Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 216
Chapter 216: May I Chapter 216: May I “Believe me.
I’m not lying.
I honestly don’t know who the individual was,” Jacob attempted to persuade.
He knew it was unbelievable, but it was the truth.
He had never seen that person and had only contacted him a few times before discovering the contact card with a message on it.
When Jonathan didn’t remain unfazed, Jacob remembered something and swiftly dug into his pocket, pulling out the card.
“Here, this is what I was given,” he replied, passing him the card, and Jonathan began to read it.
“A card with no name and only a contact number.
Interesting,” he said, flipping it around to reveal a message scribbled on it.
‘Contact me if you ever consider destroying Jonathan Miller.’ Jonathan’s eyebrows furrowed as he read those words.
“Bastard,” he cursed as his grasp on the card tightened, crushing it.
“It was a trap set for you Jacob, and what a surprise you fell into it,” Jonathan sneered, casting an angry stare at Jacob that caused him to lower his gaze.
“I know, and I apologize for everything,” he said.
Jonathan sighed.
He couldn’t believe Jacob, who was so intelligent, could become such a futile person as a result of his addiction.
“It’s hard for me to entirely trust you-” Jacob looked up at Jonathan with concern in his eyes.
“-but I can see you really need my support.
So, for the sake of our lost friendship, I may still offer you the position.
But there’s a condition.” Jonathan awaited as he watched Jacob’s optimistic expression.
“I am willing to do anything if it means you can all forgive me,” Jacob answered, soaking in Jonathan’s remarks.
Jonathan’s lips curled into a pleased smile as he spoke…
**** Back inside the resort’s hotel, Gracey considered sitting still without being too influenced by the fact that she and Daniel shared a room.
It was a refundable agreement she struck with him in exchange for his life, but was he telling the truth or was he looking forward to the verdict falling into his side?
As she continued to fidget, her thoughts became further entangled, filling her mind with silly things.
“Gracey, you need to control yourself.
Remember, you can’t fall for him,” she told herself, the mantra she kept repeating in her head every time Daniel did something that made her heart skip a beat.
She might pretend to be irritated, but the truth was that she had no idea how to deal with the sentiments that were fluttering in her heart.
She had always seen Daniel as a boy with a lot of questions brewing in his mind regarding life and what not, but now he’s a man making big moves on her.
But why?
What exactly does all of this mean?

Gracey had never struggled with her coursework, but understanding Daniel’s actions had made her mind spin.
Click Gracey was startled out of her thoughts when she heard the bathroom door open, and she turned to face Daniel.
‘Holy Moly,’ she thought as her lips parted to watch him walk out and take a bath.
His hair was moist and a few beads of water fell down his chiseled torso.
He wasn’t very macho, but rather a thin man in fantastic shape.
And then there was his exquisite V-shaped waistline, wrapped in a towel to hide his…
‘No, Gracey, don’t go there,’ she said to herself, embarrassed by how shamelessly she was staring at him.
“You can use the restroom now,” Daniel’s powerful voice shook her out of her perverted thoughts, and she hurriedly glanced away.
Gracey’s face flushed at the sight of his half-naked figure, but she sensed him approaching her.
Gracey gaped as Daniel got closer to her, till she propped on the bed, staring at him with wide eyes.
“W-what are you doing?” She stuttered, inhaling the pleasant scent of his lavender body wash.
Gracey was so smitten with his devilishly attractive beauty that she nearly forgot to breathe.
The proximity was too much for her weak heart, which was beating inside her chest and ready to jump out.
“I…” he said, reaching his hand towards her, causing her to recoil, and then going all the way around her hand to her back.
“…am taking my clothes,” he replied, and she rooted still, feeling as if someone had thrown a pail of cold water at her.
Daniel smirked, observing her at a loss for words, and quickly straightened up.
“What did you think I was going to do?” he said, breaking her out of her daze.
Gracey’s face had turned crimson from shame, but she was attempting to find an escape.
So she instantly stood up and dashed to the bathroom.
“Nothing!” she yelled, slamming shut the door.
THUD!
**** They soon gathered in the dining area to enjoy the magnificent and wonderful dinner.
“So, Daniel, what are your plans for tomorrow?
I mean, Gabriel and I have decided to explore the city, but Ella and Stefan will be enjoying the beach.
What is your and Gracey’s plan?” Daniel scowled in uncertainty since he didn’t understand Eveline’s remarks.
“You don’t know, even Gracey made a list of things she wanted to do on the trip,” Eveline explained, and Gracey lowered her gaze as Daniel looked at her.
“She did?” he inquired, and Eveline nodded.
“All right, Gracey.
Why not show him?
What if your ideas match?” Eveline smiled, casting a thoughtful gaze at Ella, who shook her head.
Since Eveline and Ella had already discussed Daniel’s aim to court Gracey, she revealed a few details about how he approached Stefan.
“Yes, it will be fun if you both team up together,” arrived from Ella.
Gabriel exchanged a glance with Stefan, who simply scoffs in response, before turning over Eveline and asking.
“Are you typing to pair them up?” He inquired, capturing her attention.
“Aren’t they already?” They’re sharing a room.
It won’t be a problem if they stick together,” she explained.
Gracey, who was dying of shame, turned to face Daniel, who had a goofy smile on his lips.
“May I?” he inquired, and she cautiously nodded.
