on him.
His grip around her tightened in anxiety, anticipating she would shove him after learning the truth that he had neglected to tell her in their previous incarnations.
But to his surprise, she did not flinch.
Instead, she placed her palm under his chin, forcing him to gaze directly into her eyes.
“Speak,” she whispered, and his lips quivered slightly before he proceeded.
“She wanted to frame me and trap me in guilt to take responsibility for taking advantage of her in intoxication, but her plan failed and I ended up sleeping with you,” he continued.
Her eyes widened with rage.
“Do you know how I got there?” she questioned.
He nodded.
“She wasn’t the one in this whole scheme, but someone was assisting her, and I doubt the person was anyone other than Alex,” he revealed, and everything began to make sense.
Eveline would always discover something similar in the voices she heard in her dreams, and now Gabriel has revealed that it is the one matching Alex.
That night inside the hotel, she couldn’t see that man’s face, but she did catch a portion of his voice, which turned out to be none other than Alex’s.
“How can you be confident?” she said, still unable to bring her thoughts to a conclusion.
“Because he is the only one I can doubt, even if he wasn’t in the picture at the time,” Gabriel answered, making her brow furrow.
“No, he was, but we didn’t notice him since things were different than they are now.
I was aware of what had occurred and set about investigating it, which is how we learnt about Alex and how he came into the scene.
Back then, that never happened,” she remarked thoughtfully, making Gabriel’s heart race.
“Things will not go as they did back then.
“We will not let fate repeat itself,” he whispered, grabbing her gaze with his resolute eyes.
The two were silent, until Eveline questioned, “How did you die, Gabriel?” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS akshaya_vanne Thank you Katie_Holub, Dera_Odinde, Miyaka0424, Maddy174, yashmello and blinksoo324 for the golden tickets.
