Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 207
Chapter 207: Confront him Chapter 207: Confront him After a brief peek, Jedrick looks aside, a smile on his face as he announces his arrival to the crowd.
However, neither of the men seated next to Eveline disregarded the momentary gaze.
Gabriel’s brow wrinkled as he noticed him staring directly at Eveline through the crowd.
“Did he just saw in our direction?” Stefan inquired, having also noticed it.
Gabriel felt an uncomfortable sensation in his heart about this man, and he feared leaving him alone for even a second.
If he is the man who attempted to assassinate Uncle Jonathan, he can do anything to harm Eveline.
“Alert our guards and ask them to keep an eye on people close to him,” Gabriel said.
Stefan suspected something was awry, but he listened to his friend’s words and swiftly alerted their guard.
As the event progressed, everyone was eager to meet with Jedrick.
Despite the fact that he kept his identity disguised, he was an influential person and investor.
It was claimed that there was no enterprise that failed under his protection.
He had this alchemy that could propel even failed businesses back to the top, which is what occurred with the Larsons.
Following a financial crisis and numerous unsuccessful ventures, the unexpected announcement of their new launch product stunned the corporate world.
Everyone wondered who would dare to board a sinking ship, but reports about the mysterious individual sparked everyone’s interest, and now that he was out in public, everyone rushed to meet him.
Eveline felt out of place because she didn’t know any of them, but she smiled and continued to talk to the individuals Mark introduced her to.
He made an effort to keep the introduction simple and stress-free for her.
But, more than seeing these folks, she wanted to meet the event’s star, Mr.
Jedrick Denovan.
But now that she looks around for him, he is nowhere to be seen.
“I’ll be right back,” Eveline excused herself, turning to face Gabriel and Stefan, who were busy speaking with the delegates.
She knew Gabriel had wanted her to be near to him, but she had other things in mind that needed her actions.
So she sneakily walked through the crowd and out of the event spot.
Since the party was inside the hotel, Eveline quickly made her way upstairs, passing by the guard who gave her a peering glance.
Something was wrong, but she ignored it and kept walking until she came across a figure standing alone on the floors open balcony.
Eveline’s brow wrinkled as she pulled out her phone and called a number.
It began to ring, and her eyes filled with wrath.
Her hold on the phone tightened as she watched the man scowl before answering the call.
“Hello,” he said, followed by a little stillness, before a soft voice tinged with hatred emerged.
“Where is Jedrick?” she asked, and the man eventually turned to look around and out the door, only to see a girl glaring at him with a cruel gaze that could not even burn a human.
The man swallowed, at a loss for words, and the next thing he knew, his feet moving towards her, saying, “This way” Eveline fixed her focus on the man and followed him silently to one of the suites.

Standing in front of the door, the man opened it and motioned her to enter.
Eveline was wary as she stared at the man who refused to look at her before carefully making her way inside.
It was a risky move to enter someone’s territory without knowing the individual completely, but her instincts assured her nothing would go wrong.
“What a delightful evening adorned with a graceful presence from you my dear Eveline” Eveline was distracted from her thoughts by a deep husky voice, and her gaze moved to the sitting area, where a man, possibly in his early fifties, sat on a cushion chair, one leg stretched over the other, his eyes amusingly adoring her.
Her brow wrinkled as her look returned to stoicism, and she proceeded forward before standing in front of him.
“You look beautiful, just like your mother,” he remarked exquisitely, gazing at her eternal beauty with his brooding eyes.
His look intimidated Eveline, but she refused to give in.
She was here to face him, and no matter how much he tried to ease the tension between them, she refused to back down.
“I am not here to hear you compliment me, but to ask why you tried to kill my father.” Eveine did not mince words and confronted him right away.
Jedrick chuckled at her bravery.
She appeared like a tigress about to pounce with her claws on him.
It reminded him so much of himself from his early years.
“Please take a seat.I can’t let you stand there and hurt your legs.” Eveline furrowed her brow as the man ignored her words and attempted to act nonchalant, irritating her even more.
When she didn’t move and stared at him, he gave her a sad look.
“I insist, please,” he urged, and this time she walked and took a seat in another chair.
“I understand you have many questions about me, but you are mistaken that I am the one who harmed your father,” Jedrick continued, savoring the sight of her enraged expression.
He was confident that the invitation he issued would reach her first and provide her with a brief overview of him.
But he never expected her to be so quick to find out what he was up to, especially with the help of that rat who ended up revealing everything.
“You hired someone to kill him, but you refuse to admit you are the one behind everything,” she said, her jaws gritted fiercely.
“See, even you agreed.
Since I hired someone, shouldn’t that individual be questioned instead of me?” “…” Eveline couldn’t believe this man could be so smart with his words that he shifted the entire burden onto Jacob.
“How could that be when you were the one who asked him to” was her response.
Jedrick chuckled, his eyes glisten playfully yet their was a glint of warning in them.
“That’s because I don’t do deals with people who are worth wasting time on.
Moreover I merely proposed him, but he was the one who accepted it.
Fair enough” Eveline couldn’t believe Jacob would be a pathetic kind of person who sold himself for money.
