Rebirth of Billionaire's Wife - Chapter 262
Chapter 262: I am sorry love Chapter 262: I am sorry love “Eveline, Gabriel what are you doing here?” Jonathan’s sudden entrance stopped them in their tracks.
Eveline and Gabriel exchanged apprehensive looks, not expecting Jonathan to emerge from the room described by the receptionist.
But now that their suspicions were validated, Jonathan was in the same location and hotel.
“We should be asking Dad, what are you doing here?
Weren’t you out of town?” Eveline’s countenance was blank as she peered directly into her father’s eyes.
Jonathan was taken aback by her coolness and botched his words before shifting his gaze to Gabriel, who also appeared doubtful of him.
“I will tell you everything, but first come with me,” he said, causing them to crease their forehead.
Their gazes raced to the door from which he had just come out, and he quickly reopened it and motioned for them to join him.
**** [Inside] “This is Mrs.
Benfort, and this is my daughter,” Eveline said, glancing at the elderly woman with a gauge wrapped around her head.
“I am sorry for keeping your father occupied, but if not for him I would have died bleeding on the road” The lady said, casting a quick glance at Jonathan before returning her gaze to Eveline.
“I found this lady on the way to the airport.
She had an accident and no one was there to help her.
So I had to postpone my meeting and step to assist the lady with her treatment.” Jonathan spoke without glancing at Eveline.
“If not for him, maybe I would have died,” the lady continued appreciating Jonathan, unless she noticed Eveline’s doubtful stance vanish.
Gabriel grabbed for her hand and nodded.
“I’m glad someone was able to get you to the hospital,” Eveline expressed truly.
She had been concerned about her father’s whereabouts, but after understanding the reason for his being in the hotel, she was able to put all her fears to rest.
“Her family would arrive today and since she had no one to look after, I had to stay here” wrote Jonathan.
Eveline gave Jonathan an apologetic look and nodded.
“I was just worried,” she mumbled, looking down.
“But how did you find I was here?” Jonathan asked abruptly, surprising both Eveline and Gabriel.
“I asked someone to look for you,” Gabriel explained, casting a thoughtful glance at Eveline, who was chewing her lips in anticipation.
“I’m glad you did that because I was going to get back at you after finding out how many times you called me,” Jonathan said, holding up the phone.
There was an unpleasant silence between them until Gabriel chose to speak.
“I think we should take leave,” he added, glancing at Eveline, who nodded in agreement.
However, before she could take a stride, she turned to face her father.
“I will head to the airport once her family arrives,” he added, putting Eveline’s mind at ease.
She nodded before taking a step closer to him and saying.
“Don’t turn your phone off and also take care” Eveline felt so ashamed of her conduct that she could not look into Jonathan’s eyes.

“I will, Princess, just don’t worry too much about me,” he said with a hint of awareness in his tone, causing Eveline to lower her gaze and nod before leaving.
Jonathan relaxed as soon as Gabriel and Eveline were no longer visible.
His eyes grew icy as he glanced at the elderly lady who silently climbed off the bed and stood to the side.
“That was a close call,” he muttered, a flood of emotions coursing through his thoughts, but he soon controlled himself and stepped into another room, where he found a woman laying on a bed with a doctor monitoring her pulse.
“How is she and when will she wake up?” was the question.
“Everything appears to be fine now, and she will wake up soon,” he remarked, clearing Jonathan’s mind.
Soon, he became aware of footsteps approaching him, and he heard the man say.
“They have left,” he murmured, prompting Jonathan to look over his shoulder and nod.
“Good, now get ready for the journey before anyone comes to learn anything, and thank you for being aware.
Eveline could have exposed us if it hadn’t been for your rapid actions.” Jonathan truly appreciated his assistance, and the man quickly went to obey his orders.
If Clement hadn’t learned about Eveline and Gabriel inquiring about him during the reception, he might not have been able to handle things properly today.
He never wanted his daughter to learn the truth since he did not want anyone to be upset.
He had been lying to everyone about the truth, but who would have predicted that the person he was protecting would come out in the open and risk her life because all she wanted was to see her kid once.
Yes, Erna, she was alive, but nobody should know about it, especially Jedrick.
Darting his eyes back to the woman, he slowly made his way towards her bed and sat next to her.
“I am sorry love but I have to deny you to keep you both safe” a lone tear roll down his eyes and he leaned forward to plant a kiss on her forehead.
**** Gabriel could sense Eveline’s distress inside the moving car.
She hadn’t spoken a word since they departed, and he understood how she felt.
“Do not overthink.
We were finally able to discover the truth about his activities, right?” he remarked, reaching out to take her hand.
Gabriel didn’t want to make her feel awful, but her quiet was too much for him.
“Then why did Uncle Mark said he don’t know where dad is?” She asked, darting her attention to Gabriel.
Jonathan may have appeared spotless before them, but there were still flaws in his every statement.
Why wasn’t her heart prepared to fully accept it?
Gabriel was going to rebut all of her accusations, but he noticed her looking at her phone, which buzzed with a message.
‘Don’t believe your father completely.
He’s hiding something.’ She had a profound scowl on her face and gave Gabriel a cautious glance.
“Kaden contacted me again,” she revealed, leaving Gabriel stunned.
