Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 234
Chapter 234: I doubt he was a novice Chapter 234: I doubt he was a novice “Young Miss, you didn’t inform about your early return.” Susan, who saw Eveline enter the house, accelerated to her side.
Eveline smiled slightly.
“I thought about surprising Aunt Susan,” she remarked, looking around.
“Where is dad?” she asked.
“He’s in his study room, busy with some meetings,” Susan replied.
“Should I inform him?” she inquired.
Eveline declined right away, stunning Susan with her swift response.
“Do not bother.
I’ll see him soon; he’s finished with his work,” she added, turning to go to her room.
Susan was astonished to see Eveline so bland that she questioned if the vacation wasn’t thrilling enough; otherwise, she wouldn’t have bothered to return two days earlier.
Eveline came to a halt in front of her room’s door, gripping the knob, while her gaze shifted to the study area.
She wanted to meet Jonathan, but she realized it wasn’t the ideal moment because her feelings were all over the place.
She trusted her father and continued to believe him despite what Kaden threw at her.
She lowered her gaze and opened the door, walking inside.
She quickly changed, opened her laptop, and began gathering information about Kaden.
She was confident, but she wanted to double-check whether the man was actually sincere with her or simply acting.
But it turned out that he was in a prestigious position with the military.
“But what about the underworld organization he was working on?” she whispered, quickly delving into the specifics of his recent expedition.
Kaden had been able to disclose many unlawful actions conducte various underworld organizations.
In his latest mission, he freed several children and women from human trafficking in Country L.
His status as a covert agent was known, but his abilities kept him out of the spotlight, and he was able to perform flawlessly while disguised.
“I wonder if we’ll ever cross paths again because the number she tried to reach was now invalid,” she muttered as she closed the laptop and slumped onto the bed.
Eveline’s heart was conflicted as she stared up at the ceiling.
Everything Kaden said was swirling in her mind like a spider web.
She couldn’t deny that Kaden was her uncle, but his animosity for her father was a major question that she couldn’t get answered.
Eveline couldn’t deny that Kaden despised her father since, according to him, Jonathan stole his sister away; however, what about their parents?
Why wouldn’t they try to find their daughter?
Because, as far as she knows, her father built his firm from scratch, whereas the Kadens were already affluent.
‘Where do they oppose their marriage?’ Eveline wondered since it was the only reason she could pursue it.
“Maybe Dad didn’t treat them equally, which is why they oppose their relationship.

“This could be the reason.” Eveline felt as if her mind would explode at any minute, so she resolved to block her thoughts for a while.
Closing her eyes, she began counting 1-100, and to her amazement, it worked brilliantly for her as she fell asleep slowly.
When Eveline awoke, she was already in Gabriel’s arms.
“Wake up, Eve.
You haven’t eaten your meal yet,” Gabriel said, kissing her cheek as she slowly opened her eyes.
Eveline smiled, but then something snapped in her thoughts and she jolted awake.
“How did you find I haven’t had dinner yet?” She asked for help propping herself up, only to discover that a food tray was cold on the side table.
“How did it get inside.
I’ve locked my door,” she said, glancing at the door and then back at Gabriel, who had most likely jumped through the window.
So how come the food was lying on the table?
“Aunt Susan came and kept it here.” “…” Eveline was now like a robot, forcing herself up to sit and staring at him blankly.
“What did you say?
Aunt Susan came here to keep the food.” she said, and he nodded before sitting up facing her.
Gabriel turned to pick up the tray and lay it between them.
He then scooped some soup into the spoon and brought it up to her lips.
“I’m not that hot, but you can still drink it,” he added, waiting for Eveline to open her mouth and enjoy the taste of the food.
“You are aware that we have been apprehended, correct?
You stated that Aunt Susan came here, implying that she is aware of you and us.
How can you remain so calm?
“I’m freaking out.” Eveline felt as if the world had fallen apart now that their little secret had been revealed to Susan, and her father, along with everyone else, would soon learn about it.
How was she going to face everyone?
Gabriel gave her a hard look, not understanding why she was panicking.
She should’ve known that someone would find out about it eventually.
“Then I guess you should stop freaking out, because she won’t tell anyone anything, including your father,” he remarked, leaving Eveline stunned.
“Did she say that?” she inquired doubtfully.
“No, I told her that,” he amended, leaving Eveline stunned.
Eveline couldn’t believe Gabriel was so calm, as she died in shame, wondering how she would face Susan after tonight.
She was a mother figure, and discovering her daughter with a man in her room was distressing.
“Now stop thinking so much.
You’ll be OK when you see her again.” Eveline gave him a sneer as he continued to read her mind as if it were some new channel telecasting some news.
“It’s entirely my fault.
I should not have asked you to come.” Eveline scoffed as she sipped from the soup.
“As if I wouldn’t come even if you hadn’t invited me.
You know it’s my routine now, and I just stopped because you had documents,” he replied, and she continued to eat calmly while he fed her.
Gabriel finished and returned the tray to the side table before turning to face Eveline.
“Now tell me how much information you were able to extract regarding Kaden and his family?” Gabriel inquired, his tone serious and forceful.
Eveline stared at him and then sat correctly with her back leaned against the backrest while her eyes fixated on him and stated, “AAs much as you know.” “Great,” Gabriel murmured, joining her.
“I’ve already asked Stefan to look into the hospital where your mother was said to be treated, and he’s working on it.” Eveline nodded, then leaned on his shoulder.
“What else do you think my dad is hiding?” she inquired, staring up at him.
He pondered for a few seconds before saying, “Everything.
I doubt he was a novice who started his profession from scratch; in fact, his family was one of the most prominent, and this was in the underground.” Eveline was taken aback by this revelation and was unable to conclude her thoughts.
