Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 218
Chapter 218: Someone was following us Chapter 218: Someone was following us Gabriel and Eveline finished their breakfast and set off to explore the city, beginning with a local market.
Eveline didn’t enjoy shopping, but visiting the creative location made her very happy.
Her eyes gazed around like a curious youngster eager to discover new things.
She remembered how her travels were limited after her marriage to Gabriel.
She felt most comfortable in her home, particularly in her room.
She wanted to go to Paris with Gabriel for their first anniversary, but he declined, citing a hectic schedule.
Gabriel used to devote the majority of his time to building his firm.
He was ruthless and one of the most competent businessmen you would not want to challenge.
However, while creating his empire, he forgot that he had a life to enjoy and a woman who was always waiting for him.
But now that was all in the past, and they were starting over.
She recognized the mistake was simply a result of their misunderstandings.
And now she was looking forward to every time they’d have together.
“Do you want to try them?” Gabriel’s voice interrupted her thoughts, and she grinned.
She’d been staring at the shell-shaped earring for quite some time, her thoughts traveling back to her past.
She nodded, and Gabriel instructed the shopkeeper to give them.
Eveline tried them, and they ended up enhancing her innate beauty.
She glanced into the tiny oval-shaped mirror and said, “They look beautiful.” A smile remained on her face as she continued to stare at her mirror.
Gabriel gestured to the store, and they ended up purchasing many of them.
They continued looking around, and Gabriel bought everything she saw.
It was amusing to watch him acting like her husband already, but it also filled her heart with admiration for the man who had always been compassionate to her, even when she was unpleasant to him.
“I think we need to take a break.
Is it getting heated in here?
Eveline waved, and Gabriel discovered a small juice business.
“Let’s drink something,” he suggested, and they quickly proceeded to buy some freshly extracted juice.
Eveline’s gaze searched the crowded market, but it was one particular thing or person that piqued her interest.
If she thinks about it, she’s been seeing him everywhere, almost as if he was following them.
“Do you like it?” Gabriel’s voice interrupted her stare, and she turned to face him.
“Hmm,” she hummed and glanced back in the direction, but the man was no longer present.
‘Where did he go?’ she wondered to herself.
They were tourists here and knew no one, so who was this individual who appeared odd to her?

“I’ll pay for the drink,” Gabriel said, standing up and going to the counter to clear the bills; by the time he returned, Eveline had left.
“Eve?” he mumbled.
Meanwhile, Eveline rushed in the direction she saw the person, but when she arrived, there was no one.
It seemed as if the man had caught her eye, prompting him to leave.
Eveline had no idea who that person was, but the fact that he left just as she informed him of her intentions caused a lot of questions in his head.
‘Was it one of Jedrick’s men?’ she wondered, but she quickly brushed it off, presuming why he would do so.
Eveline knew the man wouldn’t play hide and seek once she openly challenged him.
So the man who vanished in thin air was not one of his.
Gabriel, who had raced out after failing to find Eveline, gasped when he saw her approaching from the opposite direction.
“Eve” Eveline looked up from her torturing thoughts to find herself enveloped in a tight hug.
“Where the hell did you go?” Gabriel inquired, his voice wavering with the weight of his labored breathing.
Eveline was so preoccupied with the thought of someone tailing them that she forgot about Gabriel and hurried away.
Gabriel pulled back and cupped her face, leaving her perplexed by his reaction.
“He freaked out,” she explained.
“Oh, I went to that shop where they sell hand-made designed scarves,” Eveline said, pointing in the direction of the shop she had just seen on her way back.
Fortunately, she used it as an excuse to quell his anxiety, and he followed her attention to the business she had just pointed out.
“You could have waited for me.” Why go alone?
Do you like that?” he inquired, leaving her perplexed.
The anxiety had subsided, and he was back to being the shopping spree individual who was willing to buy anything for her.
“Yes, I do, but you’ve already got me so much,” she tried to deny, but it was too late as he sighed and dragged her into the shop.
**** When they returned to the resort, Gabriel had quite a few of bags in his hand, which he placed on the couch before turning to look at Eveline, who was now sprawled on the bed like a dead person.
He walked towards the bed, laughing at her sweetness, and sat next to her.
“I know it’s wasn’t just the shop that attracted you attention, it was something else” Eveline shifted her gaze to the side, skeptical of him, but wasn’t he the genius who had set a record for reading her mind?
“Fine, I did ran away because I thought someone was following us” she spewed.
Gabriel furrowed his brow and watched her sit up.
She took a long breath and muttered, “I saw a man who appeared questionable to me.
So I went to check, but he wasn’t there.” Gabriel’s bodyguards, who were following them in disguise, would have alerted him if they discovered anything unusual.
‘Could it be she misinterpreted one of my men towards the individual?’ “Since how long the person tailed us?” did he inquire.
“I think when we enter the market.
But the moment he knew I saw him, he fled away,” she added, as the frown on his face deepened.
‘Who must be the person following them?’ the thought kept them both busy as they searched for an explanation, but couldn’t find any NEW BOOK ALERT Marriage with my daughter’s father: Darling please be gentle
