Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 202
Chapter 202: I need to hear everything Chapter 202: I need to hear everything Priscilla fumed as she slammed the car door shut.
The way Ella threatened her didn’t sit well with her, and she pledged to make her pay for humiliating her like that.
“You’ve finally found your wings, Ella, but I’ll chop them off shortly.
You may have found the strength to stand up for yourself, but I will soon have you fall flat on your face.
You believe in your connection, but you will soon see a coin flip in my court, just like Max.
After all, men only need one thing.” Her lips twisted into a menacing smile as she focused on the structure in front of her.
She had already played her cards by starting rumors about her intimate relationship with Stefan, which would soon reach the CEO.
But that wasn’t the case; she was planning something even more horrifying for her this time.
As her eyes glinted evilly, she swiftly began typing something on her phone and texting her.
“Now I will see how you will be able to continue like that” *** Eveline had been hopping between hospital and college, completing her responsibilities as a loyal daughter and diligent student.
Fortunately, the college had scheduled a week off for the students to prepare for their exams and she could finally take a breath.
After packing her belongings, she walked out of the college building and into the parking lot, where Gabriel’s car was waiting for her.
“You look tired?” Gabriel took note of her weary state and pulled the bag from her grasp.
He then opened the door for her and helped her seat inside before walking to the other side and entering.
After instructing the driver, they drove out of the college gates, with Gabriel frequently checking on Eveline.
“I heard you’re going to the Larson Group software Launch event on behalf of Uncle Jonathan,” he said, drawing her closer to him.
“Hmm, but I’m not sure what I’m supposed to do there.
I mean, this is my first time attending a business gathering, and to make matters worse, I don’t know anyone there,” she pointed out.
“You recognize me.
Stefan and Ella.” He said, “We three are enough,” and she raised her eyes to stare at him, delighted.
She then lowered her head onto his shoulder and closed her eyes.
“My dad, indeed has a brother and his name is Jedrick.” She said this, forcing Gabriel to pause for a few seconds before looking down at her.
“He was adopted by my grandparents, and that’s all I know,” she groaned sadly.
Gabriel knew something was bothering Eveline; otherwise, she would not have pursued this matter for so long, despite her father’s refusal to say so.
“You doubt the Jedrick who sent the invitation and the one your grandparents adopted are the same,” he said, and she stared at him, surprised.
“I have no doubt.
“I am confident because there is no way my father would think so much about the mention of his name,” she said, pulling herself away from his grasp.
Eveline suspected Jonathan’s connection with Jedrick wasn’t great, which is why he kept his existence hidden.
But now that the reality was beginning to emerge, she was curious as to what had gone wrong and where he had been all along.
“Tomorrow, he will show himself publicly, and I want to be there to witness it,” she continued, her eyes filled with determination.

“You will, but first I want to tell you something about the accident,” he said, and she turned to face him, her brow furrowed in worry.
“The car that smashed uncle’s car was discovered abandoned on the outskirts with no number plate.
Further inquiry revealed that it was picked up from a garage at the least price by a man, but his name remains unknown.” Such a straightforward examination, yet it became increasingly complex, as if it had been purposefully escalated.
“Who would want to kill Dad?” she mumbled.
Eveline had never faced such a threat in her life before, so what was going on was unexpected.
‘Was this the reason she was resurrected, to learn what happened to her father after she died?’ Eveline whined as her head ached from all of the things racing through her mind.
“Do not overstress yourself.
We’ll find the person.
I’ve asked Stefan to look into the situation as well, and I am confident he will unearth something relevant about the individual who caused the tragedy.” Eveline slowly opened her eyes, a new worry rising in her heart as she weighed his comforting words against her suspicions.
How was she supposed to convince him that it wasn’t as simple as he thought, and that their rebirth was much more terrifying?
As the couple remained in this position, Eveline’s gaze shifted to the tinted glass, and a profound frown appeared on her face.
She quickly pulled away from Gabriel’s grasp and turned her head to stare out the window as their car drove down the street.
“What happened?
Do you want me to stop?” Gabriel asked.
Eveline continued to stare at the fainting figure, shaking her head.
“No, please take me home,” she replied, resuming to her former posture in his arms.
**** Despite being told of his departure, Susan couldn’t rest easy and attempted to contact Jacob.
Every time the voice indicated his phone was turned off, she became concerned about his whereabouts.
After much deliberation, Susan summoned the confidence to approach Jacob’s mother.
They hadn’t communicated in years because she had never accepted her for her son.
Susan’s in-laws questioned her existence because she did not have a family.
But because Jacob loved her, he chose to defy their wishes and marry her.
Though he spoke with them, she hardly interacted with them.
But now since she needed to know if Jacob was okay, she resolved to confront her mother-in-law.
The ring went twice before the call was answered.
“So you finally remembered you have in-laws,” the lady on the phone mocked.
Martha maintained an orthodox worldview and adhered to her family traditions.
Though their family was not monetarily fortunate, Jacob proved to be the black sheep that lifted them out of their low-income situation.
Everything was going fine, until Susan came into his life and things began to sway.
Their family never approved love marriages, but with Susan it was even worse.
She was an orphan whom Jacob met during his college days.
They tried to keep him from falling into her trap, since she assumed Susan was only with him because he was successful and wanted his money.
However, he went against their wishes and married her permanently, going to the city while they survived on the money he sent them.
As the days passed, Jacob began to taste the water of success, which began to change their minds about Susan, as he often stated that she was the one who encouraged and supported him.
But her beliefs were confirmed when she lost everything he had built, and Susan was the one who damaged it even more.
Susan took a long breath and opened her mouth to say, “I remember you, but this is not the time for you to taunt me about it.
I want to know where Jacob is and why his phone is turned off.” “What gibberish are you uttering?
How would I know where Jacob is?” Martha snapped because she thought Susan’s statements ludicrous.
Susan’s brow wrinkled.
“But he said he would meet you?
“Is he not there?” she murmured, her heart pounding with expectation.
“Either my kid lied to you, or you simply lost it.
It’s been years since he came here.
I’m wondering if he’s still alive or dying.
You both not only wasted your life, but also took our riches away.
Do you know how our elderly parents are surviving?” beep…
Susan didn’t wait to hear the lady’s drivel since she knew they’d be alright even without them providing for their old age.
But the true question was where was Jacob and why was he lying.
Susan was about to connect the dots when she was startled by the sound of a car entering the premises.
It took her a moment to gather her thoughts, and then she watched Eveline enter the house.
Eveline dashed to her as soon as their gazes met, but Susan’s words caught her by surprise.
“Young Miss, can I leave home?” she inquired.
Susan was now concerned about Jacob’s whereabouts, and she couldn’t help but suspect he was responsible for Jonathan’s injury.
The hate he harbored toward him was not veiled, and who knows whether hatred developed into veganism and he attempted to kill him.
“What happened Aunt Susan?
You seem concerned?” She asked out of concern.
Susan considered being public about her misgivings, but she chose to hold off for the time being and just partially divulge her issue.
“Young Miss, I’m attempting to phone my husband, who is supposed to be in his hometown with his parents.
But after repeatedly failing to reach him, I called his mother to inquire about him, and she stated he never arrived there.” Eveline’s brow furrowed upon hearing her words.
“How is that possible?” “I just saw your husband on Willow roads while coming home,” she began nonchalantly, but then reality hit her, and she grabbed Susan’s shoulder and asked, “But you said he was in his mother’s house, then how come I saw him there” Susan and Eveline exchanged deep looks before Eveline decided to investigate more.
“Aunt Susan, I need to hear everything,” she added, leaving no space for doubts, prompting Susan to swallow in response.
