Chapter 265: How long should we keep it away from them?
Stefan needed only a second to get Priscilla on her knees.
A call to have her removed from her position and a call to the police, who took both Jack and Priscilla into custody for blackmailing Ella for so long.
Whereas Max was left with nothing but sorrow for his actions, which not only affected Ella but also left him with nothing but disgrace.
“I hope they don’t get out so easily.
Put as many charges as you want.
I want them to suffer” Stefan remarked on the phone before disconnecting up and turning to face Ella, who hadn’t spoken since she was at Jack’s apartment.
It hurt him to see her like that, but he knew she needed time to process, which would only happen if he didn’t worry her too much.
As he was going to take a seat next to her, his phone buzzed, and it was his father.
“What the hell have you done, Stefan!?
Why did you terminate the arrangement with SM Corporate, and what’s with this allegation that you gave over control of the project to the cops?” Stefan was so concerned with Ella that he failed to deal with the spilled milk before it was spotted.
Stefan closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose, defeated.
“Dad, I have my reasons.” Stefan tried to excuse it, but it just infuriated his father further.
“I want you home right now, Stefan.
Get Ella too,” he yelled, ending the call with no space for rejection.
Ella, who had been hearing Stefan, stared at him hopelessly.
“Let’s go; we need to explain everything,” she replied, leaving Stefan stunned.
“Babe, you don’t have to-” Stefan tried to resist, but she got up.
“It is time, Stefan.
How long should we keep it away from them?” She inquired, her voice devoid of passion, making Stefan anxious about what she was about to do.
*** Meanwhile, Eveline had gone home and was busy decoding the message she had just received from Kaden.
Yes, Kaden, and she was certain, regardless of what Gabriel said.
She continued to trace the number, which turned out to be under some Franklin’s name.
Eveline hurriedly gathered the information and left the house, eager to see this Franklin guy.
She had to be certain no matter what, therefore she had to get on her feet and hunt for everything.
“Where are you leaving, Young Miss?
Didn’t you return a while ago?” Susan questioned, interrupting Eveline in the middle.
She was unsure if she should tell Susan where she was going, but after some thought, she decided not to.
“Aunt Susan, I’m going to a bookstore on Crossroads streets,” she lied, but the lady reconsidered and stopped her.

“I am sorry Miss, but Master Gabriel said that shouldn’t let you go anywhere and have asked me to keep an eye on you” “…” Susan blinked hesitantly and turned aside.
Eveline’s lips twitched at his arrogant conduct in locking her in the house, and she considered Aunt Susan to be the one keeping an eye on her.
“What an overbearing man,” she grumbled and looked at Susan, still attempting to entice her with her sweet language.
“Aunt Susan, it’s urgent.
“I really need this book,” she remarked.
“Sorry Young Miss, but master Gabried warned me not to listen to any of your excuses because everything you say would be a pure lie” Eveline’s jaw dropped.
Susan had never opposed to her, but watching how she persisted in preventing her from going made her understand how masterfully Gabriel had persuaded her of her next action.
She forced a grin and nodded as she walked back to her room or marched to her room in full discontent, even attempting to hide her rage when she slammed the door shut.
Susan jumped at the sound, her gaze jumping to the first floor, and she sighed, gently tapping the sweat buds on her forehead.
Inside the room, Eveline swiftly got out her phone and dialed Gabriel’s number, who responded immediately as if he expected her call.
“You said Aunt Susan to keep an eye on me?” She inquired, her tone filled with rage.
“Why?
Where are you attempting to escape?” He asked boldly, prompting her scowl.
“Why would you do that, Gabriel?
Am I a small girl who will get lost?” She asked, plainly upset by his behavior.
“No you are not, but the problem your get yourself into does” according to him.
“Problems?
“I just want to go out and buy a book,” she said back.
“Where is the problem here?” “Lair.
I know you’re not going to buy a book, so go locate your Uncle Kaden.
“…” Eveline blinked as Gabriel caught her falsehood.
Fortunately, he wasn’t there to look at her, otherwise she would have felt ashamed for confirming his supposition correct.
