Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 203
Chapter 203: What do you want to know?
Chapter 203: What do you want to know?
“So he left with a letter, that’s it?” Eveline inquired when Susan told her the whole truth.
“His phone has been turned off since then.
And Young, Miss, I believe I saw him at the hospital that day after your father’s accident.
But when I arrived home, he was already asleep.
How is that possible?” Susan was worked up, with all of the possibilities going through her head like a broken record.
She just couldn’t figure out what she was supposed to believe.
Jacob was supposed to be at his parents’ house, but Eveline reported she saw him on Willow Street.
How is this possible?
“What if he didn’t go anywhere and is hiding from us?” Eveline made a surprising announcement.
Susan felt the same way, but now the question was how they would find him.
“How can we confirm his location?
We don’t know exactly where he went from there,” Susan inquired, unsure.
Eveline paused for a while and murmured, “Wait for me,” before running into her room and returning with her laptop.
Susan watched Eveline intently as she worked on her laptop, supposed to be tracing something.
“Young Miss, when did you-” “Never tell Dad about this.
It’s a secret between us,” Eveline said with stoic face and she nodded skeptically.
Eveline concentrated on the screen and mumbled.
“His phone was on the day before yesterday, and that was an hour before we learned about Dad’s accident,” Eveline said, darting her attention to Susan, who was holding her breath in horror.
“After that, he never turned it on and I couldn’t track his device unless he turned it on again,” she explained with a sigh.
Eveline had started to believe Susan’s suspicions about her husband’s role in the disaster, but she couldn’t blame him until they found him.
The task was completed with the intention of leaving no trace of evidence; therefore, dragging him without solid proof was out of the question.
He can lie and accuse them of torturing him.
No, they cannot make any mistakes.
But how were they expected to get Jacob out of his hideout?
**** While Eveline and Susan were attempting to locate Jacob, the man was angry inside a shabby motel room because he had been ignored for two days in a row by the person who promised to help him.
After putting him down for the job, the person provided him the money and instructed him to hide for a few days until the situation around Jonathan’s accident settled down.
Jacob happily consented, but the money he received was being spent on his costs, and there was no indication of how long he would be hidden away from everyone.
“Ah, I should have asked for more money.
Follow new episodes on the "N0vel1st.c0m".
These few dollars aren’t working for me.
Everything is going to end soon,” he exclaimed in frustration.
Jacob’s fortune changed after he met this mystery guy.
Even though he lost the money when he started gambling again, he was still satisfied that as long as he continued to work for him, nothing would go wrong and he would continue to receive compensation for his work.
Jacob tried to relax himself while pacing around the room.
Even though he desperately wanted to call the person, he couldn’t risk turning on his phone as instructed.
But as time passed and his patience wore thin, Jacob dropped the warning and reached for his phone, which he swiftly turned on.
The first thing he saw when the screen brightened was Susan’s many calls.
He furrowed his brow, wondering why she was so frantic to phone him when she never did while he was at home.
Jacob was not in the mood to argue about whether or not he should call Susan, because the fact was that he did not want to talk to her.
So he skipped the entire number of missed calls and chose to call the person instead.
The ring lasted a few seconds before the call was answered.
“Hello..” ***** Jacob’s mood deteriorated as the call failed to connect and instead indicated that the number was invalid.
It was strange to see that the phone number he had been using for so long had suddenly become invalid, and he now had other options to contact them.
“How is this possible?
Damn!
What should I do?
I’m not even sure if I’m safe to roam freely or if this is my permanent refuge.” Jacob was battling with his thoughts about what had happened and how he was going to get out of this when a quick knock on the door shook him out and his heartbeat increased twice its normal speed.
His mind raced with thoughts about who might have come knocking on his door when no one knew he was staying here.
‘Should I go and check?’ he pondered, but decided against his doubts.
Jacob opened the door and pulled it open, only to discover that the ground beneath his feet was sliding away.
“S-Susan,” he said in a weak whisper when he saw his wife appear in front of him unexpectedly.
But it wasn’t simply her presence that energized him; it was who she came with that surprised him the most.
“We have a lot to talk about, uncle Jacob?” Eveline’s voice reverberated through his shallow thoughts, and he swallowed strong feelings that had suddenly surfaced.
**** Jacob was more than afraid as Susan and Eveline kept a close eye on him.
He couldn’t even flee because they threatened to contact the cops and have him arrested for lying to them previously about Tiffany’s case.
Everything looked smothered to him, and to make matters worse, his wife, and his enemy’s daughter were the ones threatening him.
“Are you going to speak by yourself, or should we hand you over to the police?
I’m sure they have various ways to make a criminal confess his crime.” Susan’s deadpan voice caught Jacob off guard, and he felt his throat dry.
“What do you want to know?” He inquired, “Everything,” Eveline replied, leaving him speechless with her piercing eyes.
