Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 253
Chapter 253: Everything is staged Chapter 253: Everything is staged “I still can’t believe Dad knew it all along and chose to ignore it.
Why?” Eveline couldn’t accept what had transpired inside.
She continues to complain about her father’s carelessness, unsure whether she should be pleased or saddened by it.
Gabriel couldn’t help but chuckle, but when she flashed him a frown, his smile froze and he coughed, turning elsewhere.
Eveline wanted to strike this man, but she couldn’t since she couldn’t send him to work with a swollen lip.
Eveline took a deep breath, cleared her mind, and sighed for the sixth time only to get interrupted by Gabriel’s phone ring, causing her eyes to open to gaze at him.
Gabriel’s expression turned serious when he answered Leon’s call.
“Yes, Leon,” he replied, his brow furrowing with each word he heard from his aide on the other end.
“Great.
Keep the paper ready.
We’ll get it signed this evening,” he added, ending the call.
“What happened?” Eveline asked, attracting Gabriel’s attention to her.
“A meeting with the chairman of the Willow Group has been scheduled for the evening.
They will be flying here this afternoon and are looking for a positive collaboration with Winston Group,” Gabriel revealed, surprising Eveline.
He only told her yesterday about Willow’s connection to the underworld and how to get them on board, so he decided to accept one of their proposals as a means of establishing contact with them.
And now he was alerting her of the ideal conclusion, as they had agreed to meet with him for the signing process.
“But what about Uncle Richard?
Wouldn’t he be upset about your decision to work with Willows?” she inquired.
“I sure by now he knows what I am upto and if he is still silent over it, then it means we need not worry.” Gabriel said, oblivious of why his father was so upset about the issue, and he was convinced that he would not challenge his decision in any way.
Eveline was contemplative, but she trusted Gabriel’s words.
If their parents had been willing to tell them everything, perhaps they wouldn’t have had to go against them.
They recognized how significant it was for them because everyone’s life was related to that single reality.
“I need to leave.
Oh, but first, there’s something I need to tell you,” Gabriel murmured, jolting her out of her reverie, and she glanced at him with anticipation.
“I requested someone to find the shop owner from where the letter was written, but the lady couldn’t recall because there were so many people there.
Furthermore, she is a lady in her 70s who barely recognises anyone,” he continued with a hint of regret in his tone.
Eveline knew there would be no positive consequence because the person who planned to write the letter had carefully considered their options before acting on them.
“We need to find another way to get through the truth behind the one sending because my handwriting inside matches Mom’s,” she declared, surprising Gabriel.
“How did you-” “Mom made a habit of penning notes to him while she was out helping him with his daily errands.
He still keeps them stored in his drawer.

I just got hold of one to match the handwriting, and bam, it came out to be identical.” Eveline was doubtful about who wrote the letter, so she double-checked it, and to her surprise, the handwriting matched her mother’s.
The enigma surrounding the letter became more difficult with each passing day.
They had confirmed her mother’s death, but Eveline came uncovered a letter written just a few days ago as part of their inquiry.
She may have agreed to have someone forge it, but it would be impossible to completely replicate the person.
There is always a distinction.
“Last night I awoke with a nightmare,” Eveline said, prompting Gabriel to glance at her skeptically.
“It was about my mother, a memory from when I was four,” she added, casting her serious stare at him.
Gabriel had no idea what she had seen, but the way she was sweating terrified him.
“Was it heartbreaking?” he questioned, reaching out to clasp her hand.
He was terrified, but he wanted to hear her out.
“I am not sure if it is a dream or my imagination, but my father never cried after my mother died,” she revealed, surprising Gabriel.
“What do you mean?” he said, and she chewed her lips, unsure how she was meant to express it to him.
Gabriel observed her uncertainty and instantly took her into his arms.
“Tell me what’s bothering you?” he urged, caressing her face with his right hand, waiting for her to relax and open up to his touch.
Eveline closed her eyes, resting against his gentle touch, and stared at him.
“I have a feeling that mom isn’t dead,” she said, leaving him still.
“Everything seemed to be stage to mislead everyone or should I say the person who planned the deadly attack on Mom and dad” Eveline could only come to this conclusion after a long, thought-provoking night.
She now questioned whether her mother was indeed dead, and if not, where was she?
**** Meanwhile, inside the house, Jonathan discovered the individual who had been stealing their work and selling it to their opponent party.
Mark discovered that Jedrick had installed a spy in his company disguised as one of the designers.
“Bastard, when is he going to stop playing petty games and fight me face to face?” Jonathan couldn’t stop cursing the man who had been pursuing his life for years.
Jonathan’s eyes softened as he watched the name of the individual flash on the screen of his phone.
He answered the phone right away and heard the person on the other end say something.
“How long would this last, Jonathan.
I can’t take it anymore,” the words were enough to destroy his heart as tears threatened to spill from his eyes and his voice gradually morphed into heart-wrenching sobs that silenced every thought in his thoughts.
