Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 223
Chapter 223: I want to see her break Chapter 223: I want to see her break Susan gave Jonathan his morning tea and took a step back.
She was a distance away, her lips trembling to form a word as she fidgeted with her fingers.
“What is it, Susan?
Why do you appear so nervous?” Jonathan asked, glancing at Susan over the newspaper in his hand.
Susan flinched at his deep rusky voice and shook her head.
“I am not nervous Master.
In fact, I would like to ask you something,” she said, and he responded.
“Go on” “It is about Jacob,” she said, finally expressing her thoughts, and he stopped reading.
He folded the paper, placed it on the table, and picked up the cup.
“What about Jacob?” he inquired, taking a sip from the tea.
Susan looked down, unable to meet his gaze, and said, “You gave him a job and cleared his debt?
Why?” Jonathan leaned back and looked at Susan thoughtfully.
He was aware of what was going on in her mind, but she was too shy to express it.
“He begged me,” he said, and she looked up to him.
“He confessed his crime and begged my forgiveness.” Susan’s eyes flickered with confusion.
It was too good to be true that Jacob was truly regretting his previous actions, because he had been acting out of character since she had saved him from the debt collector.
Something she could not digest.
To exacerbate her concerns, he also disclosed his employment at Jonathan’s company.
“But how, after all that, can you forgive him so easily?” Susan was unable to finish because she realized she had suddenly become emotional.
But she simply could not accept that Jonathan would forgive him for his crime and give him a stable job in his company.
What if he is not a changed man?
What if he is still in the box of doubt?
Jonathan smiled, understanding her concerns, but he was not someone who would risk making a mistake.
“I saw through his sincerity, Susan, and if you can believe me, trust me, I saw a resemblance to old Jacob in him,” he said, leaving her stunned.
“I have an eye that can see through people’s intentions, and believe me, this time it is for real.” With a confident smile that made Susan feel less shocked, he said, “The old Jacob is slowly coming back.” Years had passed since Susan had last seen her loving and supportive husband. She had watched him develop, fall, and even experience the worst breakdown, but never once had she imagined that she would be able to reunite with the Jacob she had fallen in love with once everything was said and done.
He was a decent man who adored her unconditionally.
‘Can it be true?
Should I believe whatever he says? ‘ **** [Max’s workplace] Max had been trying to work for a while, but he could not get over the hickey he saw on Priscilla’s neck.
Priscilla is very particular about her appearance and would not allow anyone to leave a mark on her body, especially her neck, which attracts a lot of attention.
But the mark he saw in the morning never left his mind.

Max remembered that the night before, Priscilla was not in the mood and fell asleep much earlier.
It was unusual because she had never missed a sexual encounter with him, but last night was exceptional, and the next morning means that he notices a hickey on her neck that she attempted to conceal with foundation.
Max had been skeptical of Priscilla’s actions for quite some time.
First the messages, then the call that night, and now the bruise, everything added to his doubts about her.
“What exactly has Priscilla been up to?
“Is she trying to cheat on me?” he asked again.
Max had no idea why he was thinking that way, but the way Priscilla behaved led him to believe so.
Max, frustrated, leaned back and closed his eyes.
His thoughts were a complete mess.
First, they were always preoccupied with Ella’s thoughts whenever he sat ideally, or with doubts about Priscilla.
But there was a difference between them; Ella’s thoughts always left him feeling longing, whereas Priscilla’s were the opposite.
He has not actively participated in their sex in a long time because he only thinks of Priscilla as Ella while they are having sex.
“Argh….Why do things have to get so complicated?
It was not supposed to be this way.
I left Ella because she could not satisfy me, so why am I suddenly preoccupied with her thoughts?” Max exclaimed, feeling a strong desire to call Ella.
It had been a while since he had seen her, but with her thoughts swirling in his head, he could not resist the urge to speak with her.
Max took the phone out of his pocket and dialed her number, but it went straight to her voice mail.
He hung up with a frown on his face.
Ella would only transfer her calls to voicemail when she was on leave.
“Is she not going to work?
Or maybe she has fallen sick” he muttered, an unknown emotion consuming his rational thoughts.
“I should go check on her after work,” he explained.
Things have gotten extremely complicated for him.
Ella had moved on, but his heart could not accept it.
It reminded him of how their lives were when they were together, but she now had another man in her life who valued her and was not…
cheating on her.
**** When lunchtime arrived, Max decided to go to Priscilla, as they always ate out.
However, as soon as he steps out, he notices Priscilla entering the elevator and leaving.
“Where is she going?” He mumbled and quickly followed her by entering another lift.
Max trailed Priscilla until she arrived at the neighboring restaurant, keeping his movements covert to avoid being noticed.
Seeing her enter, Max scowled in bewilderment.
Although he was curious and stepped forward to peer through the glass door, it seemed odd that she was going alone rather than with him.
Then, a horrifying sight caught his attention: she was with a man, though he was unable to make out his face.
His fist balled up as anger surged through his heart.
However, before he could react, the guard outside said something.
“Mister, will you go inside or not?
Why do you keep standing here?” Max’s thoughts were interrupted by the man’s rudeness, but he realized he could not yell at him because people were waiting behind him to get inside.
He quickly withdrew after saying, “I am sorry,” but not before taking a quick look at the two individuals inside.
Meanwhile, inside, Priscilla glared at Jack, who dared to visit her workplace.
She had warned him not to approach her unless she came and found him.
But this shameless man decided to break her word for what?
Money.
Priscilla sneered and shoved the money at him, saying, “Dare not come here again or forget I will pay you a penny.” Had she not required the man, she would have spit in his face.
With an unabashed smile, Jack smelled the money before pocketing the amount.
“I can follow your instructions if you keep giving me money.” Priscilla gave him a stare that made him laugh even more.
“Close your mouth before I punch it black and blue,” she warned, as he gave her a dreamy look.
“You can strike it as hard as you like, but only with your lovely mouth.
God, Pris, how come you get so hot and bothered every day while sleeping with that lazy sheep?” Priscilla’s expression twisted as she heard him speak, but she remained silent.
If only Jack knew who she was thinking of when he rammed into her.
Jack smirked, intrigued by her silence.
“By the way, when should I begin with the plan?” he inquired, breaking her out of her trance, and she returned to her true self.
“We need to wait for her return but before that you need to know a few things about her current life” she said and Jack like an obedient student went on listening to her.
“Damn….this Ella has really good taste in men.
She is personally involved with the chairman’s son.
That is really impressive.” Priscilla sneered as Jack complimented Ella in front of her.
“It is pure luck on her side; she only deserves losers by her side.” “You mean Max,” Jack said, and she gave him a cold look.
Max was not a loser.
He was intelligent, handsome, but not as attractive as Stefan, and he was good in bed.
He was everything a woman could want in a man, but Ella had him, so she was craving Stefan even more.
Priscilla’s obsession with Ella was toxic, and it began long before she could remember.
“I can not see her happy, Jack.
I want to see her in tears.
It pleases me,” she said.
“But you have done it already.
You have Max, so why go behind Stefan?” Jack asked.
“Because that man gives her immense happiness, and I want to see her break.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS akshaya_vanne Thank you Maddy174 for the golden tickets NEW BOOK ALERT Marriage with my daughter’s father: Darling please be gentle
