Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 259
Chapter 259: It’s important for me to meet my father Chapter 259: It’s important for me to meet my father The first thing Eveline wanted to do when she awoke was phone her father, but someone had trapped her in his arms so tightly that she couldn’t move.
When Gabriel discovered Jonathan had abruptly gone, explaining that he was going out of town for the day, he chose to stay at Eveline’s because he did not want to leave her alone.
Not that he intended to do otherwise.
But being with her was all he desired, and now that Eveline recalls his words adhering to her like glue, she realises he meant to strike her like a fucking fevibond.
Eveline blinked her eyes a few times before reaching to gently remove his arm off her, making sure her movements would not wake him up.
After much wrestling, she was finally able to break free and swiftly reached out to grab her phone from the side table and attempted to call her father, whose phone was once again turned off.
Eveline was losing patience.
She had been trying to remember her father’s remarks since last night, but his turning off the phone bothered her.
If there was an emergency in the company that required his assistance, why would he deny all contact?
Eveline, unable to contain her curiosity, drove the comforter off and dashed to her study table.
Sitting in the chair, she turned on her laptop and began tracing Jonathan’s location, which revealed he was in the same city.
“Why did Dad lie?” She whispered, considering what she was holding on to.
“What’s with you early morning?” Gabriel’s gruff voice startled her out of her reverie, and she felt his face bending next to hers.
“You tracked Uncle Jonathan’s location?” He inquired, directing his deep gaze to her.
Eveline gasped quickly as their faces were only one inch apart.
She could see his magnificent face, his slightly wide eyes, his hair lying on his forehead, and his pink lips, all of which were distracting her.
‘Why are you acting as if you’re seeing him for the first time?’ Eveline’s intellect raged at her for being whipped by his morning appearance.
“Eve, can I ask you something?
You mentioned Uncle Jonathan was out of town, so why is his location in the same city as ours?” He queried, disrupting her stream of thinking, and she quickly turned aside.
Blinking aside her muddled thoughts, she moistened her lips and added, “I’m not sure why he lied.
But there’s something wrong here?
Eveline pondered her misgivings before making an abrupt announcement.
“Let’s go there and see what Dad’s up to,” she said, her voice firm and determined.
*** Gabriel kept driving his car, thinking about what Eveline was trying to achieve.
She had discovered her father’s location and was now preparing to barge in and face him.
“Are you sure we’re doing this?” He asked and glanced at her before returning his attention to the road.
“Yes, we are.
I really need to know what is going on with Dad and why the hell he would turn off his phone after sending me that fucking message.” Eveline was irritated but tried to remain calm.
That man had a fractured leg and had been attacked, but he decided to go on his own by lying to her that he was out of town when he was actually in the same fucking city.
Gabriel detected a dangerous energy emanating from Eveline and attempted to entice her.

“You need to relax, Eve,” he murmured, only to receive a searing stare in response.
Even if it was a crucial meeting, why wouldn’t he bring his helper along?
Why go alone, especially after turning off his phone?
Yes, she did phone Uncle Mark to inquire about her father, and to her astonishment, he had no idea where he was, which further validated her suspicion that he was in trouble and was attempting to solve it on his own.
“How can I relax, Gabriel?
Dad was previously attacked, and I have no idea when that occurrence may occur again.
I just want to make sure he’s okay before departing without acknowledgment.” She spat, unable to contain her worries since all she needed right now was to know her father was safe.
Gabriel didn’t say anything after that, letting the silence devour them.
He knew she was tense, and bothering her would only make her unhappy.
After another twenty minutes of driving, they arrived at the Hotel Bluebird, where Eveline had tracked Jonathan’s whereabouts.
It was unexpected to hear that Jonathan was in the same city, about two hours away.
But the question was, why did he come here unexpectedly?
Gabriel and Eveline soon made their way to the reception area and inquired for a guest named Jonathan Miller, but to their astonishment, there was no guest signed in under that name.
“How is this possible?
I could obviously see his location in the hotel.” Eveline took out her phone, only to see Jonathan’s position glowing in the same spot.
Gabriel scowls and looks around.
He knew what Eveline was saying, but why would the receptionist lie?
She had a job to keep, and falsifying the guest would only hurt her records.
“Wait,” he responded, pulling out his phone.
“Miss, is this guest residing in your hotel?” This time, he showed her Jonathan’s photograph.
“Yes, this person did come here, but the room is not booked under his name,” the lady stated, putting their anxieties to rest as Gabriel and Eveline exchanged glances before returning their eyes to the lady and asking.
“Can you please tell us in which room this guest is staying?” Eveline shook her head as she gazed at the girl with expectation.
“Sorry, Miss, but he can’t share any details about our guest to any outsider.” It was then that Gabriel and Eveline realized that not everyone knew who they were; otherwise, this innocent lady would not have stopped them in the first place.
“Ma’am, it’s important for me to meet my father,” Eveline insisted, leaving the lady bewildered by her comments.
