Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 250
Chapter 250: What are you doing in my daughter’s cupboard?
Chapter 250: What are you doing in my daughter’s cupboard?
“Shit, Gabriel hide…” Eveline yanked Gabriel away and climbed down the bed after hearing Jonathan request her to open the door.
Dread seized her heart, and she grabbed Gabriel’s arm and began rushing across the room, looking for a better spot for him to hide.
“Go under the bed,” she suggested, gazing down, but then declined.
“No, not the bed; maybe my cupboard; it’s safer,” she whispered as she dragged him to the tall closet but stopped again.
“No, how will you breathe?
Never, I will not let you die over me,” she said again.
Gabriel saw her discreetly drag him like a heavy suitcase she intended to stash someplace inside her chamber.
As the sound of knocks grew and Jonathan’s concerned voice emerged from outside, Eveline grabbed Gabriel’s arm and shoved him inside the cupboard without hesitation.
“Don’t come out unless I tell you, and please don’t die, okay,” she murmured, leaning against the nearby door before turning and running to open her chamber door.
“Dad?’ Eveline yawned, her eyes sleepily gazing at Jonathan as she proceeded to inquire.
“Why are you here?” “Shouldn’t you sleep?” She asked.
It had only been a short while since she had left his room and gone to hers, but now he was standing outside her door, frightened.
“Eve, princess, are you alright?
I heard a sound coming from your room.” He inquired, ignoring the act of sleepiness she put in front of him as a shield from hiding things from him as he pushed aside and barged into the room, stunned.
The sound of his wooden stick echoed across the room, terrifying her.
Eveline panicked as she followed him, and Jonathan continued to check her room like a detective.
“Dad, there was no one.
I was sleeping,” she tried to say, but her father became deaf to her words as his gawk-like eye gazed around.
Once he was certain, he turned to look at his daughter.
His eyes squinted at her paleness, and he inquired.
“My ears cannot feign to me, sweety.” Jonathan would have gone had he heard someone’s footsteps, but when he heard the sound coming from within, his instincts kicked in.
After all these days, he assumed Eveline had formed a habit of going to bed early, which he didn’t mind upsetting, but it turned out to be a strange habit that piqued his curiosity tonight.
Eveline’s lips twitched as she attempted a smile.
“Dad, it was I who got out of bed after hearing your voice,” she lied, hoping that for once her father would cease scaring her.
Jonathan looked at her for a few seconds, taking in her solid smile before nodding.
“Okay, I’ll believe if you say so,” he responded, putting Eveline’s concerns to rest as he walked closer to her.
He caressed her head and murmured, “Now, go back to sleep and close the window.
It is getting cold outside.” Eveline smiled, and Jonathan turned to walk away.

He had just reached the door and was about to step outside when he heard sneezing.
Aachoo!
Jonathan shot his head in the direction of the cabinet, followed by another sneeze, and the door flung open, revealing Gabriel sneezing profusely.
Eveline:”…” Jonathan:”…” Gabriel forgot he had to stay inside until Eveline alerted him, but he couldn’t follow the plan since he kept sneezing inside after one of her clothes rubbed against his delicate nose.
“Gabriel Winston, what are you doing in my daughter’s cupboard?” It was then that he realized something, and his sneeze flew away, leaving his body frozen like a statue.
Gabriel carefully shifted his sight to Jonathan, who was now staring at him like a teacher who had caught a student lying.
“Care to explain?” he asked, glancing at the two, one hand holding the stick and the other on his waist.
**** Eveline and Gabriel exchanged glances before looking to Jonathan, who sat with a stern expression, waiting for an explanation.
“Since when is this gentleman sneaking into your room?” He questioned, looking at his daughter, who felt like she was going to die of shame.
Eveline had no idea how long she had been twitching her fingers, but being caught lying red-handed by her father was another level of humiliation.
Gabriel noticed her fear and reached out to take her hand.
“It’s all my fault, uncle.
I should have told you instead of sneaking into her room every night.” Jonathan’s eyes widened in disbelief, and he repeated his comments.
“Every night,” he inquired.
“Yes, Uncle.” Gabriel was honest in his response to Jonathan’s query, whilst Eveline felt like digging a hole in the earth and hiding inside.
“Dad, it’s not like you think.
Gabriel came here every night, but it was because we couldn’t sleep and had to help each other fall asleep in our arms and-” “…” “Eve that too much of an explanation,” Gabriel instantly stopped her as he recognized what words she was spewing out in dread.
Jonathan couldn’t just look at his daughter in complete disbelief.
It took him some time to compose his thoughts before he let out a sigh.
“I understand that being adults makes it impossible to stay apart, but next time don’t sneak into her room through the window.
You’re not a thief who sneaks around like that.
You’re going to marry her soon.” Jonathan spoke as he stood to go.
Knowing how crazy Gabriel was for Eveline, he didn’t bother to debate much and simply gave them a nod.
“And don’t be terrified, princess, since I’ve already detected something like this going on.
The security outside alerted me that Gabriel was slipping into your room.
“…” This was quite embarrassing, and Eveline couldn’t help but hide her face from Jonathan.
Gabriel turned to face Eveline, who was still burying her face from utter embarrassment.
He reached out and moved her hands away from her face, only to notice that her cheeks turned red as a result.
“So, do you mind sleeping now?” His remarks prompted her to push him away.
“No!” she said, attempting to break away from him, but it was too late; he yanked her and she fell on him.
“There’s no exception, sweetie.
We have your father’s support now” he remarked, a sly smirk spreading across his face, leaving Eveline shocked.