“I’m not going to do anything.
Didn’t you already tell me not to go against you?
Why would you house arrest me like that!” “Because I know you, Eveline, and unless you can confirm that the guy who called you is Kaden, you won’t be at rest.
Now tell me what you found, and I’ll get someone to look for it.” Eveline pouted with defeat.
It was so easy for him to detect her lies.
So when he offered his assistance, she couldn’t stop and concede defeat.
“Fine,” she replied.
“I looked down the number, and it belongs to a Franklin guy.
He lives near Brookhaven Street and is a carpenter,” she explained, prompting Gabriel to pause for a while.
Eveline, take Brookhaven Street seriously.
You were going to meet that man alone on Brookhaven Streets.
Don’t you know how dangerous that place is?
It’s a ghetto region full of gangs and goons.
You wanted to get yourself in trouble again.” Gabriel did not hide his disgust, but his remarks utterly shocked Eveline.
She understood she couldn’t get to the spot she wanted to go alone.
“I-I apologize.
I didn’t realize the place was dangerous,” she apologized, only to have Gabriel mock her in return.
“That is why you should not act on instinct.
What if I hadn’t requested Aunt Susan to keep an eye on you?
I’m sure you’d have bolted from the house and to that location.” Gabriel indicated his disgust, prompting Eveline to chew on her bottom lip like a child caught lying.
“Okay, don’t scold me.
You’ve managed to keep me at home.
So now go find out who this Franklin person is and why he sent me that text,” she added, moving away from his fury and instead looking into the subject more thoroughly.
Gabriel paused for a few seconds, understanding that now was not the time to be upset and should instead focus on what she had discovered.
“I’ll have someone go check, but don’t do anything until then.
If your mind is always overthinking and doesn’t relax, try meditation,” he added, perplexing Eveline.
“Meditation, now?” she asked incredulously.
“Yes, because I know unless I don’t call you back, you will come up with many ways to get out of your house.” Eveline was struck completely dumbfounded.
“Y-You think a lot,” she faltered, attempting to counter his claim of knowing everything about her.
“I do not suppose Eve.
I am confident because, as you know, I can read you like an open book,” he said, thus silencing her.
“No, behave until I contact you, or I will not spare you tonight,” he said before hanging up the phone.
Eveline felt she was being cornered for no apparent reason.
Gabriel had always been so attentive to her that she wondered how she could leave him alone in the room.
Despite the fact that she was in the bathroom, he would just turn the entire room upside down.Eveline shook her head helplessly before walking to sit on the bed.
She had to follow Gabriel’s instructions and wait for his response, but she wasn’t sure she’d be able to sit still.
As she continued to keep from thinking about anything, she decided to phone her father.
Bringing her phone close to her ear, she heard the bell ring, but Jonathan did not answer.
Doubtful, she attempted to confirm Jonathan’s location, and to her astonishment, they were no longer at the hotel, indicating that he was actually traveling for business.
Eveline tried to divert herself until something snapped, and she decided to investigate into Jedrick and his relationship with the Willows.
Blake had yet to contact them about the appointment, but she couldn’t help but wonder who he was being cautious about and why his staff were watching his movements.
Eveline was thinking when her phone rang, and she answered it immediately, knowing it was from Gabriel.
“Are you certain it was that Franklin guy?
The man stated he didn’t send you any messages.
In fact, he claimed that he doesn’t even know you.
But there is a catch, the guy went to the same hotel where you father was” Gabriel explained, perplexing Eveline.
“How is that possible!?
I looked into the data on my own, and believe me, Gabriel, the text came from his phone number.
What astonished me was how he kept it on while Uncle Kaden prefers to keep it hidden.
And what did you say, he was there in the hotel where dad was?” she inquired.
Gabriel considered her remarks and stated, “Something is amiss.
Either the man is lying, or perhaps he has been used to get back at you and everything eventually connects to your father” CREATORS’ THOUGHTS akshaya_vanne Thank you Diamond_Farmer for the golden ticket NEW BOOK ALERT Marriage with my daughter’s father: Darling please be gentle
