Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 249
Chapter 249: I have something to tell you Chapter 249: I have something to tell you “You really aren’t going to tell me what you and mom were talking about?” Stefan asked as he took the driver’s seat and buckled his seatbelt.
His eyes followed Ella from the side, hoping for an answer.
Stefan was late for work, and when he didn’t see Ella on her desk, he went seeking for her, only to discover that she was in his father’s office with his mother.
The surprising news made him rush on his heels, ready to barge into the cabin uninvited and interrupting their talk.
Stefan twisted his words, telling his mother that he came seeking for her as soon as he learned she was in the office, but seeing her with Ella alone made him wonder.
“I told it’s nothing that you need to concern” Ella reiterated the same words as previously, and Stefan eventually stopped up asking.
“Well, if you don’t want to tell, then I’ll assume everything was well between you two.
In fact, you both appear normal to me, except for her astonished expression, which I couldn’t get out of my mind.” Ella continued to be quiet.
It wasn’t a serious chat she had with Nancy, but the way she was trying to recollect her emotions felt strange.
She didn’t know where the conversation was going at first, but now that she thinks about it, she feels like she spoke a lot more than she should.
‘Is she wary of me now?’ Ella could not help but wonder.
But if she was, she would have been as open as she had always been.
Stefan stole looks from Ella on the somber trip to the restaurant.
“Did she asked you anything about my girlfriend?” Stefan queried, interrupting her stupor, and she responded skeptically.
“Also, regarding my relationship with Eveline.
When I told her she was like a sister to me, you know what she said in response?” and he nodded in curiosity.
“She said then I would be your sister too since you consider Eveline one” Stefan abruptly applied the brakes, halting his car just before the traffic light and snapping at Ella.
“You are not my sister.” He yelled, angered by his mother’s statements.
“Jesus, things are getting serious now.
Dove, I swear, if she comes up with binding our relationship as siblings, I’ll jump off the cliff.” “Stefan!” She yelled at the unexpected stop, her heart nearly flip-flopping from the jolt.
Stefan, on the other hand, was shocked by what he had heard.
That was why she remained mute throughout, knowing he would panic out if she spilled the beans.
“For God’s sake, at least hear me out completely,” Ella slapped his arm, still attempting to calm her screaming jitters as she watched him give her a puzzled expression.
“Is there anything else she said about?
Fine, tell me everything.
Today I’m going to address her.
She can bind us into any relationship other than being lovers.” Stefan said that he was willing to listen to her now that he was ready to wage war on his mother over her sibling’s statement.
“She said she joking!” Ella snapped, putting an end to his anxieties.
The corner of his mouth twitched as he struggled not to smile.
The signal went green, and he began to drive.

“So that was a joke.
What a relief.” Stefan exhaled, rubbing his heart, relieved that his worst dread had been alleviated.
“But Stefan she said the girl whom you would love would be unlucky” Stefan raised his head in Ella’s way, only to see her shrug.
“And now that she has warned me, I think I should think about it,” she grinned, noticing the pale expression on his face.
“Don’t even contemplate it.
She’s simply fooling around.
The girl I marry will be the luckiest.” “I don’t think so,” she shrugged, and Stefan realized how much she was fooling with him.
“Let me take you home and I will let you think properly.” Stefan cautioned and increased the speed of his car, quickly arriving at the restaurant.
“Oh, I forgot to tell you that I met Priscilla today.
She was with some guy.” The moment he spoke Priscilla’s name, her countenance became severe, and she gazed at him inquisitively.
Stefan was taken aback by her lethal expression, which he hastily tried to explain in his defense.
“I mean, t-to say, I just saw her pass by with a guy who wasn’t Max,” he tried to explain in a more clear way, which helped to lessen the tension.
Ella furrowed her brow and stared skeptically at Stefan before slowly exiting the car.
“I wonder who the guy was with her.
I didn’t see his face, though.” Stefan continued to ramble on, but Ella was plunged into a deep quagmire of ideas that made her heart clench in horror.
‘No, that cannot be correct.
Ella attempted to chant, calming her anxious mind as they made their way into the restaurant and into the secluded seat.
Stefan stepped ahead and swiftly drew a chair for Ella like a gentleman, but she remained to stare at the table without moving.
“Dove?” His voice jolted her out of his reverie, and she stared at him in a fog before attempting a smile and taking her seat.
Stefan proceeded to the other side and sat on the chair once she had taken a seat.
“What are you thinking?” he inquired, and she glanced at him anxiously.
“Stefan, I have something to tell you,” Ella remarked abruptly, causing Stefan to crease.
“Yes, go ahead,” he said.
Ella wanted to come clean to Stefan since she didn’t know what Priscilla would say now that she had insulted them.
She had to tell him about her past with Jack, which left her shaken, before something unexpected happened to them.
She took a deep breath, attempted to calm her heart, and looked forward to speak something when the waiter interrupted her unexpectedly.
“Hello, Sir.
Hello, ma’am.
May I have your order, please,” the man remarked, startling Ella, who swallowed anxiously.
“Yes,” Stefan responded to the man and placed the order.
Ella was becoming restless, but seeing Stefan’s cheerful expression, she wondered if it was the perfect time for her to reveal everything.
‘Maybe once we get home, I can talk to him,’ she comprehended the difficult position and decided not to say anything until they got home.
Until then, she wanted to spend some tranquil time with him.
**** [Miller Mansion] Eveline was waiting for her father, who was running late, but she chose to be patient.
She knew he’d be distressed because of what was going on at the company, but knowing Jonathan never cared for his health when it came to his family and business made her concerned.
As she continued to sit, the sound of a car entering the premises jolted her out of her reverie and soon after she saw her father stepping inside the house.
“Princess, why aren’t you asleep?” Jonathan was surprised to see Eveline in the living hall.
“I was waiting for you dad.
Aunt Susan told me you rush to the company due to some emergency.” She said walking towards him and help him with the steps since he was using a stick to walk.
Jonathan looked at his daughter lovingly and smiled as they slowly made their way upstairs.
“So I guess you must be familiar with what occured today since it’s already spreading like a wildfire in the economic field” he asked and she nodded.
“Indeed which is why I just couldn’t let you ignore yourself due to the crisis.
I want to make sure you don’t over stress yourself” she helped him inside the room and watched him take the seat on the couch.
“Come sit here” Jonathan said holding her hand and made her sit next to him.
“My lovely daughter.
Why am I so lucky to have you.” He said suddenly feeling overwhelmed with the emotions that felt entirely new to him.
It was a reminder that how lucky he had been to be bless with a daughter like her.
Suddenly a heavy feeling crawl into his eyes freezing the smile on his face.
“Dad, did you find the person who stole your design or do you need some help” Eveline was upfront leaving Jonathan surprise but soon he declined.
“I have someone looking into this matter.
Soon we will get hold of the culprit” he assured.
Eveline didn’t dwell much as she knew her father would sit still and let some hinder his name.
But still she would be open to help him anytime.
“Okay, I think you should get change and eat something.
Just because I allow you to work that doesn’t mean you will continue to waste your resting hours” Eveline said getting up from the couch.
Since Susan had already left, she asked about maid to bring Jonathan dinner, while he went inside the bathroom and got freshen up.
Once she made sure Jonathan had eaten well did she bid him goodnight and walked out of his room.
As soon as she made her way inside her room, a pair of hands wrapped around her and carried her to bed.
Eveline smile recognising the person and watched herself being laid on the bed.
Just when Gabriel was about to hover her, Jonathan’s voice startled them out and they both shot their wide eyes towards the door.
