Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 231
Chapter 231: Your mother was killed Chapter 231: Your mother was killed [Hotel VIP Room]Â Gabriel stared at the man who had settled into the chair across the table.
He was still doubtful, but he couldn’t bring himself to speak anything because he knew Eveline would be upset with him as she continued to stare at him from the side.
“You knew it all along that I was going to meet him and you purposely made up this sudden visit to the gallery to catch him?” Eveline inquired, grabbing Gabriel’s attention, and he nodded, concealing nothing from her.
“You left me with no choice but to monitor you,” Gabriel said, expressing his disgust with Eveline’s attempts to keep things from him despite knowing how concerned he was about her.
Something sparked in his mind that day at the breakfast table, when she asked about the waiter he employed.
However, he kept it hidden since he was curious about Eveline’s plans.
After she lied to him right in front of him, his attention rose, and he questioned the waiter, who informed him that he couldn’t do his duty since he had misplaced the note.
Everything began to spin in his thoughts, and the first thing he did was look for the note, but he couldn’t find it because Eveline had hidden it away.
Gabriel viewed the cameras but was unable to see the person’s face. However, one thing stuck out: the person attempting to approach Eveline was a skilled individual who managed to enter the heavily guarded resort, steal the note from under their nose, and send his message to the destination.
“And you, Mister.
How can we trust you that you are not lying about your identity?” Gabriel turned to face the man, who appeared unconcerned as the words were thrown at him.
“I have no reason to hide my identity because I know I am not someone who would want to harm her,” Kaden told me.
Kaden Willow was not an ordinary man; he was an undercover spy working on a critical mission.
However, he never imagined that he would see someone he believed he would never see again.
But God had other plans, and here he was, seeing his niece for the first time.
Gabriel examined the man, looking for any signs of dishonesty, but his undisturbed expression convinced him.
“Uncle!
That’s what I should call you, correct?” Eveline remarked that she had Kaden’s attention and inquired.
“Why now, after all these years, you come to find me begging me to meet you?” Eveline was tired of the distraction that was delaying her purpose with the man who was meant to be her uncle.
But she had reached her limit and needed answers as quickly as possible.
Kaden looked at Eveline, who was now looking at him coldly.
He could see where that fierce nature came from, but he chose to put his admiration aside and speak to her instead.
“I received information about your visit to this city where I was hired for a mission.” Eveline’s expression distorted as she heard him speak about the work mission, and she couldn’t help but repeat it.
“Mission?” “Yes, I am an undercover agent who is looking for some leads for the biggest underworld organization that are running in different countries and this city happens to be my leading place.” Eveline and Gabriel exchange glances, dumbfounded by what they had heard him say.
“Undercover agent?” “Forget I told you that.
Let’s get back to what you wanted to know now that my identity has been revealed,” Kaden stated, glancing back at them.
Eveline was taken aback, but she quickly returned to her serious self and inquired, “Why would my father stop you all from meeting me?
I hope you’re not trying to twist things to cause misunderstandings between us.” “You think I’m capable of doing it after all these years?” Kaden scoffed, finding Eveline’s statements both disrespectful and amusing.
“Your father never allowed us, so how do you know me?” he asked, this time with bitterness in his tone.
He was gentle, yet his words pricked her like thorns, as if it had been her fault all along.

“I am not here; you talk ill about my father.” Eveline snaps.
“Eve” Gabriel, noting the rising fever, quickly touched Eveline’s back, as if she were a cat he was coaxing.
“Calm down,” he muttered.
Eveline despised it when people condemned her father without even knowing what kind of person he was.
“Okay, I won’t speak ill of your father, but first tell me if there is any reason for me not to despise him after he prevented us from meeting my sister and refused to let her see her at the time of her death.” Kaden lost his cool, his voice slightly elevated and wavering.
He felt every nerve in his body pulsing at the thought of his late sister Erna, who died but neither he nor his parents were permitted to see her for the final time.
This time Eveline believed his claim was correct.
Jonathan would not have stopped her family from saying their final goodbyes to their daughter.
Nonetheless, she decided to speak in her defense.
“He must have had his reasons,” she added, and Kaden laughed wildly.
“Really, now you will defend him?” he inquired, forcing Eveline to purse her lips in humiliation.
“Mister, I think there is a misunderstanding here because we never knew Uncle Erna had a family.” Gabriel attempted to explain, but Kaden did not let him finish.
“That’s because she was forced to cut ties with us, which is why you all never came to learn about us,” he said with a smirk.
“You father, he took my sister away and even concealed her death from us,” Kaden’s comments drew Eveline in.
“Your father is a self obsessed person who didn’t even dare to give just to his wife’s death and let it remain a mystery.” Eveline was impressed by those recollections, and despite her hesitation, she summoned the confidence to ask.
“How did my mother die?” Gabriel and Kaden both gaze at Eveline with amazement.
They were both horrified to hear her inquire about her mother’s death.
It was then that Kaden realized Eveline had no idea how his sister had been killed, and despite his best efforts to bury the memory, he mustered the fortitude to eventually tell his niece the truth.
“Your mother was killed,” Eveline felt as soon as Kaden’s words left his mouth that everything around her fell silent.
