“Why do you want to know?” Eveline rolled her eyes as she noticed a sparkle of jealousy in his eyes and said, “Because I want to know and scold him that he won’t do something absurd like that again.” “You want to risk his job?” He asked, and she laughed.

“What do you care when you didn’t think of it before hiring him for the task?” she responds with.

“Now tell me who it is.” She persists with firmness.

Gabriel tried to see through her seriousness, but she didn’t flinch, so he sighed.

“Fine, over there he is,” he remarked, pointing to the waiter, who was working from a distance.

Eveline hastily excused herself and approached the waiter, who had just turned to go after serving his visitor.

“Excuse me,” she said, and the man stopped and turned to look at her.

His eyes widened as he recalled who she was and fumbled.

“Y-yes how can I help you, ma’am?” Eveline noticed the difference in his demeanor and frowned.

‘He is not the one,’ she stated.

“I need to speak with you,” her tone became hostile as she continued to stare skeptically at the man, causing him anxiety throughout.

She wanted to know whether there was any connection between him and the person she saw.

The waiter trembled and nodded, agreeing with her comments.

“Yeah, I was, but I couldn’t because I lost it,” he said, surprising Eveline.

“What do you mean?” She inquired.

The man was terrified by her interrogation and stuttering.

“Sir, you asked me to give you the note, but I misplaced it before I could get it to you.

I do not want to lose my job.” The man kept talking, but Eveline was too preoccupied with her thoughts to hear him.

The image from the previous day at the table came to memory, and her eyes widened with awareness.

But make sure your sir isn’t aware of our discussion.

Now go and do your work.” Eveline politely warned the man, and he rushed away.

When Eveline returned, Gabriel was already on his feet looking for her.

“Where did you go?” he said, staring at how she had vanished with the waiter.

Eveline pursed her lips and led him back to his seat.

“I went to the restroom,” she lied.

Eveline couldn’t let Gabriel in on what was going through her head until she figured out why the person was attempting to contact her.

Finally, her anxieties began to appear.

This vacation did have a purpose, and she was now determined to discover what it was after she read a hidden message in that note.

Gabriel squinted his eyes, looking for any deceit in her remarks, but before he could ask, she thrust the bread into his mouth.

“Now don’t keep looking at him and eat before we get late to join the rest.” Today, they intended to go camping because Daniel had urged that everyone go in groups and have fun.

They quickly finished their breakfast and returned to prepare to leave.

Gabriel stared at Eveline, who grinned awkwardly.

“We were having breakfast,” she continued, gazing at everyone.

“Does eating breakfast take that long?

Were you truly eating breakfast or breaking rocks?” Stefan’s statements caused Gabriel to smirk.

“No one is laughing at your lame jokes,” Gabriel said, scoffing.

“You should ask this monkey who was getting restless for god knows how long and now see, he is nowhere to be seen when you are finally here.” Stefan referred to Daniel.

Eveline took advantage of the opportunity to slip away and join the girls as they continued to chat.

“Thank God you’re finally here.

“Our cars will arrive soon,” Gracey added.

She looked better than she had the day before, assuring them that she and Daniel were OK.

While Eveline and Gracey were excited about the camping trip, Ella’s thoughts were scattered.

She had attempted to keep her mind free of distractions, but they kept popping up every now and then.

Yesterday, she received a notification from Max number, and when she pushed the button, a voice call was played.

‘Hello, Ella.

Where are you?

I really want to see you…

Are you doing well?’ Ella was astonished to hear Max’s slurring speech, which clearly suggested that he was intoxicated and contacting her.

But why would he ask where she was?

 ‘Did he go to her house again and call her after he saw there was no one home?’ He would not have done so, but how would he have known that she was not present when he chose to leave a voicemail?
