Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 193
Chapter 193: Are you cheating on me?
Chapter 193: Are you cheating on me?
Priscilla prepared for work.
Satisfied with her appearance, she grabbed up her handbag and turned to go when she noticed Max exiting the bathroom after taking a shower.
She couldn’t help but compare his slightly bulkier physique to Stefan’s.
‘Will he also be this masculine?
I am sure he will’ Priscilla had been fascinated about Stefan since she first lay eyes on him at the restaurant with Ella.
She tried to learn more about him and discovered that he was the son of the owner, for whom she worked as an assistant.
She was so jealous of Ella’s success in discreetly dating the owner’s son, who was poised to take over the empire, that she started a rumor about their connection by leaking it in front of a buddy who worked at Hayes International.
One word from her was enough to spread the stories, and others would undoubtedly begin speculating about Ella character.
She had already ruined her image, but knowing Ella, a strong-willed woman, it would take her some time to demolish her self-esteem.
Snapping out of her reverie, she turned at Max and remarked, “I’ll be heading to the office first,” before taking a stride to leave when Max stopped her.
“Your phone kept blinking all night with messages.
May I ask who was trying to talk to you at night?” Max inquired, taking a step closer to her.
Priscilla didn’t expect Max to notice it, figuring he had gone asleep after a passionate encounter fumble.
“It was a friend.” She said, and his eyes furrowed as he struggled to process her experience, which appeared to take him by surprise.
“And who is this friend who doesn’t know the basic decency of not distrubing someone late at night.” When he inquired, Priscilla became nervous.
Max understood Priscilla was becoming concerned because she was attempting to conceal a bizarre thing from him.
“Are you cheating on me Priscilla?” He questioned unexpectedly, prompting her to gaze into him wide eyes.
“Where does that come from!” Priscilla, who hadn’t expected Max to talk rubbish, argued back.
“Then why don’t you tell me the name of your friend who was texting you nonstop as if dying to get a response from you” snapped the man.
Priscilla had no idea Max would be up all night stalking her, but now that he’s discovered something amiss, he’s accusing her of cheating.
‘What kind of jealous lunatic man have I gotten myself involved with?’ Priscilla took a long breath, calmed herself, and stated, “You’re mistaken.
The message came from an old school classmate whom I met a few days ago.
So is always inviting me to go out with her for lunch, and I am still considering it.
So maybe that’s why she kept texting me to see what decision I made.” When Max heard Priscilla, his fury subsided slightly.
He knew Priscilla wouldn’t lie to him with that angry expression on her face.
Perhaps he was the one who was being nosy about her situation, doubting her for no reason.
“If you say so, maybe I was wrong to doubt you,” he responded, returning to his regular state.
Priscilla sighed and took a step closer to him, kissing him on the cheek and saying, “Rest assured Max, I won’t chest on you after waiting for you for so long.” Max gave her a side smile and nodded.

He was possessive for no apparent reason, but the prospect of Priscilla meeting someone behind his back reminded him of his own behavior with Ella, and he couldn’t help but feel betrayed.
When Priscilla discovered Max was back to normal, she took a step back.
“So, I’ll depart.
Meet you in the office,” she said as she turned to leave the house.
Priscilla breathed a sigh of relief as the door closed, knowing she had successfully coaxed the enraged lion into believing her words.
“I need to be careful around Max,” she mumbled to herself, realizing he was watching her and what she was doing.
Standing outside for a while, she calmed herself and began moving to the elevator, eventually driving to the company.
**** [Library] Gracey had been attempting to focus on her studies, but she saw Daniel’s gaze on her every now and again.
She considered ignoring him at first, but it soon became bothersome to her, and she paused before casting her gaze in his direction.
“Do you have any problems?
If so, say it; don’t keep looking at me,” she murmured, and he shifted slightly in his chair.
“Gracey, we’ve been studying for so long, how about we take a short break?” Daniel suggested, and she immediately shook her head.
“No, I can’t, but if you are tired, feel free to take a rest.
I have so much to study,” she said, and his expression saddened as she didn’t glance up at him again and returned her gaze to the book.
Gracey had been so busy helping Daniel with his academics that she barely had time to focus on her own.
So, when she noticed him concentrating on his job, she decided to learn for herself.
“Come on, Gracey.
It’s simply a little break.
Can’t you take some time to talk with me?
He implored her not to leave him.” Daniel had begun to appreciate Gracey’s company, and whenever they sat down for studies, he secretly admired her.
He never anticipated sneaking a peek at a woman who was only supposed to be a friend, but as time went, he discovered he had developed feelings for her.
It was surprising, but being with Gracey made him extremely happy, and he no longer felt alone or out of the box.
Gracey gave him a severe look, but he continued to play pity, nearly begging with her, till she finally gave in.
“Fine,” she responded, and his mood improved as they left the library and went someplace.
Ten minutes later…
“How come I never know about this place?” Gracey stared toward the ice cream shop where Daniel had taken her.
