Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 251
Chapter 251: Another nightmare Chapter 251: Another nightmare “Okay, stop sulking and listen to me.
I didn’t intend to come out like that.
It’s only that I couldn’t control my sneeze.” Gabriel was now attempting to cajole his girl, who appeared distraught over how her father had caught them.
It wasn’t his fault, but he resolved to apologise and get even with her.
Eveline gave him a sideways glance.
His look appeared innocent, but she knew he was ecstatic that her father had finally allowed him to enter her chamber without having to climb the pipe again.
“Whatever, I’m still going to face him tomorrow.
Jesus, it’s so embarrassing to be discovered lying to your parents.
What must he be thinking?” Eveline couldn’t stop panicking.
She had always been a little cautious about public affection, but knowing Gabriel didn’t give a flying fuck, she realized she needed to get used to it soon.
Gabriel on the other hand sighed and brought her close to him.
” Look at me.
It’s not like we’ve done anything wrong.
Did you hear him?
We are going to marry, therefore everything is normal between the couple.
Even your father understands.
So please don’t consider anything strange, and let’s go to bed.” Gabriel was wanting to cuddle her, and when she noticed his miserable expression, she put her anxieties aside and nodded.
Gabriel carried her to bed, and they soon lay down in each other’s arms.
This was wonderful, being with her as if it were his universe.
“Gabriel, I have been wondering something,” Eveline said abruptly, capturing his attention, and he looked down at her.
“Tell me,” he asked, touching her soft hair and watching her take a long breath.
“Why would that man come for me?
Was he sent, or was he actually waiting for me?” she inquired.
When they couldn’t find the old man who gave Eveline the letter, she wondered if he was sent to do his job or if his intentions were actually pure.
Gabriel had a grim expression.
He, too, questioned the same thing, so he ordered one of his informants to dig into the stationary business and find out who had been there a few days before.
The update was yet to arrive, but he was convinced that the letter was not old and was newly written.
“Maybe he was hired by someone to give you the letter or else he wouldn’t have disappeared just like that” according to him.
Eveline closed her eyes and clutched him more tightly.
Gabriel reassured her, “Don’t worry, we’ll find everything soon.” and She nodded.

The night passed with them both finding peace in each other’s arms, and they eventually fell asleep, until Eveline awoke with a nightmare, gasping hard, scaring Gabriel out of his slumber as well.
“Eve, what happened?” he inquired, his gaze drawn to her sweat-soaked brow.
Eveline hadn’t had those nightmares in a long time, certainly not when in Gabriel’s hug.
However, this time it wasn’t the same dreams that had tortured her for days, but something new that had her thinking.
She had no idea why she would dream about her mother’s funeral, but the image of her father being frigid at the time piqued her interest.
She remembers how he did not shed a single tear till her mother was buried.
He remained aloof and uninterested, yet there was something peculiar about his behavior that piqued her curiosity.
“Eve?” She jumped out of her trance and stared at Gabriel with vacant eyes.
His heart raced because he wasn’t expecting those stares from him.
His gut churned weirdly, and his fingers shook on her shoulder.
“W-what is wrong? Did you experience another nightmare?” He inquired skeptically unsure if he himself sounded okay.
Eveline snapped out of her trance when she saw the little tremor in his voice and nodded.
“I did, but that’s nothing to worry about,” she lied, not wanting Gabriel to be worked up all night wondering what it was.
“Come, let’s sleep,” she whispered, wiping the beads of sweat from her forehead and lying down.
Gabriel glanced at her for a few seconds before lying down.
“Are you sure it’s not something I should worry about?” He asked her one more, and she nodded.
“Yes, it is not something we should be concerned about,” she replied, as he let go of his anxiety and drew her back into his arms.
“It’s okay, I’m here with you,” he murmured, kissing the crown of her head and closing his eyes.
Eveline took a deep breathe in, inhaling the richest scent of his perfume, and closed her eyes.
It was soothing to some point but not entirely.
She wasn’t sure if her thoughts were correct or not, but she couldn’t ignore them given how essential they could be on an emotional level.
**** [Max and Priscilla’s place] “Priscilla, please talk to me,” Max implored after she shut him out for the entire day yesterday, and even now, as soon as he awoke, she was leaving for work.
Priscilla recognized the desperation in his voice and smiled mentally.
She continued to ignore him, hastily preparing herself.
However, before she could depart, Max grabbed her hand.
“Priscilla, please, I beg you,” he pleaded, and she paused to gaze at his hand gripping her.
She looked up to see his weary expression and bulging eyes.
They were red from the tears that were about to pour from his eyes.
“Please,” he begged, and she decided to give him some time.
Yanking his hand away, she stood there with her hands crossed and her gaze directed away from him.
“What would you like to talk about, Max.
You got what you wanted by forcing yourself on me despite my resistance.
And now when I need some space, you come and violate it with your continual pleas.” Her tone was severe, breaking Max’s heart.
He realized he let his rage take over his senses and did something terrible without Priscilla’s permission.
Max might be a needy man, but he wouldn’t force himself unless the other party agreed.
And here it was Priscilla who had always been submissive to him then how come let he his anger took a toll on him leaving him in shame.
“If you’re here to apologize, Max, I don’t think I’ll be able to forget what you did,” she stated aloud, hurting his heart even more.
“And I don’t think we can continue like this because you constantly doubt me,” she remarked, and he shook his head in protest.
“Please, Priscilla.
I apologize.
I am not sure what happened to me, but please do not say anything like this.
I swear I will not do it again.
I won’t disbelieve you either.
Please forgive me.
I can’t live with this guilt.” Max shed his self-respect and hugged her, asking her not to abandon him.
If she does, he will be left with nothing and that was enough for her victory as she managed to get him wrapped around her finger like before making sure he wouldn’t come to cross the line with her.
