Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 256
Chapter 256: Someone is watching us Chapter 256: Someone is watching us A Rolls-Royce Phantom pulled up in front of the Blue-Ocean dining establishment, with Gabriel stepping out and tailed by Leon as they made their way inside.
He soon arrived in the VIP room, where he discovered many armed men and Roger, Mr.
Blake’s assistant, waiting for them.
Leon’s remarks immediately became clear to him, and he exchanged a significant look with his assistant.
“Good evening, Mr.
Winston; our boss is already waiting for you inside,” Roger remarked politely for Gabriel while Leon stayed outside with the rest.
Gabriel’s gaze flashed to the man in his 80s who was sitting at one of the designated tables and grinned at his arrival.
His wrinkled eyes gleamed, and the smile on his face appeared real, surprising Gabriel.
“You have grown into a fine man, Gabriel, just like your father, undefeatable and powerful,” Blake commented as Gabriel took the seat across from him.
“Do you know me, Mr.
Willow?
Because, as far as I know, I have never meant you before.
This is our first meeting,” he said, unsure how much this old man knew about him and his family.
“You may not know me, young man, but your father does.
Unfortunately, he has opted to end his association with us.
But I’m glad you’re not like your father,” Blake replied cynically.
Gabriel smiled, aware of his displeasure, and continued, “Then I must apologize on my father’s behalf.
But can I ask you what prompted him to do so?
As far as I know, my father does not easily remove people from his life unless he has a good reason.
So, will you please explain the reason for your detest?” In an instant, Blake’s eyes were icy and his smile disappeared.
He glanced at the guy in front of him, his lips curving into a malicious smirk.
“You are far wittier than your father, but if you still insist on hearing from me, please pardon.
You father selected those who backstabbed us and challenged our long friendship.” Gabriel acknowledged the hatred in his eyes and nodded.
“Then I must say, I am my father’s son, and I will most likely follow in his footsteps,” he remarked, surprising Blake.
The old guy was angry by his statement, but he didn’t dare to say anything because he knew one incorrect word would wreck his plans.
“Then why did you agree with our proposal?” Blake inquired, unsure of the reason for his agreement.
“Because I wanted to meet you in person.” He said, and the old guy creased.
“You called me here to waste my precious time,” he yelled, upset that Gabriel had duped him into flying to this country in the name of a bargain.
“No, why would I waste your time if I don’t seek any benefit from you?” Gabriel simply dismissed his assertion.
“Then why did you call me here?” he inquired.

“Eveline, my would-be wife requested me, and there is another reason for me to summon you here,” he stated, leaving the old man intrigued.
Gabriel recognized the old man was proud and egoistic, to the point that he never enquired about his granddaughter for once.
As a result, he realizes that Blake and Kaden have opposing views about Eveline.
Blake’s eyes clouded at the mention of Eveline’s name, and he wondered, “What does that girl want from me, and isn’t her father aware of her little tricks, because as far as I know, he left no chance for us to recover from our shame?” Blake did not hide his contempt for the father-daughter combination. He definitely did not want to mingle with them.
“Then I must say there won’t be any deal sealed between us because she was the only reason why I even consider sparing an eye to your proposals.” Blake’s face distorted, and his eyes glinted with fright.
“I know you need a reliable investor to clear your name of the rumors that have been stymieing your attempts to get your business on track.
To get back in the game, you’ll need a name as support.
This is why you persisted in coming for us.
Am I correct, Mr.
Willow?
Your son knows what you’re up to, which is why he disowned you, and you’re left with just one option: rekindle your previous relationship with the Winstons.” Blake was taken aback by Gabriel’s confidence, but what really struck him was how precise he had been about his motivations.
Gabriel had already gathered enough information on the Willow before making his move.
He understood the elderly man was cunning and was attempting to contact them because he wanted the name’s backing to put the allegations about his illicit business to rest, and they would be able to make an agreement that would clear their name from the blacklist.
Yes, most businessmen ceased working with them since they were involved in criminal activities, and in order to avoid being wrecked as a result, they chose to separate themselves.
However, there was one party who continued to pay them, allowing them to conduct their business successfully despite the lack of well-known support, something Gabriel was curious about.
“It was nice meeting you, Mr.
Willow,” Gabriel said, breaking Blake out of his trance as he watched him stand up to leave.
“Wait,” he urged, stopping Gabriel in his tracks and turning to face the old man, who appeared suspicious but determined not to waste this meeting.
“How do you find everything?” he inquired, his tone suddenly low and worried.
“That’s not for you to bother, but if you truly want us to help you, then you have to do as I say, or else keep watching your business turn into ash.” Gabriel left no space for dispute since he was confident that the old man would not reject his offer.
He still wanted to dig out a lot of information, but he was taking his time because no one near Blake could be trusted.
Gabriel kept staring at the old man until he gave in.
“Fine, but make sure no one knows about it,” Blake advised, leaving Gabriel perplexed at his remarks.
The door soon opened, and Gabriel strolled out, motioning for his assistant to follow him, as the old man observed them silently leaving.
His face was emotionless as he saw Roger enter and the door close.
Gabriel and Leon stepped out of the restaurant and into the car.
“Boss, something is fishy,” Leon observed, capturing Gabriel’s attention, and he nodded.
“Someone is watching us and those men are no one but his allies.” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS akshaya_vanne Keep voting and reading…
