While everything was conspiring, one set of eyes remained fixed on the scenario.They were keen and brooding as they realized how terrible the situation had become.

‘I had to meet her or else this day will never come again,’ the man told himself, as he looked around anxiously.

With so much protection, it was already difficult to communicate with Eveline, but if he comes up with a good idea to distract everyone, he could finally be able to acquire what he came here for.

The man retreated away from the pair next to him, who appeared to be squabbling ready to execute his idea that he seemed to be confident about.

Back at the couple, Eveline had a fuss over Gabriel’s insistence on accompanying her to the ladies lavatory.

“Seriously, Gabriel, is this how you will be?

Are you going to follow me everywhere?” She asked, frustrated.

Gabriel felt he was being too much, but he couldn’t let her slip out of his grasp.

He only wanted to make sure she was secure.

“I do not intend to do that.

But I am deeply concerned about your safety, Eveline.

And don’t bother much, for I won’t come inside but will stand outside waiting for you.” “What about the eyes that will be watching you while doing that?

No way I’m going to let you embarrass yourself like that,” she says, knowing how perilous it would be to follow out her plan.

Gabriel frowned at her silly comments, but she didn’t seem bothered and took her hand away from his grip.

“I’ll be going alone, and that’s final,” she announced, leaving little room for disagreement, and turned on her heels, heading for the restroom, when an alarm went out, shocking everyone within.

Gabriel lost sight of Eveline for a brief while, sending him into a state of panic about her whereabouts.

**** Eveline was dragged by someone while she heard the panicked voices of others they pushed by.

The fire alarm kept ringing causing a huge commotion inside the gallery and so in the hearts of the people who ran like crazy to save themselves away.

While everything was happening all she could do was to see the man clutching her hand, and without saying anything, she let him draw her along until they were no longer within the museum, but rather in a lonely area outside.

He swiftly released her hand and turned to face her.

Eveline held her breath as the man finally revealed his face, leaving her bewildered.

“We do not have enough time.

Your partner would come looking for us,” he said softly, gazing around before laying his gaze on her.

His previous dread had been replaced by adoration.

His eyes softened, and so did his aura, as a tiny smile formed on his lips, and he mumbled.

“You are just like her” Eveline’s brows furrowed as she heard his voice, and she blinked confusingly.

“Like who?” She inquired, her emotions conflicted.

“Like you, mother.

Like my-.” “Sister?” She finished, leaving the man puzzled by her statements.

“H-How did you-” he stuttered, gazing at Eveline, which reminded her of her conversation with Susan earlier that day when she asked her about her parents.

I do not know much about your father, but I do recall your mother telling me that she missed her family, particularly her beloved brother.

She wish she would get a chance to meet him once  Eveline’s eyes twitched as she looked at the man, who was none other than her Uncle.

There was no way she could be wrong.

Her heart was confident, therefore she was too.

“Why would you stalk me and not confront right away?” Eveline queried, jerking him out of his thoughts, and he blinked his eyes, concealing his emotions and looking up to her.

“Because I don’t want anyone to know about it,” he continued, prompting her to recall his earlier statements.

“Why did you say my father shouldn’t know about it?

What does that mean?” Eveline continued to interrogate him, hoping he would come to tell her what was on his mind.

She was now certain that this individual was not a threat to her, but that didn’t mean she was going to lower her guard.

Recently, there have been other incidents that have aroused concerns about her father’s motives, beginning with Jedrick and continuing with this man whose name she does not know.

But, as her mother’s brother, she expects him to be truthful with her.

The man on the other hand appeared doubtful when she spoke about her father, but he couldn’t decide whether she would trust him.

“Tell me or I’ll think you’re wasting my time,” Eveline insisted, demanding an explanation for his previous statements.

Eveline was aware that Jonathan was keeping many secrets from her, and she feared that as she revealed these secrets, her thoughts would be in shambles.

Her eyes remained fixed on him, hoping to see the guards fall.

“Fine, I’ll leave and make sure you won’t follow me or else this time I spare you but it would be the same the next time.” Eveline turned to leave, but his words stopped her.

“Because your father won’t like us to meet you!” He yelled, and she turned to stare at him in amazement.

“Why would he?” Eveline asked, moving closer to him.

She demanded an answer.

“Why wouldn’t he want me to know about you?” she repeated.

“Because he thinks we will expose you to the truth, which he has tried to conceal from you,” he continued, leaving her stunned.

Her face distorted with conflict, and her heart raced in expectation.

Eveline was on the verge of answering when heavy footsteps surprised her, and before she could respond, the bodyguards raced towards her uncle and pushed him down on the ground.

“Don’t let him go,” Gabriel’s deep voice drew Eveline’s attention, and the next thing she knew, her hand was securely grabbed and she was being dragged another instant.

“Gabriel, let me go,” she said, glancing at the man who was being led away by the guards.

“Enough, Eveline.

You dare to risk your life.” Gabriel ignored her and continued dragging her until she shrieked, at which point his feet came to a complete stop.
